• About The Role

• In this important role, you will provide a comprehensive homelessness advice and prevention service, helping vulnerable households understand their housing options and access suitable accommodation.

  You will assess housing applications, determine statutory homelessness duties and work closely with partners to help households secure sustainable housing solutions. The role will also involve visiting applicants in their homes or temporary accommodation and supporting them to access private rented housing where possible.

  
  Key responsibilities include:
  • Assessing applications from refugees seeking advice about their housing situation
  • Determining homelessness duties for households presenting as homeless under refugee schemes
  • Supporting households to secure private rented accommodation, including accessing appropriate funding
  • Helping applicants register for housing through HomeseekerPlus and validating documentation
  • Creating and managing personalised housing plans to prevent or relieve homelessness
  • Working closely with partner agencies, refugee support organisations and the County Council
  • Sourcing suitable temporary and longer-term accommodation to meet the council’s housing duties
  • Maintaining accurate case records and monitoring information
  • Managing a caseload within prevention and relief duties during busy periods across the wider homelessness service

  About You

   You will have experience working within a housing or homelessness service and a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable people through challenging situations.

  
  You will be confident managing complex cases, working with partner agencies and providing clear advice and support to individuals with a range of needs.

  
  You will also bring:
  • Experience working in housing, homelessness or a related support service
  • Experience supporting vulnerable people or those with complex needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to manage your own caseload and prioritise effectively

   Knowledge or experience of issues affecting refugees or asylum seekers would be beneficial, and Ukrainian language skills would be an advantage but are not essential.
  
  You will need resilience and adaptability, as you will often work with people experiencing stress, crisis or confrontation. It is important that you can manage these situations calmly and confidently. You should also be emotionally resilient and able to support others while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  
  Teamwork is essential in this role, and you will need to work effectively with colleagues and external partners.
  
  Please note that you will be based in our offices five days a week and will need the ability to travel as required. This is a 12months fixed term contract.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Head of Finance to act as the University’s senior professional lead for financial management, planning, reporting and control.

This pivotal role provides authoritative financial stewardship, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and plays a key part in shaping strategic decision‑making across the institution.

You will lead the Finance function to:

• Deliver high‑quality financial information
• Strengthen long‑term financial sustainability
• Provide expert advice to the Executive Team, Senior Management, the Board of Governors and external regulators

About You

You will be an inspirational and motivating senior manager with substantial financial management experience in the Higher Education sector. You will also:

• Hold a recognised accounting qualification
• Be comfortable leading from the front while working collaboratively within a senior management team
• Have experience implementing and improving financial systems
• Demonstrate strong budgeting, planning, forecasting and compliance expertise
• Be highly organised and capable of managing multiple priorities
• Have proven experience in regulatory financial reporting, including statutory data returns to the Office for Students

About the Role

The Head of Fundraising & Membership will be an experienced professional fundraiser responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive fundraising and membership strategy to grow and diversify sustainable income for the British Science Association across its portfolio of programmes.

A central part of the role will be leading development and delivery of the membership and fundraising strategy for EDIS (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Science and Health), a national membership coalition hosted by the British Science Association (BSA) delivered in partnership with the Francis Crick Institute and funded by the Wellcome Trust.

Working closely with the Director of Development & External Relations, Chief Executive and other colleagues across the organisation, the postholder will lead fundraising and business development activity, strengthen BSA supporter engagement, and EDIS organisational member engagement, and help shape resilient income models that support the BSA’s mission to ensure that all of society is included in science.

Key responsibilities

Develop and deliver the BSA’s fundraising strategy

• Develop the BSA’s fundraising strategy, working with key stakeholders, and create an accompanying implementation plan, KPIs and milestones.
• Monitor and report on the delivery of the fundraising strategy to the Senior Management Team and Board.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to support the delivery of the fundraising strategy.

Develop and grow membership of EDIS (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in Science and Health)

• Develop and deliver the EDIS membership strategy, including an implementation plan with clear KPIs and milestones
• Work closely with the Head of EDIS and wider EDIS team to develop a compelling and sustainable membership offer and pricing structure (from year 3 of the programme) for current and prospective organisational members .
• Develop and deliver a membership growth plan, and work closely with the EDIS team to oversee member communications, engagement campaigns and retention strategies.
• Work with the Head of EDIS and other colleagues to develop additional earned income streams that complement membership (such as sponsorship or paid-for training).

Lead, support and champion the Development team

• Foster a strong, collaborative team culture for the BSA Development team, reflecting the values of the BSA and of EDIS, and inspiring the team to develop and contribute to the fundraising strategy and the BSA’s and EDIS’ mission and vision.
• Work collaboratively with teams across the BSA, encouraging all teams to support the organisation’s fundraising and income generation activities, as appropriate.
• Deputise for the Director of Development & External Relations, when needed.

Lead on our fundraising activities and donor engagement

• Lead and provide oversight on high-quality applications and bids to corporates, trusts and foundations, statutory sources and other funders, working closely with Development team members and other colleagues.
• Lead the development of high-value strategic partnerships, including multi-year and/or multi-programme partnerships, aligning funder priorities with organisational impact.
• Lead on the BSA’s donor stewardship plans, ensuring timely and effective reporting to funders as well as a strong supporter experience.
• Ensure there is a comprehensive pipeline of funding bids with a clear prospecting plan for the BSA.
• Work closely with the Head of Education and wider team to develop and deliver fundraising approaches that complement earned income for the BSA’s flagship CREST Awards programme.
• Work closely with the Director of Development & External Relations, CEO, Trustees and other colleagues to help build strong relationships with prospective donors and high-profile stakeholders, by providing timely briefings for donor meetings to support senior level engagement.

Develop our processes and systems to allow for effective fundraising and membership

• Lead on our fundraising Customer Relationship Management (CRM), ensuring that fundraising and membership relationships are captured, updated and shared in a timely and consistent way across the organisation.
• Develop compelling cases for support and fundraising collateral, working closely with programmes, communications, policy and other teams across the BSA.
• Ensure that our fundraising complies with the highest fundraising standards, as set out by the Fundraising Regulator, Chartered Institute of Fundraising, Charity Commission of England & Wales, and other relevant bodies.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising, including securing significant grants and/or contracts, managing a complex fundraising pipeline and stewarding funders during a partnership and experience in developing and implementing successful supporter/member engagement strategies.

This is an exciting opportunity to join TACT in the new role of Fostering Recruitment Officer as they grow their presence in East, North & South London, Essex and Hertfordshire, the successful candidate will be required to travel across London, Essex and Hertfordshire. 

The Fostering Recruitment Officer will drive recruitment of Foster Carers across the area, innovating engagement and participation alongside the Fostering Recruitment Manager, in collaboration with the whole team.

Overall Duties of the Fostering Recruitment Officer will include:

• Working collaboratively across relevant teams to progress enquiry management
• Support community recruitment activity to create a consistent pipeline of carer applicants
• Facilitating a smooth application and assessment process for potential carers
• Undertaking essential administrative tasks relating to record keeping, creation of data for analysis, evidence for measuring objectives
• Creatively contribute to innovation and improvement of strategies and local activities
• Maintaining an understanding of regulations and requirements for provision of foster care services

Purpose of this commission

We are seeking experienced, values-led development support to build events participation and supporter conversion over six months through a realistic events programme, including Kiltwalk participation.

Scope and responsibilities

• Register the Trust for relevant Kiltwalk events, where registration is required, and maintain an events tracker.

• Develop a corporate recruitment approach, including targets, outreach templates and follow-ups.

• Produce a digital-first Fundraising Pack and supporter journey, including welcome, tips, story prompts, assets list, stewardship and a thank you pathway.

• Identify additional suitable events and recommend a realistic programme.

KPIs

• Trust registered with agreed Kiltwalk events in the period.

• For each Kiltwalk event, encourage corporate participation with up to 10 walkers per event, tracked through an outreach and sign-up funnel.

• Events programme proposal completed, including at least three additional opportunities assessed and recommended.

• Fundraising Pack completed and ready to deploy.

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly adaptable and experienced project development or fundraising professional to join our Project Development Group in Oxfordshire. In this pivotal role, you will drive the growth of CABI’s international development and publishing initiatives by identifying funding opportunities, supporting compelling bid development, and engaging with donors worldwide. While the role involves global engagement, you will also have the chance to specialize in cultivating UK funding streams, making a tangible impact on our ambitious projects around the world.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

CABI, in conjunction with our international donors and partners, implements and manages a wide range of initiatives around the world, ranging from research projects to rural development activities. The successful candidate will become part of the Project Development Group, supporting project development (finding funding sources, project design, proposal development) in all regions, helping CABI staff to articulate project ideas, develop logical frameworks and budgets, and ensuring that monitoring and evaluation, as well as important aspects such as gender perspectives, climate change and youth are addressed in CABI project proposals, during the project design/scoping phase. 

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Finance & Administrative Officer to join a friendly and collaborative organisation on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is a varied role that combines finance, payroll, and administrative support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple functions in a small, supportive team environment.
You will work closely with the Director of Finance and wider team to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day financial processes while also providing general administrative support when required.
Key Responsibilities

• Produce sales invoices and manage credit control processes
• Process purchase invoices and maintain the purchase ledger
• Raise purchase orders in line with internal requests
• Assist with month-end reconciliations and support the year-end audit process
• Process payment runs, reconcile bank and credit card transactions, and maintain accurate records
• Prepare and process the monthly payroll file and liaise with the external payroll provider, responding to payroll queries
• Maintain staff sickness and leave records, producing reports and statistics where required
• Process monthly pension uploads and payments
• Act as the first point of contact for finance-related queries
• Support the implementation of financial elements of projects or contracts where needed
• Provide administrative support to the wider team as required
• Undertake additional duties that support the efficient running of the organisation

About You
Essential

• Qualified to at least AAT Level 2
• Experience maintaining sales and purchase ledgers
• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• Good ICT skills, including Excel, Word, and accounting systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
• Positive, friendly, and team-focused approach
