About the job role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor in our Estates team at St Joseph’s Hospice. We are looking for someone who has experience in managing and supporting the implementation of health and safety across an organisation. There will be a wide range of responsibilities from policy to the operational level. Activities range from office- and shop-based staff to health workers, outreach workers, and a small maintenance team.

In the 1980s, high unemployment and steep inflation was contributing to a shocking rise in youth homelessness across London. Thousands of young people were sleeping rough every night, with many areas notoriously dubbed “cardboard cities” due to the visible rise in street homelessness. What could my day look like?

The Education Worker role is a frontline, fast-paced and rewarding role where no two weeks will look the same. A typical day will have different activities, possibly spread between the IntoUniversity centre, partner schools and the offices of a corporate partner.

In the morning, you might be setting off with resources to run a workshop for sixth-form students in their secondary school. In the afternoon you may be setting up the classroom ahead of running Primary Academic Support for young people in your IntoUniversity centre. On other days, you may be travelling to a corporate partner to run a business simulation workshop for 15 year-olds or leading a group of final year primary school students on a campus visit for their graduation.

• Set up records and create case files on Salesforce for all legacy bequests received from solicitors and from notifications of bequests on the Smee and Ford website.
• Record the details of all legacy bequests in the case file on Salesforce.
• Set up a SharePoint folder for the notified legacy bequests.
• Upload all legacy documentation received into the legacy case files on salesforce and into the SharePoint folder.
• Respond to the solicitor or personal executor acknowledging the legacy bequest, thanking the next of kin on behalf of major giving and requesting any further documentation.
• Raise tasks on the salesforce legacy case files as a reminder to follow up with the solicitor or the personal executor as to the progress of the legacy administration.
• Correspond in a timely manner with solicitors and personal executors to enquire into progress of the legacy administration.
• Throughout the legacy administration process update the legacy case files with notes of the correspondence with the solicitor or personal executor.
• On receipt of the legacy income complete the documentation requested by the solicitor and close the legacy case file on Salesforce.
• Escalate any issues identified to the Finance Business Partner Income.
• Review the open legacy case files with the Finance Business Partner Income and follow up on actions raised.
• Highlight any improvements/enhancements to the legacy process to the Finance Business Partner Income.

This role sits within the well-established Saving Babies’ Lives Team, and this role is part of Sands’ drive to improve maternity and neonatal safety so that babies’ lives are saved, and inequalities are reduced.

Sands’ work to save babies lives focuses on the following objectives:

• Maternity and neonatal care is continually improved using research and evidence (including the experiences and perspectives of bereaved parents) to inform policy and practice

• All hospitals in the UK offer safe and personalised maternity and neonatal care

• Maternity and neonatal services have a culture which embraces and supports learning and improvement

The Research Officer will have experience of working with researchers, supporting the development of studies and identifying gaps in evidence, innovation and guidance. Excellent organisation, communication and relationship building skills are key for this role.

A collaborative and tenant focused Housing provider in London is looking to take on a Rent Recovery Officer in their welcoming team environment.  They believe in affordable, good quality houses and are committed to making a difference to their customers and communities in the local area.

They are looking to bring someone in for a minimum of 6 months with the high likelihood it is extended further.  The candidate will manage their patch of properties and are responsible for maximising rental income whilst providing great customer support.

Responsibilities:

• Lead on rent accounts and be the point of contact for tenants for queries
• Maximise income recovery through intervention
• Follow landlord approved escalation processes and procedures
• Hit personal and team KPI’s and help with the take-up of Universal Credit

Requirements:

• Knowledge of income management and relevant housing legislation
• Understanding of welfare benefits and use of financial records and IT systems
• Strong customer service and working well in a team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders

Ladywood Community Lead

Salary £27,583 per annum pro rata 

21 hours per week (flexible)

Birmingham Settlement is seeking an enthusiastic and community-minded individual to join our Neighbourhood Network Scheme team as Community Lead. Working as part of the NNS team, you will be on the ground in Ladywood mapping local assets, building partnerships, identifying gaps in provision, and championing co-production and citizen voice. You will directly support Birmingham City Council's prevention-first approach to adult social care. Your focus will be on adults aged 18-49 living with long-term disabilities, ensuring they can access community-based support and lead happy, healthy and independent lives.

Alongside this, you will support local organisations through small grant applications and the wider capacity-building programme, whilst representing NNS across community events, steering groups and citywide forums, as detailed in the job description.
