The Hepatitis C Trust (HCT) is the UK patient-led charity for hepatitis C. The arrival of highly effective drugs allows us to cure almost everyone who has access to them. We now have an unprecedented opportunity to eliminate hepatitis C by 2030.
We are looking for a passionate and skilled manager who has excellent communication and organisational skills. Working under the guidance of the Southern Regional Manager, you will oversee an expanding network of peer programs and staff in London.
Experience of healthcare working with disadvantaged groups and an understanding of providing services to vulnerable people is essential, alongside an understanding of how lived experience can support this work.
Your work will involve maintaining and monitoring our existing HCT peer projects across London. This will involve providing support and supervision to existing staff, managing operational issues on a day-to-day basis and overseeing the management of separate projects.
This post also involves regular liaison with external partners across the region, including key stakeholders such as Operational Delivery Network (ODN) managers for each area, alongside senior NHS colleagues, drug and alcohol services etc.

Background to the role
Our Head of People is currently on Maternity leave until February 2027. During this period, we are strengthening the People function and are seeking an HR Officer to support the interim Head of People to deliver effective support while we align our staff and volunteering processes; this role will support both areas with a focus on HR.
Our Operations Coordinator carries out staff recruitment, onboarding and offboarding work. The HR Officer may help with this from time to time, but it won’t be a substantive part of the job.

Work with the Head of People to:

Contract type

Between £29,340 – 32,430 Plus 5% employer pension contribution. Organisational annual pay award pending
Salaries are based on our salary bands system. This salary range refers to the lowest and top steps of the grade. Salary will progress every year until the top salary is reached.
Holiday entitlement
25 days (pro-rata for part time) of paid holiday per year plus bank holidays. This increases after two years of service to 27 days, and then a further one day per every year of service up to a maximum of 30 days after five years of service. In addition, all employees are entitled to one day off on (or around) their Birthday.

This role works to raise awareness of the issues faced by people around the world who have lost their homes to disaster. It generates positive media coverage for ShelterBox, positioning us as experts in emergency shelter, as well as supporting fundraising with media engagement and PR activities. The role also works to ensure colleagues across the organisation can talk about our work accurately and consistently by producing key messaging about our international programmes.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
ShelterBox is seeking an experienced, motivated and proactive communications professional with excellent attention to detail and line-management experience.
You will be skilled in writing a variety of materials - including press releases, statements, and Q&As, and in simplifying complex information. You will also understand the nuance of language, ensuring messaging reflects dignity, avoids harmful narratives and upholds humanitarian neutrality in sensitive contexts.
You will enjoy finding strong stories and ensuring they are told ethically. You will be experienced in creating news, working with the media and contributing to multiple projects at pace.
We are looking for someone with experience in crisis communications who can help protect and enhance our reputation by identifying potential issues early. You will also have experience delivering media interview training, building confidence in spokespeople, and supporting them through briefings and interviews.
You will have experience of line management. You will have experience of working with a direct report to develop their abilities and support them to be motivated and produce great work.

MAIN ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This role works as part of a small and dynamic Communications & Digital team and has direct line management of our Comms & PR Officer. You will focus on gaining media coverage for our international programmes, understanding the issues and opportunities of our work and securing impactful media interviews. You will support our fundraising campaigns and events with media engagement.
You will work closely with the Head of Global Communications & Digital and colleagues across the Fundraising & Communications department to develop and deliver communications and media engagement activities supporting campaigns and driving awareness.

In this role you’ll help drive forward our ambitious five-year fundraising strategy as we continue to grow income year on year to have the biggest impact for men. About the Role

The Joint Public Issues Team (JPIT) is recruiting to two full time paid internship positions to start in September 2026.
Interns work as part of a small ecumenical team on a diverse range of tasks and initiatives including communications, policy, campaigning and supporter engagement, contributing to the public advocacy and political engagement work of the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches.
JPIT is a partnership between the Baptist Union of Great Britain, the Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church, and the Church of Scotland is an associate partner. Its purpose is to help the Churches to work together for peace and justice through listening, learning, praying, speaking and acting on public policy issues. It is a team which brings together around ten staff working across the denominations. In recent years it has focused on issues around poverty, the economy, refugees and migration, the environment, peace and conflict, and politics.
These internships provide opportunities to develop skills in campaigning, communications, research, and policy within a dynamic team environment. There will be opportunities for professional and personal learning and development to equip the intern for further employment after their time on the internship. About the role
We are recruiting for a Senior Research Communications Officer to join on a fixed-term contract for 12 months. This is a home-based role, working full-time, 35 hours per week.
Research is central to our mission and ambition. With a portfolio of more than 100 active grants worth over £50 million, we are committed to accelerating progress and ensuring that breakthroughs in dementia research are clearly understood, widely shared and effectively championed.
As Senior Research Communications Officer you’ll use your understanding of biomedical research and your extensive communication skills to convey complex research content to a range of audiences in a clear and engaging manner. The research content will be both from our own research portfolio and from the wider research field through our Mail Metro partnership and wider media outlets.
You will lead on the coordination and planning of research-related content that we can amplify through our Mail Metro Media partnership, both editorial and social media content, as well as wider proactive research media content across other outlets. As a member of the team you will support activities that enable us to gather evidence to better understand peoples’ experiences, across the full spectrum of lived experience of dementia. - Full clean UK driving licence with access to a vehicle with business insurance.
- Commitment to safeguarding and adherence to all safeguarding policies.
- Commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging – inclusive, anti-discriminatory and culturally aware practice.
- Active engagement in learning, meetings, awaydays and organisation wide events.
- Willingness to work out of hours, travel and attend events as needed.
