About the role:

Porchlight is dedicated to supporting people facing homelessness, poor mental health, and poverty. Our donors are at the heart of everything we do, and we are looking for a strategic and visionary Supporter Development Manager to lead our individual giving and legacy programmes at a pivotal moment for the charity.

While you will be based at our Canterbury office (with a required attendance of every Tuesday to collaborate with the team), you will also benefit from our hybrid working policy.

You will lead on understanding our audiences and developing compelling donor journeys that build long-term, sustainable relationships. You will provide essential leadership, overseeing the individual giving budget and KPIs while line-managing the Senior Individual Giving Officer and Data Co-ordinator to ensure the highest standards of donor care. You will also play a vital role in planning and delivering bold, multi-channel campaigns that generate essential income, grow our donor base and bring our cause to life.

Working closely with the wider Fundraising and Communications teams, you will act as a spokesperson for our mission, turning data-driven insights into impactful action. Whether you are designing a new fundraising product, overseeing campaign performance reports, or ensuring our database management meets the highest regulatory standards, your work will directly empower our supporters to help us change lives.

The role requires:

• Managerial and Fundraising Expertise: You have a minimum of three years’ experience in a project management or direct line-management role, with a proven track record of meeting financial targets and KPIs.
• Administrative and Analytical Excellence: You are confident using digital tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM systems like Raiser’s Edge to manage complex data, track campaign activity, and ensure compliance with GDPR and Gift Aid regulations.
• Strategically-Minded and Creative: You have a strong understanding of donor journeys, digital marketing channels, and how to create products and messages that inspire long-term loyalty.
• Organised and Adaptable: You excel at managing multiple projects simultaneously and are willing to work flexibly, including occasional unsocial hours, to support fundraising initiatives and events.
• Impact Reporting: Using the Raiser’s Edge database to track progress against KPIs, manage donor data hygiene, and ensure every supporter is thanked personally.

Main Responsibilities:

• Acting as a first point of contact for the Toy Appeal, responding in a timely and professional manner to company enquiries, as well as internal enquiries from service colleagues receiving gifts. 
• Managing data across multiple platforms/sources (including our CRM database, Salesforce, and Microsoft documents). Maintaining a live list of all gift requests from Family Action services/projects, and all gift pledges from companies, updating as matches are made and requests are filled. 
• Building positive relationships with corporate donors through written and verbal communications, including email, telephone and Teams meetings/in-person visits where appropriate. 
• Co-ordinating deliveries of gifts from corporates to local Family Action services/projects, ensuring needs and requirements of both parties are met. 
• Assisting the Corporate Partnerships Manager and Fundraising Officer with donation processing and administration.

The Advice Centre is central to our work. The advice we provide offers clarity and confidence. When people understand their circumstances, they feel safer. In moments of uncertainty, clear guidance can make a massive difference, and that’s why we’re here to offer support that helps our Visitors feel safe, informed and understood. This role administrates the operational service within the Advice Centre, triaging the needs of Visitors and coordinating Advisor and volunteer appointments.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• To coordinate the Advice Team’s appointments and schedules.
• To be the Advice Team Lead:
  • reviewing Advice Centre processes, and adopting appropriate changes to enhance service delivery
  • lead on daily briefs and monthly meetings with Advisors and Steps2Work Coordinator
  • report any issues or challenges to Operations Manager where necessary
• To quickly assess the needs of Visitors and decide whether they need to be seen urgently, or to book them an appointment.

Role Purpose

About the role

This Operations & Administration Coordinator role is a diverse and hands-on role, covering a wide range of tasks and responsibilities that are essential to the smooth, efficient running of the organisation. It's a part-time position for three days (21 hours) a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Team operations and administration

• Provide essential admin support including booking travel, purchasing equipment, managing the post, and supporting printing

Finance

• Provide general office administration support

Additional Duties

• Attend and support the AGM and other organisational meetings
• Represent the charity externally when required
• Support the CEO with fundraising strategy and policy development
• Undertake other duties as required in a small team environment

About You

You will be:

• Educated to degree level
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Experienced in working with databases and updating websites
• Familiar with fundraising applications and/or the charity sector (ideally benevolent funds or welfare services)
• Knowledgeable about the UK statutory benefits system
• Familiar with accounting software such as Xero or Dext (desirable)
• Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload
• Adaptable and comfortable working in a small team
• An excellent communicator, both written and verbal
• A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Confident in problem-solving and decision-making
• Sympathetic to the charity’s mission and values

Supporter Relations Executive

The Supporter Relations and Fundraising Operations team at Alzheimer’s Research UK is a key point of contact in the charity for supporters and members of the public and ensures the highest standards in operational processes and compliance, in order to ensure a first-class supporter experience.

The Supporter Relations Executive will be responsible for delivering supporter facing engagement activities ensuring delivery of an excellent experience for every contact, recognise opportunities to increase supporter loyalty, and generate the maximum amount of income for dementia research. This role primarily works within the Supporter Relations sub- team alongside other Executives. To ensure appropriate resourcing across the wider team and maintain SLAs, the role will also carry out donation processing and other operational tasks relating to supporter activities, where required.

We have 2 roles available. 

Key Responsibilities:

Supporter Enquiry Management

· Provide exceptional supporter care, ensuring every supporter and member of the public enjoys an outstanding experience when engaging with the charity, in all communications: inbound telephone calls, emails, social media messages and enquiries by post.

· Respond to a wide range of enquiries including marketing campaigns, donations, fundraising events and requests for materials, within a timely and professional manner. 

· Receive and respond to feedback and complaints from members of the public and supporters, as the first point of contact in the team, escalating where required.

· Ensure the integrity of the CRM database, Salesforce, by amending supporter records accurately, including coding of and processing donations.

· Promote fundraising, engagement and retention opportunities when communicating with supporters, using a range of initiatives to explain the positive impact of their donations in contributing to the charity mission, ‘for a cure’.

· Ensure formal guidelines and best practice are adhered to in relation to Direct Debits, Gift Aid, FR codes of Fundraising Practice, Gambling Commission, and Data Protection Act.

Supporter Stewardship:

· Engage in outbound telephone calls and written communications to increase the value of, or to retain supporters; this will include thanking, stewardship activity, obtaining Gift Aid declarations and vulnerability checks.

· Support the Fundraising Relationship team to manage accounts specific to their regions, to ensure excellent supporter stewardship.

· Effectively and consistently seek opportunities to build networks among our fundraising community, ensuring these are directed to appropriate fundraising teams.

· Seek opportunities for repeat fundraising, by identifying opportunities and engaging with supporters as part of our re-engagement process.

· Manage the supporter follow‑up process to ensure funds are received promptly and accurately. 

·  Engage supporters in the best practice in ‘in aid of’ fundraising policies and deliver promotion of this opportunity.

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

· Experience of working in a customer facing role.

· Experience of handling queries and complaints.

· Confidence working with computers – good knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and CRM databases.

· Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

· Confident and engaging telephone manner.

· Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

· Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.

· A professional and hard-working team player with a positive and collaborative work ethic.

· Outgoing, enthusiastic and able to remain calm under pressure

Ways of working:

As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals.  This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

Our Office: Our office is at 3 Riverside, Granta Park, Great Abington, Cambridge, CB21 6AD. 

Salary: Circa £24,000 per annum, plus benefits
