The Development Executive is a professional fundraiser (ordinarily with some prior experience), with responsibility for devising, implementing, and collaborating on approaches to high-level philanthropic donors, and for working with DAE and academic colleagues to articulate cases for support, develop fundraising strategy and raise funds for priorities at the Ashmolean, Bodleian, Pitt Rivers Museum, Museum of Natural History, History of Science Museum and Botanic Garden and Arboretum.

Salary: Grade 7: annual progression from £39,424 - £47779 per annum, with a possible extension to £51,983 per year, including an Oxford University Weighting of £1,730 (pro rata)

The Community Engagement Coordinator will support the development of our partnership network and the delivery of our work in Wales. This will involve communicating and engaging, in person and online, with a range of delivery partners, building relationships, communicating about our work and coordinating the day-to-day operations of our programmes.  There will also be a level of general administration and support.

About Degrees

The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of the Global South to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM) geoengineering, a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that the Global South should be empowered to conduct its own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions. The initiative has been working in different forms for fifteen years, and our work receives worldwide coverage and widespread acclaim. 

We seek a Fundraising / Development Manager to manage relationships with our existing funders and to help bring in new donors and partners to diversify our funding base. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to increase the capacity of a field-leading charity, help empower the Global South, and contribute to one of the world’s most important climate-change debates. If you are an ambitious, relationship-driven fundraising leader with an interest in climate policy, science or global development, this is an opportunity to step into a role with purpose, international influence, and real impact.  

The charity is rapidly scaling up, recently doubling its annual budget to £6 million. Degrees has partnered with leading climate change funders and research partners including the Quadrature Climate Foundation, Open Philanthropy, Crankstart, Navigation Fund, Outlier Projects, LAD Climate Fund and UK Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA). Transparency of funding is essential to our work. Role

We now seek a full-time team member to build on this base. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and working closely with the Founder & CEO and the Chair of the Trustees, the Fundraising / Development Manager will support and coordinate fundraising efforts aimed at securing multi‑year, diversified funding. He / she will also introduce robust processes for pipeline management and donor stewardship, and will support and coordinate the complete donor lifecycle (from identification to cultivation to solicitation and stewardship) of a portfolio of top prospects. The post holder will receive initial onboarding support from the Senior Philanthropy Advisor. As fundraising grows, the team may expand in the future.

Initial priorities include expansion beyond the current donor pool, with a strong push to engage new funders, and putting in place the systems (CRM, reporting cadence, key performance indicators) to support growth at scale.

As this is a new role, responsibilities are expected to evolve but some key items will include: 

Strategy & planning

• Work with the CEO, COO, Senior Philanthropy Advisor, the Chair of the Trustees, and other senior staff to support the development and implementation of a multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with organisational objectives; 

Pipeline development & new opportunities 

• Maintain and coordinate the fundraising pipeline, supporting the fundraising activities of senior staff and the Chair; 

• Support the identification and development of new funding opportunities from trusts and foundations, government funders, and multilateral donors in the development and climate sectors on an ongoing basis; 

• Reach out to networks of climate philanthropy advisors for referrals; 

• Manage contact with funding opportunities; 

Grant writing 

• Draft and coordinate the preparation and submission of grant proposals; 

Donor stewardship & reporting 

• Maintain excellent relations with existing funders by keeping them informed on charity and sector updates, inviting them to events, and ensuring the delivery of annual reports and notices; 

• Ensure and manage ongoing reporting; 

Events & engagement 

• Working with the Events Manager, help design and deliver fundraising events for existing and potential funders, particularly in the UK and US; 

• Manage invitation lists, track attendance and ensure bespoke follow-up to attendees; 

• Assist in the design of events that will inspire and engage funders while involving Southern experts in the Degrees research community; 

• Coordinate all fundraising outreach and related programming for the Degrees Global Forum (a conference to be held in 2027); 

Processes, systems & administration 

• Support the development and implementation of structured processes across the entire fundraising and donor lifecycle; 

• Develop and track KPIs, providing regular reports to senior staff and the Trustees; 

• Be responsible for fundraising data, contacts and administrative records. 

Qualifications 

Essential 

• At least ten years’ experience in fundraising or transferrable relevant experience;

• Track record of helping secure six- and seven-figure grants income from foundations, major individual donors, and/or public agencies; 

• Strong organisational and project management skills; 

• Experience and comfort with Microsoft 365, fundraising CRMs and other common software tools; 

• Experience organising events; 

• Ability to write clearly and communicate effectively in English with a keen attention to detail; 

• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, including an ability to work with people of all levels and backgrounds; 

• Experience creating and maintaining fundraising processes; 

• Ability to adapt and remain comfortable in a dynamic, remote start-up environment in a small organisation;

We are looking for a creative and passionate person to be responsibile for securing financial support to sustain and grow the Charity's work. A priority is to lead a £3M campaign for a new building. 

Background

The history of our Charity stretches back over 230 years to the foundation of a school for the blind by Edward Rushton. Since 1898 the school has been based in Wavertree and in 2016 Rushton Futures opened alongside the school, providing a service for young adults aged 19+ with complex needs. 

About the Rushton Centre Project

The Development Manager's primary work in the initial phase of the role will be to direct a fundraising campaign for the new Rushton Centre. The Centre is being designed to meet the changing needs of the Charity. As well as a hydrotherapy pool, we want to open a cafe which will give young people with additional needs opportunity for work, and we want to create additional spaces. The Centre will cost an estimated £4M. The Trustees are in a position to contribute £1M from reserves, but the Development Manager will play a crucial role in designing and implementing a fundraising strategy for the remaining funds. 

Key Tasks

1. Develop and implement fundraising strategies and campaigns to meet organisational goals and ensure financial sustainability.

2. Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and foundations, including individuals, corporations, and community organisations.

3. Research and pursue grants and trusts applications, managing the process from start to finish.

4. Coordinate and oversee current charitable donations and legacies.

5. Work with colleagues at the Charity to identify funding priorities; liaise with key post-holders, including the Finance Manager, to meet audit and compliance requirements.

You will be enabling people to access support and navigate services,  You will be working in partnership with other agencies and making appropriate referrals for people to access other services to support their wider needs. You will contribute to wider team responsibilities including outreach, drop in and duty. 

To provide appropriate emotional and practical support to women in the sex industry and/or those who are being sexually exploited with a specific focus on those who are homeless and experiencing domestic violence and abuse. The women we support require intensive practical and emotional support as well as support navigating health and other social care or criminal justice systems. The women will have poor mental or physical health, experience with homelessness and of the criminal justice system, are often victims of sexual and/or domestic abuse and many are homeless. This post specifically will include a focus on domestic violence, sexual exploitation, sexual violence and housing. Working within a harm reduction ethos prioritising women’s safety and wellbeing, the intensive personalized supported will help women to access other services making appropriate referrals for women who wish to make changes, including exiting/transitioning out of sex work. You will be responsible for ensuring that women with varying needs are supported effectively throughout their pathway of support with Basis and partners, advocating for and with the women you are working with including where necessary challenging stigma and judgement women face.

Programme Manager – Financial Inclusion

Job Description  

Purpose of This Role: 

This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new three-year programme focused on strengthening the financial wellbeing of people living with multiple long-term conditions. Enabled by recently announced funding from The Aviva Foundation, the role will lead the design and development of an initiative that equips link workers with the skills, confidence, and resources to address financial hardship as an integral part of their practice. The post will play a crucial role in advancing NASP’s strategic ambition to influence and embed social prescribing across local, national, and international contexts  

This new role will lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of the three-year national programme, reporting to our Strategic Lead for Healthcare Integration & Neighbourhood Health to meet the programme priorities.  

The postholder will work in close partnership with key stakeholders to co-produce and lead the programme’s learning content, oversee the national training rollout, and support pilot delivery in two Primary Care Network (PCN) sites. The role will be central to capturing, synthesising, and embedding learning through peer-learning networks, wider evaluation partnerships, and ongoing engagement with our funder. This will support continuous improvement, evidence-based practice, and the successful scaling of the programme -contributing to a more integrated approach to financial wellbeing through social prescribing services.  

This role will sit within the Healthcare Integration Team and will work closely with colleagues across Evidence & Insights, International Social Prescribing, workforce developments and activity provider engagement.    

This role requires strategic insight, programme delivery expertise, stakeholder management capabilities and an understanding of the role of social prescribing in tackling financial hardship.   

Person Specification: 

Essential   

• Strong programme and project management skills including the coordination of multiple workstreams   

• Experience in either designing, developing and/or delivering training or learning programmes, ideally for social prescribing or health audiences  

• Strong understanding of financial hardship and financial inclusion, including welfare benefits, advice models and their relationships to health inequalities   

• Experience working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including people with lived experience.

About the role

As a Programme Manager – Networks and Engagement for the Cyber and Tech research group, you will be project managing and coordinating events for the Cyber Effects Network . You will also support the management of other projects and events, as well as coordinating the team’s external communications (e.g. newsletters and social media). The Woodland Trust is looking for a Site Manager - North East. This role will be responsible for Woodland Trust Sites in Durham and wider north-east England. This includes Low Burnhall a woodland creation site in the heart of Durham, Ragpath Wood a Plantation Ancient Woodland Site in the Deerness valley, several woodlands around Washington and other Woodland Trust sites across north-east England.

The Role:

• Manage a diverse portfolio of high-profile woodland sites in line with the UK Woodland Assurance Standard, including ancient woodland, designated sites, veteran trees and high-biodiversity areas.

• Carry out Woodland Condition Assessments and use findings to develop, write and implement long-term management plans.

The Candidate:

• You’ll have experience in forestry, conservation, land or woodland management, including sites of high conservation value.

Wintercomfort works with people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or with a history of homelessness. We provide services to aid every stage of recovery -from immediate basic welfare needs to long term help in identifying and dealing with the problems which are undermining their stability, and enabling them to engage with education, employment and specialist health services.  National statistics rank the numbers of rough sleepers in Cambridge within the highest 20 UK local authorities. 

Wintercomfort is the only day-time service in the city, providing year-round advice and support for homeless or vulnerably housed people. Over the past three decades Wintercomfort has continued to grow and adapt to meet the needs of the homeless community. 

Our specialist Housing Team provides expert advice and support to help people successfully navigate the search for housing and crucially, support them to sustain life away from the street. 

About you and the Role 

As a member of Wintercomfort’s Project Worker Team, reporting to the Senior Tenancy Support Officer the Tenancy Support & Financial Wellbeing Project Worker is responsible for delivering Wintercomfort’s specialist range of 1:1 Pre and Post Tenancy Support, implementing proactive, holistic strategies designed to prevent people from losing their homes, whilst simultaneously providing them with the financial tools and capability needed to sustain stability, aimed at empowering Service Users to move out of the spiral of homelessness and back into mainstream society, preventing homelessness and foster financial inclusion.

Key Responsibilities 

• To provide emotional and practical support and assistance to prepare and assist Service Users to move into accommodation once a placement is confirmed, working with internal and external colleagues. To work in a flexible manner within Wintercomfort and the wider community to provide outreach and support services in person, occasionally in exceptional circumstances this could include in their own home when accompanied with external partners also includes via text, email, telephone and video calls.   
• To provide a wide range of resettlement-based support along with the Senior Tenancy Support Officer to ensure Service Users access the most suitable housing pathway for their individual needs. To take the lead on all housing related referrals for Service Users. To ensure all suitable Service Users are registered and supported on Homelink. 
• To provide crucial assistance to tenants, focusing on maintaining tenancies, managing money and debt and improving overall financial stability – including, signposting, budgeting, welfare benefits checks, rent arrears support, setting-up and managing utilities, housing related life skills, offering guidance and support to enable Service Users to maintain their own homes, aiming to prevent eviction and enhance quality of life. 
• To provide on-going long term tenancy support to Service Users moving into independent living, this includes private rental housing or alternative housing pathways without any on site support. To assist with hand over post tenancy support to accommodation providers at a suitable point in the Service User support pathway, with the aim of enabling long-term independence.
• To ensure all Service Users have access to external grants and any available funding to support their individual needs to maintain their accommodation. Signposting and assisting with applications for funding to assist people moving into accommodation are supported with the appropriate items: floor coverings, white goods, basic furniture and home furnishings. 
• To support residents to keep their current homes, including mediation with landlords, accessing legal support on evictions, addressing anti-social behaviour, identifying high risk groups targeting support towards vulnerable groups such as those fleeing difficulties, leaving prison, hospital or care systems. 
• To ensure that accurate records are kept, documenting the support services provided to Wintercomfort’s service users onto the Salesforce/Inform system. Ensuring that record keeping meets the requirements of internal and external monitoring of outcomes, assisting with reports and case studies to the fundraising team.
