ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic graduate to join our central team as one of three Harris Experience Programme Leads. The Harris Experience is a cultural and academic programme for our most able students in the Harris Federation, aiming to support them in getting placed at top universities and degree apprenticeships. The name ‘Harris Experience’ incorporates all of the specific programmes below.

You will be based at the Harris Federation head office in Croydon; however, most of your time will be spent visiting our academies in and around London. You will work closely with the Head of Harris Experience and the other Harris Experience Lead on programme vision, strategy and management.

Specifically, the role is to jointly support our team in leading our various educational programmes: the Harris Experience (HE), the Harris Experience Advanced (HEA), the Harris Scholars (HS) and the Harris Scholars Advanced (HSA), which are already in place from Year 9 through to Year 13.

The HE programme spans three years for each cohort, from Year 9 to Year 11; the HEA programme spans two years for each cohort, from Year 12 to Year 13. These programmes aim to broaden the cultural and academic experiences of some of our brightest disadvantaged young secondary students in the federation, preparing them to apply to the UK’s top university destinations and apprenticeships.

You will also be supporting our Harris Scholars (HS) and Harris Scholars Advanced (HSA) programmes which are specialised Oxbridge/medicine programmes. The HS programme spans two years for each cohort from Year 10 to Year 11; the HSA programme spans two years for each cohort, from Years 12 to Year 13.

Educational innovation will be encouraged and will be strongly tied to overall programme goals.

This role is offered on a three-year fixed-term contract, starting as soon as possible.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing the vision for the HE, HEA, HS and HSA programmes.
• Initial identification of suitable students for entry into HE for Year 9, HS for Year 10, and HEA/HSA for Year 12
• Visiting academies regularly to meet students and/or staff
• Building a relationship with and supporting/training the academies’ most able coordinators (MACs)
• Developing programme materials and disseminating good practice at the academies for the most able
• Planning and delivering the federation most able meetings
• Organising and delivering one to one and group sessions with HE and HEA students at academies
• Organising events for the HS and HSA students
• Support the HSA subject societies
• Liaising with academy principals and relevant staff
• Working closely with Oxbridge and medicine, dentistry, and veterinary science students and tracking outcomes
• Organising and delivering the mock interview programme
• Overseeing the Oxbridge, medicine and Russell Group/Sutton Trust 30 UCAS applications and tracking outcomes
• Leading on the guidance for university personal statements, training teachers and working directly with students
• Working on ad hoc Harris Experience events at academies for Years 7 and 8 most able students
• Using UCAS, Bromcom and federation/academy data to track student progress
• Organising and leading the key annual HE, HEA and HS and HSA events
• Managing the output of written, social and visual media to generate positive marketing of the HE, HEA, HS and HSA programmes, eg: bulletins, news articles
• Developing and maintaining university and career-related links with relevant organisations.
• Developing and updating the HE and HEA website.
• Working with federation careers advisers to support the aspirations and destinations of HE and HEA students

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

The role involves supporting service users from referral through admission, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met while collaborating with clinical teams for smooth transitions. Staff provide activities and interventions to help reduce crises, identify triggers, and create safety plans that promote mental health and prevent hospital admissions. One-on-one sessions are conducted to develop wellness recovery action plans, set SMART goals, and build social networks, alongside practical life skills training such as food preparation. Staff also liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies, deliver post-admission welfare support, and maintain high living standards between admissions, all while engaging in professional development to address challenges like self-harm and substance use.

The position emphasizes teamwork, co-production, and administrative duties. Staff collaborate with Recovery Workers and management to deliver a team-based approach, promote services, and support user engagement in peer-led activities and forums. They are responsible for maintaining accurate service user records, monitoring service upkeep, ensuring health and safety compliance, and working with multi-agency providers under governance protocols. Additionally, they contribute to developing service standards, follow policies and legislation, report maintenance issues, and undertake additional duties as required, always upholding health and safety rules and procedures.

Here's what the team will be looking for

The role requires demonstrable experience supporting people with mental health and complex needs, along with a strong understanding of recovery approaches and co-production. Staff should be able to design and deliver activities that reduce anxiety, build confidence, and support individuals in creating their own recovery journeys. This includes engaging service users in assessments, co-producing and reviewing support and safety plans, and maintaining accurate monitoring records for internal use and external reporting. A good knowledge of legislation, including welfare reform, the Care Act, and housing pathways, is essential, as well as the ability to handle financial transactions accurately and use IT systems, including MS Office and case management tools.

Flexibility and resilience are also key, with the need to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, while maintaining high service standards in unpredictable or challenging situations. The role requires excellent stakeholder relationship skills and the motivation to deliver consistent, high-quality support. An understanding of basic building safety issues and the ability to identify repairs is desirable. Overall, the position combines strong technical knowledge, administrative accuracy, and interpersonal skills to ensure effective support and recovery-focused care for service users.

The role

Gambling Support Practitioners at GamCare ensure that psychosocial and recovery support interventions are delivered as part of a cohesive recovery plan, working collaboratively with external and partner organisations to achieve positive outcomes for people affected by gambling harms.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing face to face and online advice, assessment, brief and structured interventions to help clients achieve their recovery goals, using motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural approaches
• Providing safe and effective support to individuals whilst managing safeguarding issues in line with safeguarding procedures and policies
• Developing collaborative working relationships with external agencies, professionals and groups to facilitate multi agency approaches and holistic support
• Developing relationships with local services and communities to support the identification of gambling harms in individuals and strengthen pathways into the service
• Participation in service promotion, networking activities and events to support visibility and ongoing development of the service, and to proactively respond to the needs identified within the region

This is a home based position with the requirement to travel across Greater London.

We are looking for an individual to work full-time which will include a mix of 9-5pm and 12-8pm fixed shifts per week, depending on service requirements.

You will work Monday to Friday, with potentially occasional Saturdays (9-2pm remotely) due to possible requirements of the service, however another day off would be agreed on during the week.

About you

You should have significant experience in individual client work in the field of addictions, mental health or a social care setting with adults or young people. You should be flexible in using a range of low and high-intensity interventions and modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) tools.

You will be expected to live within a reasonable distance from the GamCare London office due to expectations of working from the office when required, as well as being able to travel to other locations across Greater London to deliver services or attend community events.

The role 

Gambling Support Practitioners at GamCare ensure that psychosocial and recovery support interventions are delivered as part of a cohesive recovery plan, working collaboratively with external and partner organisations to achieve positive outcomes for people affected by gambling harms.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing face to face and online advice, assessment, brief and structured interventions to help clients achieve their recovery goals, using motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural approaches

This is a home based position with the requirement to travel across the East Midlands. This will vary but could be 2-3 days a week

We are looking for an individual to work full-time which will include a mix of 9-5pm and 12-8pm fixed shifts per week, depending on service requirements.

You will work Monday to Friday, with potentially occasional Saturdays (9-2pm remotely) due to possible requirements of the service, however another day off would be agreed on during the week.

About you

You should have significant experience in individual client work in the field of addictions, mental health or a social care setting with adults or young people. 2wish Cymru & 2wish:

2wish has been established since 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. During tis time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death.

We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under in Wales and the bordering counties in England, including; Cheshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Avon and Somerset, with the plan to continue to roll out support to the whole of England. We work in partnership with professionals who refer int the charity on behalf of families, so they don’t have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.

Context of role:

2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We are an All-Wales and part England charity providing immediate casework support, as well as ongoing aftercare services including counselling, alternative therapies, play therapy, support groups, support events and a respite cottage.

The post holder will provide immediate and ongoing emotional and practical support to families affected by the sudden and unexpected death of their child or young adult.

Main duties:

Service:

• To initiate immediate support for a caseload of families whose children and young people aged 0-25 have died suddenly and unexpectedly across the region
• To contact all families within 24-48 hours of the referrals by telephone
• Complete an initial assessment of families’ needs to identify and plan the support as required in line with safeguarding and risk reduction
• Offer emotional support and advice to a case load of families through home visits and ongoing weekly telephone calls
• To liaise with the Counselling Support and Outreach Coordinator, who is responsible for organising formal support such as counselling, complementary therapy or play therapy, subject to consent from the bereaved individual
• To work with hospital staff, GP’s, police officers, coroner offices, mental health teams and other healthcare professionals to raise awareness of and promote referrals into the charity
• To liaise with other professionals working alongside the family to provide a holistic and multi-agency approach to support
• Attend relevant forums within the area
• To deliver awareness training in hospitals and other healthcare settings, schools and workplaces on the use of the bereavement boxes, referring into the charity and bereavement awareness
• To monitor the use of the memory boxes and ensure families have been offered a memory box
• To work with hospital trusts to establish and maintain the upkeep of suitable bereavement suites for bereaved individuals to use as required
• Facilitate debriefs within professional settings following a traumatic or sudden death of a child or young person
• Maintain stock of 2wish memory boxes and deliver boxes to partner organisations as required
• To submit monthly/quarterly/annual reports to Bereavement Services Manager as required
• To signpost and/or refer to other agencies as required that can provide support as needed
• Cover members of the support team for annual leave and/or sickness

General:

• To be responsible for organising own work agenda, time management and administration
• To show respect and sensitivity for the cultural and religious beliefs of families
• To undertake learning opportunities and seek them out for the team
• To adhere to all company policies and procedures including Safeguarding, Confidentiality, Health and Safety and Lone Working; and to be proactive in implementing new safe working practices as appropriate
• To attend weekend and evening community events in support of the charity as necessary

Contract type: Permanent
