Summary 
 

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Marketing and Communications Manager to lead marketing campaigns, communications and design projects from brief to evaluation across our three NHS charity brands: Evelina London Children’s Charity, Guy’s Cancer Charity and Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity.  

Working within the busy Charities marketing and communications team, you’ll work with a wide range of stakeholders to create and deliver high quality marketing materials and campaigns to deliver on awareness, engagement and income goals.  

We’re looking for an excellent communicator who can build strong relationships quickly while offering outstanding account management support. You’ll need to be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a can-do, delivery minded and proactive attitude. This role would ideally suit somebody who is happy to ‘do the do’ as well as think and understand strategy.

Overall Purpose of the Role 

The purpose of this role is to manage great quality, high impact marketing, brand and communications to support our funding, fundraising and supporter goals liaising with a range of internal and external stakeholders.  

To effectively project manage the marketing and communications outputs across one or more of our three charity brands: Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity, Evelina London Children’s Charity and Guy’s Cancer Charity - amplifying our need for charitable funds and the impact of these for the patients, families and staff of Guy’s and St Thomas’s NHS Foundation Trust.  

• Project manage a number of marketing, design and communications activities from brief to evaluation that support the delivery of our ambitious ten year fundraising plan  
• Contribute to income generation in support of the fundraising objectives and fundraising targets  
• Contribute to increasing the number of supporters, increasing levels of awareness, reaching and engaging new audiences and existing audiences in fundraising and funding  
• To build excellent working relationships with Trust Communications team, Fundraising team and other key stakeholders by developing an in depth understanding of their work, working collaboratively, acting as a key point of contact within the Charity Marketing and Comms team, ensuring all communications and marketing activity support the Charity and Trust’s brand and reputation.  
• Champion the three Charity brands, acting as brand guardian, providing expert guidance and supporting fundraising colleagues, to ensure the brands and messaging are applied consistently across all activities.  
• Line manage one Marketing and Communications Officer and oversee matrix management one Senior Media Officer (employed by NHS Comms team) to ensure media activities align with charity goals and objectives  
• Provide specialist support in developing opportunities involving celebrity engagement 

Team Management 

• Line manage 1 x Marketing and Communication Officer and matrix management 1 x Senior Media Officer, providing regular 121’s, performance reviews and L&D plans as required  

Campaign project planning and implementation 

• Lead the delivery of marketing materials and campaigns from brief to evaluation using project management tools to set, monitor and evaluate progress  
• Develop and implement plans for marketing and communications activities, using a wide range of tactics to reach target audiences, setting objectives, KPIs and making the best use of tactics.  
• Use a wide range of tactics to reach our audiences, making the best use of digital and social-media marketing, e-comms, Trust internal communications channels, events, PR, celebrity supporters and other relevant tactics.  
• Collaborate with the Evelina London and Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Trust Communications Teams to agree plans and look for opportunities to work together to maximise impact.  
• Act as main point of contact for Evelina London Trust Communications team, building strong relationships and specialist knowledge to best support future campaigns and objectives  
• Act as a business partner to fundraising and funding teams to influence their marketing plans and support delivery, providing expertise on the Charity brands and expertise on a wide range of marketing tactics, including digital marketing, internal comms, PR and communications, events and collateral development.  
• Work with the Senior Brand and Content Manager to support with content production, eg copywriting content and working with external suppliers on video and photo production.  

Delivery 

• Delivery across brands, through effective end to end project management and prioritisation as well as ensuring alignment of stakeholder expectations. This could include managing the delivery of the following –brand awareness and fundraising campaigns, impact reports, branded merchandise, case studies, challenge event collateral, digital assets, hospital onsite collateral, pull up banners, posters, leaflets, DM packs, fulfilment materials, digital assets including videos, photography and animations for social media  

Central to your role will be: 

• Leading project groups to deliver outstanding campaigns  
• developing and managing timing plans and scheduling  
• developing marketing and communication plans  
• working with stakeholders to develop creative and campaign/project briefs  
• copywriting and key messaging development  
• effectively managing feedback and sign off/approvals process internally and externally and stakeholder engagement  
• scheduling, chairing and managing meeting agendas and follow up actions  
• presenting project updates and evaluation  
• ensuring DEI principles are embedded across all charities comms and marketing work  
• proof-reading of materials, fact and source checking  
• briefing creatives and supporting the creative process with designers, copywriters, agencies and freelancers  
• managing the print and production process where required for marketing collateral  

• managing Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital onsite and channels comms and marketing collateral for charity events, campaigns or projects. This may require you to be onsite at the hospital or related partner or community sites or events on regular basis, which will be based in London 
• managing the development of case studies for Supporters, Fundraisers, patients, families and NHS Staff  
• implement and embed our new brand portfolio across our organisation and the Trust including successful application of new brand identities, values  
• Specifically support Fundraising colleagues across Events and Community, Direct Marketing, Corporate, Legacies, Public Fundraising and Major Giving to deliver on marketing plans for income generation and engagement.  
• Collaborate with the charities Digital team to ensure strong performance of our digital channels in support of our Charity brand goals and content  

Analysis and research 

• Test and evaluate marketing and communications activities, providing the insights and data that influences decisions about future activities.  
• Keep abreast of marketing best practice and new developments, contributing ideas on how these could increase the impact of our work.  

Collaboration, Relationship Building and Networking 

• Build excellent working relationships with the Evelina London and Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Trust Communication Teams, fundraising and funding colleagues - sharing objectives, agreeing plans and looking for opportunities to work across teams to maximise impact. Ensuring they are kept informed and consulted on plans and activities. Organise and lead regular planning meetings between teams.  
• Support effective information flow and collaboration through regular meetings with the digital team.  

Celebrity engagement and media 

• Provide specialist support in developing opportunities involving celebrity engagement.  
• Provide support and matrix management to the Senior Media Officer (Trust employed) to ensure we are maximising media and PR opportunities  

Budget and supplier management 

• Manage project and campaign budgets including invoicing and regular financial reporting.  
• Manage external suppliers, ensuring procurement procedures are followed, suppliers are fully briefed and deliver projects to deadline and to budget.  

Other 

• Pro-actively spot opportunities to grow our 3 charity brands, sharing best practise and knowledge with teams to maximise campaign effectiveness  
• Pro-actively support with creating and embedding team processes and ways of working to improve efficiencies and effectiveness across the organisation  

Work environment 

The post holder should expect to: 

• Work in a hybrid hot desk environment, generally working 2 days a week in the London office and three from home.  
• Be responsible for the input and maintenance of databases and files relevant to the post requirements. 
• Will occasionally be required to attend events in the evening and at weekends.

About the role

We want to reach and support more people with heart and circulatory conditions, helping them feel informed, empowered, and understood.

As a Health Editor, you’ll play a key role in doing this, through creating and commissioning high-quality written, audio and video content to support people with heart conditions.

You will generate ideas and produce high-quality, engaging and accurate content in a variety of formats (e.g. video, quizzes, infographics, interactive tools) across a range of channels (including web, email, print).

Collaborating with colleagues and other teams, you’ll use data and insight to inform the creation and optimisation of content; ensuring the people who need our support are at the heart of everything we do.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you bring experience of writing, editing and proof-reading content (ideally health content) and interviewing people for first-person stories and journalistic features.

With the ability to work quickly under pressure, prioritise effectively and meet tight deadlines, you have experience of creating and/or managing the creation of multimedia content (e.g., video, animation, interactive tools), working on a print or magazine product, and generating and gathering ideas for content (including by audience insight and SEO techniques).

Flexible and open to challenges, you will be great at producing high-quality, engaging and accurate content, collaborating with you team and colleagues across the business.

Able to understand complex medical or scientific materials, you will ideally have a background in health, and/or a good level of science literacy.

Working arrangements 

This role is 12 month Fixed Term Contract covering family leave. It is a part time role working 21 hours per week as part of a job share. Ideally working days would include Mondays as a cross-over day between the job share partners but we are very open and flexibility around this can be discussed.

The salary range shown is the full time equivalent and will be pro rata for part time hours.

This is a hybrid role, where your work will be split between your home and at least one day per week, on average, in our London Office. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

Strategy, Planning and Performance Director, WaterAid UK and International

About the team

The Director reports jointly to the WAUK Executive Director of Finance, Technology & Strategic Planning, and the Global Director, WAI. They will therefore belong both to the UK Finance, Technology and Strategic Planning Directorate team and to the Global Secretariat. The team consists of roles that work across WAUK and international.

About the role

The Strategy, Planning and Performance Director works across WAUK and WaterAid International to deliver performance and planning.  They are responsible for delivering planning and performance assessment across both WAUK and international - ensuring that these are aligned and link up in the most efficient manner possible. They will ensure that we understand how we are contributing towards our global strategy and we are maximising our global impact.

In this role, you will:

• Lead WAUK annual planning process. Support WAUK ED Finance, Technology and Strategic Planning to develop UK business plan.
• Lead global annual planning process: work with WaterAid members to align member business plans that maximise the potential contribution of each member to WaterAid’s Global Strategy and impact.
• Coordinate global and WAUK reporting at year end, ensuring a coherent narrative over time that provides clarity for UK Board and WaterAid international Board.
• Coordinate WAUK Quarterly Performance Review (QPR) process, delivering quarterly reporting to the UK DT and Board.
• Provide effective leadership to the Strategy, Planning and Performance team ensure high levels of motivation and engagement as well as strong relationships across the organisation.
• Lead on strategy and performance communications, working with the internal and external communications teams ensure all staff and relevant external audiences have a good understanding of WaterAid’s Global Strategy and our performance (Global and UK)
• Lead the project management support to key WAUK and WAi projects, as required
• Own the Global Performance Management Framework to assess performance against WaterAid’s Global Strategy. Ensure this is aligned and integrated with member-level performance assessment processes.
• Own the development and evolution of WaterAid’s Global Strategy, ensuring effective analysis of external trends and context, drawing on expertise, experience and perspectives from across the organisation.
• Provide support, advice and guidance to enable effective, aligned implementation of the strategy across all members, including support programmes of change and / or individual change projects
• Lead on any multi-annual review of progress against the Global Strategy to assess contribution to global change, identify achievements and challenges, lessons learned and recommendations.

To be successful, you will need:

• Strategic and critical thinking across complex and fast moving environments: able to shape business direction and strategy through anticipating and identifying trends and shifts in the wider world, able to translate strategy into action
• Knowledge of corporate planning, with a deep understanding of different approaches in different contexts
• Understanding of complex performance assessment in data-poor environments and complex, qualitative evaluation methodologies that enable deep reflection on performance
• Effective stakeholder management; able to understand and translate senior leadership needs, managing expectations and support outside of remit.
• Significant experience of providing strategic guidance to Board and senior leaders within a large and complex organisation. Able to build and maintain credibility and trust at all levels of the organisation.
• A degree with substantial experience in strategy, planning, and performance management within a reputable organization. A Master’s degree or Professional finance qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or an MBA are advantageous but not essential.
• Clear communication and ability to convey complex ideas in a compelling manner, tailoring arguments to persuade the listener.

Here at the Royal British Legion, we are currently embarking on an exciting phase of transformation. As part of our newly formed Data, Technology and Transformation Directorate, we are seeking Director: Change and Transformation to join our team and be the strategic lead for organisational change.

Reporting to our Executive Director: Data, Technology and Transformation, you will join an existing senior leadership team to focus on shaping, mobilising and delivering a portfolio of transformation programmes and projects that enable us to achieve RBLs new objectives and to shape the long term change agenda and strategy.

You will lead a high performing team within Change and Transformation including delivery leads, programme managers, project managers and specialist PMO and Change professionals. Key areas of responsibility will include:

- Strategic Leadership: Develop and maintain our change and transformation roadmap and plans, ensuring there is measurable impact, while acting as a trusted advisor to the Executive Board
- Portfolio Management: Engage with our senior leadership community to identify change demands and priorities to ensure a well-integrated and aligned portfolio is developed and maintained
- Delivery and Enablement: Drive the delivery of the change and transformation portfolio, ensuring robust and stretching delivery plans are in place, optimising delivery performance based on insight, best practice and allocation of required resources
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships across senior leadership, functional teams, and external partners, leveraging these relationships to enable successful delivery of outcomes
- Resource and Budget Oversight: Lead and ensure delivery of options appraisals and develop clear cases for transformation, designing projects and programmes that are credible with respect to costs, benefits, resourcing, timescales, governance, risk management and organisational capacity
- Change and Transformation Function Management: Lead and develop a high-performing team to include; delivery leads, programme managers, project managers and specialist roles (e.g., PMO, Impact & Evaluation, Change Communications)

Your experience in senior leadership role(s) and your understanding of change models and large scale transformation across people, process, technology and data within an organisation of similar size and complexity will be key to success. You will bring excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate deliver focussed teams of professionals. Previous experience of working in a large charity or social business would be advantageous.

The Partnerships Manager will play a pivotal role in delivering Youth Futures Foundation’s Employer Strategy.

You will embed and scale evidence-based practice across employer networks to create systemic change in how employers recruit, develop and retain young people.

This role focuses on influencing employer behaviour at scale – using evidence, partnerships and networks to embed the evidence of what works across organisations, sectors and places. It does not involve delivering employability support or 1:1 services to employers or young people.

You will be skilled at:

• Influencing organisational or systems-level change
• Translating research and evidence into practical action
• Working through partnerships, intermediaries and networks to achieve scale.

You will work with employer organisations, networks, sector bodies and system actors to ensure that Youth Futures’ evidence shapes decision-making, practice and investment – improving young people’s access to good work over the long term. 

You will have a passion for tackling youth unemployment and a strong interest in equity, diversity and inclusion issues.

This role can be based at our Birmingham, Leeds or London hub. We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.

Kineara is looking for someone who can grow our fundraising potential and engage key stakeholders across the sector, while delivering engaging communications and outreach campaigns that demonstrate our social value and grow our support base. They will play a key role in helping Kineara develop our newly formed charitable arm, alongside our community interest company, to generate income through engaging fundraising campaigns, impact-driven communications and strategic relationship-building with existing and potential funders.

You will work closely with project managers and SLT (Senior Leadership Team) to identify how support services can reduce barriers to secure housing, work and school; prevent evictions and homelessness; and improve health and wellbeing of people facing challenges. You’ll use this understanding to motivate new stakeholders to invest in our work - whether charitable trusts, corporate foundations or individuals.

Job Description 

Communications 

• Develop, contribute to and implement impact-driven and strategic communications campaigns that build Kineara’s fundraising capacity and raise awareness of the issues 

• Develop brand identity for Kineara’s new charitable arm, ensuring it is consistent across all activities in the organisation, while maintaining Kineara’s overall ‘look and feel’ to ensure coherence in branding, colours, messaging, style and approach. 

• Manage the creation, development, distribution of compelling, impact-driven story-telling about Kineara’s work and beneficiaries using interviews, blogs, case studies, etc. 

• Use a range of platforms to distribute print and electronic content including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, leaflets, posters reports, e-newsletters, and Kineara’s website 

• Work closely with IT and business managers to ensure smooth running of internal communications 

Fundraising 

• Develop positive relationships with a range of stakeholders providing funding to charities, including in the third sector, public sector, and the business sector, to raise awareness and promote our work 

• Write grant and tender applications, and manage and coordinate work of external consultants supporting grant writing process where applicable 

• Manage and administer online fundraising platforms, and develop accessible, persuasive campaigns for public donations.

The role

As Head of Operations, you will lead all operational functions of Foxglove. You will ensure that our finance, HR, legal compliance, fundraising, systems and internal processes enable the organisation to carry out its mission effectively. As an interim Supervising Solicitor in Public Law, you will supervise and carry out CPAG’s public law legal aid cases, to benefit families and children in poverty. You will play an active role in managing CPAG’s legal practice and conduct high-profile public law litigation.

The ideal candidate will be a solicitor (E&W qualified) with experience of conducting public law litigation and legal aid (publicly funded) work. Merseyside Youth Association is seeking an energetic and visionary Outdoor Education Centre Manager to lead our lakeside Outdoor Education Centre (based on the Lord Derby Estate in Knowsley) into its next exciting chapter.

You’ll be the driving force behind the Centre’s direction, designing imaginative outdoor programmes for children and young people including those who may never have experienced the outdoors before.

Alongside the outdoor delivery, you’ll bring strong commercial flair: developing and delivering a robust income generation strategy, managing budgets, securing grants, expanding school and corporate bookings, and positioning MYA as the provider of choice for outdoor education locally and beyond.

You’ll build meaningful partnerships, drive targeted marketing, track both impact and financial KPIs, and ensure our programmes not only change lives but also sustain the long-term future of the Centre.
