JUSTICE is looking to recruit a new Director of Development to join our friendly, outcome-focused, values-led team. We are looking for an individual who has an interest in the purpose of the charity (to improve the UK justice system so that it is fair and within everyone’s reach). The successful post holder will be a confident leader who has worked as a senior fundraiser in previous roles and someone who enjoys autonomy and is able to lead and empower their team.

The Director of Development will lead the organisation’s income generation strategy to support its work to advance legal reform, human rights and the rule of law. The role is responsible for diversifying, growing and achieving income through existing income streams, including: trusts and foundations, major donors, giving circles (JUSTICE60 and NextGen J60), corporate partnerships, membership as well as seeking out and creating new streams.
By working closely with the Chief Executive and senior leadership team, the Director will build long-term, strong relationships with funders and partners, strengthen the organisation’s case for support and ensure fundraising is aligned with the charity’s strategic priorities.

The Role
As our Head of Fundraising & Business Development, you will lead efforts to secure and diversify funding, building a sustainable resource base to support our global mission.
Leading the Fundraising and Business Development Team, you will drive the implementation of our resource mobilisation strategy, focusing on increasing non-ODA income and expanding flexible and programmatic funding.
Working closely with colleagues across fundraising, finance, research and impact teams, you will help close funding gaps by developing strong donor relationships, negotiating funding agreements and shaping compelling funding propositions.
Alongside collaborating with the Director of Fundraising and Communications and supporting engagement with the Board of Trustees, you will manage systems, data and internal processes that strengthen fundraising performance and ensure effective delivery.
Additionally, you will:
- Gather and share intelligence on trends within the funding landscape
- Generate new fundraising ideas and opportunities with existing and new funders
- Support teams to develop fundraising plans, donor scoping and funding bids
- Analyse data to inform fundraising strategies and income generation

About You
To be considered as our Head of Fundraising & Business Development, you will need:
- Significant experience leading fundraising functions in an international NGO or charity
- A proven, impressive track record in fundraising
- Experience in partnership and consortium development
- Management experience with the ability to co-ordinate, support, motivate, energise and develop diverse teams
- The ability to design and deliver income-generation strategies across multiple streams
- A strong understanding of the evolving landscape of finance and resource mobilisation for sustainable development
- A strong understanding of policy and research related to sustainable development at an international level, particularly related to Africa, Asia and/or Latin America
- Strong influencing, negotiating, stakeholder engagement and diplomacy skills
- A degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience
- The willingness and ability to travel internationally

The role
Art Explora UK is a small but entrepreneurial arts charity looking for an experienced fundraiser to join our dynamic team and help us implement a new fundraising strategy, and achieve our ambitious and exciting targets at a time of growth and opportunity.
This is a flexible part-time role for someone who is happy working independently, while liaising closely with the Director, Programme Heads and Trustees. On-boarding and hand-over will be with the current Fundraising Consultant. The Senior Development Manager will be someone who thinks creatively, seizes opportunity and, with excellent inter-personal skills, brings experience, energy and drive to attract donors and prospects to the Charity’s exciting mission to innovate forms of engagement and increase access to arts and culture.
Specific Responsibilities
• Deliver against a 6-figure fundraising target, taking responsibility for a cohort of prospects, with a focus on trusts, foundations, public sector and corporate partners.
• Write compelling proposals/applications and reports for trusts and foundations, to engage supporters and demonstrate the impact of our work.
• Collaborate with colleagues, in particular the Director and Programme Heads, to source programme information, schedule meetings/calls with prospects, writing excellent briefing notes in advance.
• Adhere to best practice in prospect cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, and ensure the due diligence policies in place are followed.
• Deliver the highest level of donor care through excellent communication skills: building rapport with prospects and donors, and ensuring correspondence is appropriate and consistent.
• Set up and deliver cultivation events for prospects and donors that highlight the work of Art Explora and associated opportunities to support.
• Work closely with press/marketing to ensure messaging and brand identity is aligned.

• Demonstrable experience of working to and meeting challenging fundraising targets; proven ability to secure six-figures awards.
• Experience of independently managing a designated group of donors and prospects and moving those relationships forward to successful outcomes.
• An understanding of and commitment to excellent stewardship and donor care
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; a developed ability to influence and inspire donors and prospects around a given cause or project.
• Confidence to drive forward relationships with donors and prospects, meeting independently and presenting proposals face-to-face and in writing.
• Flexibility to occasionally work outside of normal office hours and travel to various locations as required.
• A passion for the arts and an understanding of the arts education landscape.

The Development Manager plays a central part in enabling the Royal Court Theatre’s Development team to reach and grow ambitious fundraising targets for the charity’s mission.
The role will be responsible for a range of fundraising relationships and initiatives across a variety of sources, including high-level donors, corporate partners and trust & foundations (with scope to focus the role around the specialisms and interests of the appointee). This includes managing and stewarding key individual and corporate relationships, leading on applications, proposals and campaigns, and contributing to long-term fundraising targets and strategies.
The Development Manager will work closely with the Director of Development and wider Development Team (including as manager for team-members), as well as collaborating with other departments across the theatre.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience successfully planning and writing proposals and/or pitches for funding across a range of contexts and funders/partners.
- Experience managing relationships with key stakeholders including high level individual and/or corporate partners.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal).
- Excellent organisational and management skills to handle a busy workload, tight deadlines and conflicting priorities.

Job Description
The Director of Finance and Operations (DFO) will play a crucial role in realising our ambitious plans as a charity. The postholder will be a member of our Senior Leadership Team (SLT), along with the CEO, Director of Development, Director or Programmes and Director of Fundraising and Communications.
The DFO role is responsible for overseeing the financial health, operational effectiveness, and organisational infrastructure of the charity, ensures that the charity operates efficiently, ethically, and in compliance with all regulatory and fiduciary requirements.
This role blends strategic financial leadership with hands-on operational management and is critical to enabling the charity to achieve its charitable programme as well as provide long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Management
- Provide strategic financial leadership, including long-range financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Develop and manage the organisation's annual operating and capital budgets in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Manage the accounting functions, including payroll and pension, and month-end and year-end close.
- Prepare and present timely, accurate financial reports to the SLT, Finance and Investment Sub- Committee, and Board of Trustees.
- Monitor cash flow, reserves, and investments to ensure financial stability and liquidity.
