The Charity
Act4Africa UK supports the work of Act4Africa Uganda, an award-winning development organization based in Mayuge District with a 20-year track record of successful poverty relief and women’s empowerment programmes. Act4Africa addresses extreme poverty by tackling gender inequality via health, education, agriculture, and livelihoods interventions. The Role
This is a unique opportunity to work with a friendly and passionate team to have a direct impact on helping girls and women in Uganda. This is primarily a donor-facing role, however unlike similar roles in larger organisations, you will be directly connected with our programme team who are delivering poverty relief interventions on the ground. This role is a great step up for someone who has been working in fundraising but is looking for the opportunity to develop their skills, take on more responsibility, and make a real difference. The role is also ideal for someone who is looking for flexibility as you will work remotely and your working pattern can be planned around your personal situation and goals. This role is ideal for someone who is self-driven, passionate and wants to make a real impact.
As the Fundraiser at Act4Africa UK, you will lead and develop the individual giving programmes, inspiring and motivating donors to engage with the organisation more often and more deeply.
You will develop existing and new propositions, products, audiences, channels, and technology and deliver creative supporter journeys that build long-term loyalty and value.
Job Description
You will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the Senior Leaderships Team to:
- Lead on and manage all communications with individual donors, building and strengthening relationships
- Develop and enhance the supporter journey, creating an inspiring donor experience that builds long-term engagement
- Provide insight and evaluation on the donor audience, campaign performance and opportunities
- Increase our regular and one off donations
- Assist with budgets
- Work with the other team members to manage major donor giving
- Work with the Marketing Manager to reach a wider audience, developing and implementing marketing campaigns
- Work with the Finance Manager to monitor income and financial targets
- Work collaboratively to strengthen our fundraising strategy and systems
- Support the fundraising and communications activities of the team in Uganda
- Support the Senior Leadership Team with other tasks when required
About You
Essential Experience and Qualities:
- Enthusiasm for the role, a team spirit, and a can-do attitude
- Flexibility; willingness to take on new tasks related to fundraising or logistics as the need arises
- Creativity and an eye for detail
- Experience of successful individual giving income generation and management
- Previous work experience in a charity or non-profit organisation
- Previous experience of creating activity programmes and business plans to recruit, engage, inspire and retain donors
- Experience of creating and delivering multi-channel campaigns and using digital channels to acquire new donors
- A track record of providing excellent customer and/or donor care
- Experience of using a CRM database, audience segmentation and using data analytics
- Solid knowledge of the regulatory environment for fundraising from individuals, including data protection, Gift Aid and fundraising codes of practice and regulation
- Good analytical, forecasting and numeracy skills
- Proficiency in emailing systems such as Mailchimp

The Counselling Coordinator role is key to SEL Mind's exciting new counselling service for Black residents of Southwark, delivered as part of the wider Southwark Wellbeing Hub. This role will shape the Wellbeing Hub's provision to Black communities, expanding equitable access to culturally-appropriate support. The main working site is a community centre in Southwark.
As Coordinator, you will provide initial clinical assessments to prospective service users and coordinate a small pool of Trainee Counsellors, expanding future access to Black-led counselling. You'll line manage an Administrator who is responsible for scheduling and other practical elements of the service. You'll also work closely in partnership with Black Psychotherapy to deliver relevant, de-colonial approaches.
We are seeking a qualified therapist who is passionate about improving Black people's access to early mental health support. Relationships and partnership working is vital, so you should be able to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative.
The role will involve:
- Undertaking skilled assessments of client needs and risks, taking into account the nature and complexity of presenting needs and suitability for short-term therapeutic work
- Recruiting and training volunteer Counsellors, ensuring trauma-informed work integrating spirituality and cultural values, using creative therapeutic modalities, and maintaining therapeutic relationships that honour diverse healing approaches
- Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of the service, bringing recommendations to support the SWH's inclusivity and best practice

MindWorks is a research programme designed as a randomised controlled trial to test a specialist intervention for young people at risk of school exclusion due to challenging behaviour. Grounded in CBT and systemic approaches and underpinned by a strong anti-racist framework, the programme recognises the impact of structural inequality and works closely with schools, families and communities, with young people recruited directly through education settings.

What you’ll do
You will deliver a structured, short-term intervention (typically over eight weeks) to young people and their parent or carer, combining therapeutic work with collaboration across the wider school network, including trusted adults. The role is outreach-based, primarily taking place in schools, family homes and community settings. It involves providing direct clinical support, working systemically with families and education staff, and contributing to a wider research trial while applying evidence-based, trauma-informed and mentalisation approaches.
What you’ll bring
Please note: a three-week training programme in the intervention and trial requirements will start on 24 August 2026. You must be available to complete this comprehensive training, which is a core requirement for the role. This is non-negotiable.
Essential requirements:
Proven therapeutic experience in supporting young people in community and education settings, working systemically with families and other key adults.
Relevant qualifications and expertise: training in psychology or a related mental health field, with the ability to deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people.
Cultural competence and inclusion: ability to work effectively across diverse cultural contexts, applying inclusive, anti-discriminatory practices within clinical work.
Strong communication and collaboration: skilled at building relationships, communicating complex ideas clearly, and working with multiple stakeholders while using supervision effectively.
Organisation, safeguarding, and research commitment: capable of managing workload across settings, maintaining accurate records, applying safeguarding standards, and engaging fully with research trial requirements.
Key details
Hours: full-time, 35 hours per week.
Salary: £32,136 FTE per annum, plus 6% contributory pension scheme.
Location: community sites, schools and colleges, and Anna Freud (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH). Face to face delivery predominantly. Ability to travel is essential and travel expenses will be paid. The schools taking part in the Mindworks trial for the first term (September – December 2026) are based in Dagenham, Borehamwood, Tilbury and Bedfordshire. You will be allocated to a school in one of these areas for the term and must be willing to commute there daily. From January 2027, school recruitment will be focused on the London / Greater London area.
Contract type: starting on 24 August 2026 (non-negotiable), fixed-term until July 2028.

What does this role do?
As Project Delivery Manager, you’ll:
- drive, facilitate and coordinate the delivery of multiple projects taking place across the division, from building detailed project plans to chasing up actions; you’ll be across all parts of each project,
- monitor progress of existing projects, ensuring interdependencies are managed, actions are moving forward, spend is monitored and everything stays on track,

The role

You’ll take the lead in managing and growing our social media presence, creating compelling and engaging content that connects with our audiences and supports our organisational objectives. Working in line with our social media strategy, you’ll oversee day-to-day activity across our channels, identify opportunities to increase engagement, and use insights to continuously improve performance. Alongside social media management, you’ll be responsible for writing, editing, proofreading and publishing a wide range of content across digital and print platforms. The 999 Club has stood on the corner of Deptford Broadway for more than 30 years, working with and supporting the local community. Our focus now is on people who are street homeless, rough sleeping or precariously unhoused and those who have no recourse to public funds. As we are the 999 Club, everyone connected to us are our members.
The Gateway
Our day centre, The Gateway, is open five days a week and provides a welcoming, safe and friendly space where our members can spend time away from their usual situation and sort out practicalities like getting laundry done, taking a shower, charging their phone and having something to eat. It’s where our Intervention Team are often based as part of their work, empowering our members.
The Intervention Team
Working alongside the Essential Services Team and an amazing team of volunteers the Intervention Team provide triage, assessment, holistic progression planning, advocacy and support for members of the Gateway, identifying and addressing their immediate housing situation as well as wider social, health and wellbeing issues with the ultimate aim of them finding a pathway out of homelessness.

We’re recruiting a Complex Intervention Worker to work alongside Gateway members who are experiencing homelessness with overlapping challenges such as addiction, trauma or mental ill health. This would best suit someone with experience or really solid transferable skills.
