Programme Overview
Connect to Work is a UK government-funded initiative aimed at supporting individuals with disabilities, health conditions, or other complex challenges in finding and maintaining employment. The program offers tailored assistance, including one-to-one coaching, employer engagement and help with CV writing. Participants can receive up to 12 months of guidance if they are seeking employment, or up to 4 months if they are currently employed but at risk of losing their job. Support is delivered through local partnerships, and individuals can either self-refer or be referred by professionals and community partners.
In Hampshire we will be delivering Lot 2 – aimed at supporting victims and survivors of Domestic Abuse. We will be working alongside Stop Domestic Abuse and other local partners and domestic abuse charities across the area to deliver a joined up and tailored support for this specific cohort.
The Employment Specialist will be based in Havant and play a vital role in the success of the programme for those across Hampshire. They will manage a small caseload, delivering person centred support to create and follow an individualised workplan, engaging with employers directly to support people into good and sustainable work. They will be enthusiastic and passionate about helping people to find that role that works for them.
Location and Salary
The role will be based in our Havant office with travel expected across Hampshire throughout the week to agreed venues. Salary will be £27,976 - £29,500 depending on experience. Travel expenses over and above those to the base location will be reimbursed.
Primary Duties and responsibilities:

Champion our customers as valuable candidates by actively promoting them to employers and raising awareness and support available through the programme

Creating and following through with individualised action plans ensuring appropriate and effective activity is undertaken by and with each customer.

Have regular check-ins with customers to track their progress before starting employment and once in employment
-
Advocate for the values of our programmes by working in partnership with employers to view our clients positively and inclusively during recruitment.

Build potential employment opportunities through proactive engagement with potential employers.
-
Facilitate work experiences, such as placements, trials, and shadowing opportunities with suitable employers where appropriate.

Provide ongoing In Work Support to customers who have successfully gained employment, helping them sustain and thrive in their roles, including working in partnership with employers.

Address customer’s personal constraints to employment, providing challenge, advice, and guidance where appropriate to develop customers capability in the recruitment process ensuring they have the necessary skills and confidence to secure employment.

Identify, structure, and recommend vacancy and training solutions, working in close consultation with the team to meet the specific needs of customers and employers.

Maintain customer records to a required quality standard to ensure the customer journey is documented in accordance with our quality standards and contractual requirements.

Develop an understanding of specialist signposting services in the local area/region, building knowledge in areas such as specific disabilities, housing, benefits etc

Meet personal performance targets, Key Performance Indicators and all Quality and Compliance measures by delivering high quality employability provision to customers
Skills and experience:
Required

A passion for working with people and have a solution focused approach

Experience working with people facing barriers to employment including health conditions and disabilities

An understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse (physical, emotional, physiological, sexual, financial, coercive control) and the importance of a trauma informed approach

Experience of providing one to one support and coaching to individuals with the ability to constructively challenge where needed.

Proven experience in developing networks and building strong partnerships to support customers goals

A flexible approach to working hours is essential, including the ability to support occasional evening and weekend activities.

Purpose
The Philanthropy Leads, reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, are responsible for inspiring new prospective, cultivating and stewarding high-value donors into greater involvement with Christians Against Poverty. They aim to draw supporters closer to the work we do, deepening their relationship and support of CAP. Income from CAP’s major donors is vital for the future expansion of CAP in the UK.
Each Philanthropy Lead may be allocated one or more area of Philanthropy engagement in order to specialise in, but will be expected to support in any area as required. Such areas include:

Along with seeking direct support for the organisation Christians Against Poverty, there is also an expectation for the postholders to support the raising of funds for the wider movement, particularly for local Church frontline partners.
They themselves will be an experienced and confident relationship builder, communicator and fundraiser, cultivating relationships with high-value donors and partners to achieve ambitious targets.

Role
Accountabilities:
Strategic Implementation & Fundraising

Implementation of a strategic plan to significantly increase major donor income.
-
Implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy for major donor income, aligned with CAP's overall strategic priorities.
-
Execution of market research and competitor analysis to identify new funding opportunities and best practice in Philanthropic fundraising.
-
Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, in order to identify points of engagement and draft appropriate funding bids.
-
Represent CAP at high-level events and conferences to build relationships with potential donors and partners.
Major Donor Development
-
Manage a designated caseload of high-net-worth individuals or trusts, cultivating deep and meaningful relationships.
-
Conduct face-to-face meetings, personalised communications, and bespoke stewardship plans to cultivate and steward major donors.
-
Develop compelling restricted funding projects to attract major donor investment.
-
Implement a donor recognition program to acknowledge and celebrate major donor support.
Philanthropy Team Membership

A member of the Philanthropy Team of our Mission and Movement Directorate.

Providing peer support and development with other members of the Philanthropy Team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.

Work with the Head of Philanthropy to set ambitious targets and KPIs for the postholder, ensuring they are aligned with overall fundraising goals.

Ensure the timely submission of funding applications and effective stewardship of grant and donor relationships.

Implement robust systems and processes for donor relationship management, data analysis, and performance tracking.
Impact & Reporting

Ensure that the CRM is updated with engagements, proposal submissions and engagement plans in a timely fashion.

Develop compelling narratives and impact reports that effectively communicate the impact of major donor support.

Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of fundraising efforts and identify areas for improvement.

Provide regular updates on fundraising progress to the Head of Philanthropy.
Innovation & Best Practices

Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in major donor fundraising.

Implement innovative fundraising strategies, such as engaging new philanthropists, digital engagement, corporate engagement and high-impact events.

Evaluate philanthropy activities with the rest of the team and the Fundraising Insight & Innovation team to develop a deeper understanding of supporters and identify new prospects, making data-informed decisions.

Champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the Philanthropy Team.

Create opportunities for supporters to engage at a senior level and deepen their relationship with CAP, working with the CEO and other senior staff.
Communications & Campaign Management:

Plan philanthropy initiatives that in order to produce excellent bids, proposals, events, and reports, delivered on time and within budget.

Coordinate with the Brand and Digital Engagement teams to align messaging and campaigns.

Ensure philanthropy plans align with brand guidelines and fundraising regulations.

Are you an experienced Public Affairs professional with a passion for dogs?
We’re looking for a Public Affairs Officer to support the important work we do to ensure policy makers consider dog welfare in their decision making.
What does this role do?
As Public Affairs Officer, you’ll:
- contribute to the delivery of our ambitious public affairs programme across Westminster and Whitehall, the devolved administrations and in the EU,
- support and occasionally lead on the organisation and coordination of political events, meetings, and project visits, as part of our programme of engagement with policy makers,
- support the management of the Pet Advertising Advisory Group (PAAG) and the EU Dog & Cat Alliance,
- establish and maintain positive relationships with key external stakeholders, including parliamentarians and civil servants.
Please note, this role is available as a fixed term contract until January 2027. Interviews for this role are provisionally scheduled for week commencing 9th February 2026, and will take place on Teams.
