Veterans Community Occupational Therapist
Location: Remote working
We have two positions available – one based in the North of England and one based in the South of England.
- North: Preferably based in North-West England, including Manchester, Liverpool, Preston, Blackpool and surrounding areas.
- South: Preferably based in Salisbury or the surrounding areas.
We are open to candidates who live further afield, where the location is within a reasonable travelling distance for the community-based requirements of the role.
Both positions involve community-based travel as part of the role, as well as occasional UK-wide travel to attend face-to-face clinical and wider team meetings (approximately 4–5 times per year).
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week

Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Digital Engagement
Lead the development and day-to-day management of MOVE Against Cancer’s social media channels. Create engaging content that encourages and supports people affected by cancer to move more and stay active. Develop and share regular content to show what MOVE are working on including: movement tips educational content participant stories programme highlights expert insights Build and nurture an online community around movement and cancer. Increasing our engagement. Monitor engagement and use insights to improve reach and impact.
Digital Resources and Educational Content
Lead our resource advisory group and resource development projects. Develop, share and maintain online resources that support people living with and beyond cancer. Website Development
Working in partnership with our digital agency, lead the development, testing and improvement of website content. Ensure resources are easy to find, well organised and regularly updated. Create new pages and digital content that support both beneficiaries and partners.
Multimedia Content Creation and Sharing
Produce and manage multimedia digital content, including: short videos photography participant interviews educational content Capture stories that highlight the benefits of movement during and after cancer treatment.
Content Planning and Coordination
Manage a digital content calendar across social media and the website. Coordinate contributions from staff, partners and participants. Ensure consistency in tone, accessibility and messaging.
Data, Learning and Impact
Help us gather data and understand data. Use analytics to understand how people engage with digital content. Support the development of feedback and impact surveys for beneficiaries. Contribute to improvements in digital systems or databases where relevant. Lead the adoption of AI‑driven tools, ensuring our team, Trustees and volunteers understand how to use emerging technologies responsibly and effectively. Person Specification
Essential skills and experience
Experience creating and managing digital content across platforms, particularly social media and websites. Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging and accessible content such as articles, guides, and online resources. Experience planning and delivering social media content and engagement. Experience managing or updating website content (e.g. CMS platforms such as WordPress or similar). PWS is a rare and isolating condition and our ambition it to reach families in Northern Ireland to provide impactful advice, support, information and training. About the Role
Working directly with people accessing our services, you will provide tailored one-to-one support and deliver engaging group workshops that help individuals gain essential life skills.
You will support people to improve their financial wellbeing, maintain their health and wellbeing, prepare for independent living and develop the confidence required to sustain successful tenancies. You will also continue to provide support to individuals after they leave HHP accommodation, helping them maintain their homes and avoid returning to homelessness.
No two days will be the same, but every day will offer the opportunity to help someone move closer to achieving their goals.
Key Responsibilities
One-to-One Coaching and Support
- Conduct assessments to identify clients’ strengths, aspirations and barriers to independence.
- Develop personalised action plans alongside service users and support staff.
- Provide practical guidance around budgeting, debt management, benefits, cooking and healthy living.
- Support clients to understand tenancy rights and responsibilities.
- Help individuals prepare for independent living and maintain successful tenancies after moving on from HHP accommodation.
- Build positive, supportive relationships that encourage confidence, resilience and personal growth.
Group Workshops and Activities
- Design and deliver engaging workshops covering life skills, literacy, digital skills, communication and emotional wellbeing.
- Support service users to develop practical financial skills, including budgeting, saving and accessing appropriate benefits.
- Work alongside colleagues to organise activities that promote physical health, mental wellbeing and social inclusion.
- Encourage and support clients to maintain a clean, safe and healthy living environment.
Partnership Working and Administration
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of support provided and progress achieved.
- Work collaboratively with HHP colleagues and external agencies to deliver holistic support.
- Signpost clients to specialist services including mental health support, addiction recovery services, housing providers, training and education opportunities.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive and person-centred culture across the organisation.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Financial Controller to join our senior team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial sustainability and growth of our organisation.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Financial Controller will oversee all financial and accounting activities across the organisation. Working closely with our Finance Officer, management team, Treasurer and Board of Trustees, you will ensure robust financial management, compliance with charity accounting standards, and provide strategic financial insight to support organisational decision-making.
You will take ownership of financial reporting, budgeting, cashflow forecasting, year-end accounts and audit preparation, while also helping to identify opportunities to strengthen financial performance and improve systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day financial management of the charity.
- Prepare timely and accurate management accounts and financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with charity accounting regulations and SORP requirements.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, forecasting and financial planning.
- Manage cashflow and support organisational risk management.

Working across our hostel, Springboard Day Centre and supported accommodation, you will provide person-centred support in a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental environment. You’ll be part of a supportive team committed to empowering women to achieve positive outcomes and maintain sustainable tenancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support and assistance to female clients living within our hostel and supported accommodation.
- Deliver a professional and welcoming reception service to clients, visitors and members of the public.
- Support the induction of new female residents, ensuring all relevant paperwork and processes are completed.
- Work closely with caseworkers to encourage and support clients to engage with agreed support activities and appointments.
- Build positive, professional and trusting relationships with clients, providing practical and emotional support where appropriate.
- Maintain a safe, non-discriminatory and inclusive environment for all clients.
- Manage client behaviour in accordance with organisational policies and procedures, issuing warnings and evictions where necessary.
- Collect service charges and donations, ensuring accurate cash handling and record keeping.
- Maintain accurate client records, support notes and incident logs using HHP’s database systems.
- Carry out health and safety checks, including room inspections, to ensure accommodation remains safe and suitable.
- Support the reporting and resolution of maintenance issues within client accommodation.
- Assist clients with housing benefit applications and related documentation.
- Support the induction and supervision of volunteers.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers and partner agencies to achieve positive client outcomes.
- Contribute to fundraising events, promotional activities and the wider work of the charity.

As Activities Coordinator, you will design, coordinate and deliver a varied timetable of recreational, educational and wellbeing activities, working alongside clients, colleagues, volunteers and community partners to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where people can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and deliver a diverse programme of activities including arts and crafts, music, cooking, gardening, fitness, wellbeing and life-skills workshops.
- Develop weekly and monthly activity schedules that meet the varied interests and support needs of clients.
- Adapt activities to suit different abilities, confidence levels and individual circumstances.
- Create a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment that encourages participation and social connection.
