Role Overview:
The Talent Set are delighted to partner with the UK’s leading breast cancer charity, on an exciting PR Officer opportunity.

The successful candidate will play a key role in leading media relations, creating impactful content and elevating the charity's profile across the UK media. This role is central to raising awareness of breast cancer, strengthening public understanding and ensuring the charity is seen as a trusted and authoritative voice on breast cancer research, care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and nurture trusted relationships with national, regional and specialist journalists to increase media engagement and understanding of their work.
• Identify and activate media opportunities that position the charity as a leading and trusted authority in breast cancer awareness, research and support.
• Create compelling media content including press releases, statements, blogs and case studies, ensuring timely internal approval and distribution.
• Support media interviews and prepare  spokespeople, ensuring messaging is clear, accurate and impactful.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on media coverage, producing regular impact reports for senior stakeholders and insights to inform future PR activity.
• Manage relationships with media monitoring agencies and external partners to optimise coverage tracking and evaluation.
• Integrate PR activity with digital communication channels to ensure consistent messaging and maximise reach.
• Assist with out-of-hours media support and organisational events when required, ensuring the charity’s voice remains professional and responsive.
• Collaborate with internal teams including campaigns, research, policy, fundraising and support services to align messaging and amplify key initiatives.

Person Specification:

• Significant experience working within a fast-paced press office, PR agency or media environment, with a proven track record of securing positive media coverage.
• Exceptional relationship-building skills with journalists, stakeholders and internal teams.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong eye for storytelling, accuracy and clarity.
• A creative approach to identifying media angles and bringing stories to life for diverse audiences.
• Resourceful, adaptable and confident using digital tools and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Thorough understanding of the UK media landscape and what makes a story newsworthy.

What’s on Offer

• Salary: £31,000 - £33,500
• Location: Hybrid with 2 days per week in the Central London office

Working as part of a dedicated Education team, you’ll provide essential operational support across the full examination lifecycle. From scheduling and candidate communications to logbook management and exam-day delivery, you’ll help ensure everything runs smoothly and on time.

Key Responsibilities
 

• Managing Clinical Placement Logbooks (digital and paper-based)
• Scheduling examinations and responding to candidate queries
• Supporting OSCE exam days (attendance required)
• Processing results accurately and to tight deadlines
• Maintaining and manipulating data using CRM systems
• Ensuring GDPR compliance and handling sensitive data appropriately
• Updating examination documentation and website content
• Liaising confidently with internal teams, examiners and candidates

 
What We’re Looking For
 

• Experience in assessment, examinations, or qualification delivery
• Strong data management, analysis and reporting skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
• Confidence handling confidential and sensitive information
• Highly organised with the ability to manage competing deadlines
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel

The Financial Controller is a key role within the Finance team, supporting the Finance Director to deliver a high-quality, efficient and forward-thinking finance function across a uniquely diverse, highly commercial and operationally complex organisation.

The role:

• Support the Finance Director in delivering a robust and effective finance function, providing technical expertise and operational leadership across the organisation.
• Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements and play a central role in managing the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and stakeholders.
• Drive the implementation of a new accounting system, improving processes, reporting capability and financial insight across the organisation.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, financial controls and process improvements to ensure accuracy, transparency and strong governance.
• Lead on payroll financial control and reporting, ensuring data integrity and robust processes.
• Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts across multiple entities, identifying risks and supporting decision-making.
• Provide financial leadership on capital projects, supporting accounting and financial oversight of major developments on site.

Essential criteria:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant relevant experience
• Demonstrable experience in a Financial Controller or similar role within a complex organisation
• Experience preparing statutory accounts within the charity / not-for-profit sector
• Experience managing external audits and working closely with auditors
• Strong financial control and balance sheet management experience
• Experience leading or supporting finance system implementation or process improvement
• Proven line management experience and ability to develop teams
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders

This role will be based at Alexandra Palace with regular on-site presence required to support collaboration across the organisation.
