Job description

Are you a skilled storyteller who wants to help create a thriving future for people and nature along our coastline?

National Trails UK is recruiting a Communications Officer to grow the profile of Coastal Wildbelt, a national initiative connecting coastal people, projects, ideas and investment.

You’ll turn local projects and partnerships into compelling stories, helping great ideas reach new audiences and attract support.

Salary: £32,000
Location: Remote, with occasional UK travel
Contract: Full-time, two-year fixed-term contract
Application deadline: 12pm, Friday 6 November 2026

  • Manage website content, LinkedIn and other social media channels.
  • Create newsletters, blogs and news stories.
  • Build relationships with members, partners and coastal communities.
  • Support event communications, media activity and the commissioning of creative content.
  • Monitor communications performance and identify opportunities to grow our reach.

What you’ll bring

Excellent writing and storytelling skills, experience delivering communications campaigns, and confidence managing social media, email newsletters and WordPress content. You’ll be organised, adaptable and proactive, with a commitment to inclusive communications and a passion for connecting people with nature along our amazing coastline.

You’ll join a small, collaborative charity working entirely remotely. Occasional travel is required, with programme travel expenses covered. Some out-of-hours working may be needed during busy periods.
