Events and Communications Officer

(Salary £21,460 - £22,700 - Part Time 25 Hours a week)

- What you’ll do:

· Coordinate and deliver Scripture Union’s presence at key exhibitions, festivals and conferences across the year.

· Plan logistics, budgets, materials and timelines –and recruit, support and encourage staff and volunteers involved in events.

· Gather, shape and share people-focused stories of mission and impact across website, email, social media, audio and print.

· Support the planning and delivery of the Mission Sparks podcast, helping audiences connect with what God is doing through Scripture Union.

· Monitor, evaluate and report on event effectiveness, using insight to improve future activity and engagement.

The Compliance & Recruitment Officer plays a vital role supporting the Recruitment and Compliance Team Partners to ensure that our recruitment and onboarding processes for permanent staff, temporary workers, and volunteers align with regulatory requirements and maintain the integrity and compliance of our hiring practice.

As a Compliance & Recruitment Officer you will deliver a high quality and responsive service to prospective candidates, recruiting managers and business stakeholders. In addition, you serve as a subject matter expert to the People Team and the wider organisation, ensuring that we prioritise the safeguarding of the children and young people right from the start of an employee’s recruitment and onboarding journey. 

Skills and Responsibilities 

On-Boarding & Compliance

• Coordinate all aspects of the onboarding and compliance process and ensure that the processes are completed accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner, including: issuing contracts, pre-employment compliance checks, and keying new starters/setting up new starters on the onboarding system.
• Ensure the accurate entry and maintenance of data onto the relevant HR Systems/ spreadsheets, by employing robust quality assurance and due diligence measures.
• Be the subject matter expert for Access Recruit & Onboarding and Better Impact for the team, the candidates/onboardees and the wider organisation
• Monitor and maintain ongoing compliance requirements across staff files, including (but not limited to): Right to Work documentation (i.e. valid Visas and passports); Professional Registrations; Dr’s professional insurance, etc.
• Ensure that all aspects of DBS process are managed in accordance with policy/procedures
• Assist the Recruitment & Compliance Manager in preparing, analysing and producing relevant reports and statistics.
• Conduct audit checks on new starters, volunteer and temporary worker files and report back to team to ensure continuous improvement and accuracy of data collected.
• Coordinate and/or supervise a regular and continuous calendar of personnel file reviews and audits, to ensure and maintain regulatory compliance, and where relevant escalate non- compliance issues to the Compliance Partner and/or the Recruitment & Compliance Manager.
• Assist in the coordination and delivery of an annual audit of CQC and Ofsted standards, across relevant business areas, e.g. The Children’s Trust School.
• Proactively maintain an up-to-date knowledge of our associated regulatory requirements, highlighting any updates and subsequent implications as soon as reasonably practical.
• Impart expertise and knowledge by delivering training sessions for new starters on compliance processes.
• In collaboration with the Organisation Development Team ensure the delivery of a seamless and engaging On-boarding and Induction experience for new staff and volunteers.

Recruitment & Selection

• Be responsible for the recruitment, on-boarding and compliance process for all types of permanent employees, Bank employees, temporary workers and volunteers. 
• Maintain the administration of recruitment and onboarding records, ensuring that these are complete and accurate
• Ensure all recruitment activities and the candidate life-cycle are underpinned by our Promises, whilst adhering to current employment legislation including Disclosure & Barring Service, Care Quality Commission, Ofsted, KCSIE and all policies and procedures
• Maintain an up-to-date list of vacancies, and ensure that all vacancies are advertised internally and/ or externally, in a timely manner.
• Support the Recruitment Team in the review and implementation of new and progressive recruitment initiatives, e.g. Employee Referral Scheme; Graduate Programmes; Apprenticeships; and overseas recruitment, with a view to increase the diversity and skill set of our workforce, across the organisation.
• Support the Recruitment & Compliance Partners with advertising vacancies, as well as the organisation and delivery of recruitment events and campaigns.
• Support the Recruitment & Compliance Manager with Bank Administrator recruitment and management of assignments.
• Supervise and coordinate the daily work tasks of team Bank Administration or Volunteer support, ensuring that all administrative aspects of the recruitment process are delivered to regulatory standards, on time and in a professional manner.
• Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

People Team Support

• Where required, contribute to the collation of relevant recruitment and compliance data, ensuring that these are complete and accurate, in order to support the preparation, analysis and production of relevant service reports, e.g. recruitment KPIs, time to hire (on-boarding KPIs), SCR school reports, right to work/visa reporting.
• Build strong internal and external relationships and provide a first class, added value service, to all staff and external partners/ customers.
• Where required, provide additional support on specific People Team projects, as informed by and agreed with the Recruitment & Compliance Manager.
• Assist in the streamlining and automation of processes to improve operational efficiency

In the role you will:

• To oversee the day-today operations of the safehouse accommodation and services for potential victims of modern slavery in the service and their dependents
• You will work with the Modern Slavery Case Workers to supervise their production of support plans, updating records accurately and reporting key changes. This also includes preparing the client for exit, repatriation and any other resettlement plans.

What we are looking for:

• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, safeguarding, and quality frameworks.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.
• Experience of working with vulnerable adults, the ability to work within a residential or community setting with non-UK residents

This service is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week which means you must be willing to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Medaille Trust is one of the leading providers of support to survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking in the UK. We are working to provide refuge and freedom for survivors and fighting to see slavery in all its forms become a thing of the past. The need for this work has never been higher, there are more than 50 million estimated victims of modern slavery worldwide, and over 120,000 potential victims in the UK.

We operate ten safe houses and five outreach hubs, staffed round the clock by specialist staff, working with more than 600 men, women and dependent children each year. We work to raise awareness in the UK and to provide preventive work in source countries. Our Pursue work helps survivors to engage with police and within the legal system to seek justice and to secure convictions against their perpetrators.

As our proactive and driven Strategic Partnership Development Manager you will lead partnership development for a range of priority corporate sectors - working closely with global partnerships, programmes and policy colleagues - to secure new multi-year partnerships and drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will:

• Lead on partnership development for strategically important sectors including food and beverage and agriculture, as well as other sectors to be determined. Effectively utilising your commercial awareness and corporate partnerships expertise to present WaterAid’s partnerships offering and value-add externally to these industries.
• Develop and manage a pipeline of potential high value, annual and multi-year new business opportunities, ensuring there is sufficient lead generation, active movement and conversion to secure annual and multi-year 6-figure+ partnerships.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the WaterAid federation including partnerships, communications, programmes and advocacy to identify and develop high-quality propositions that meet both partner and WaterAid needs.
• Lead WaterAid’s presence at global events and conferences, building a network of contacts amongst companies and actively cultivating this network.
• Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

• Proven experience in generating six-figure strategic, new business partnerships from cold in the charity sector or in a commercial setting and proven ability to meet and exceed personal targets.
• An externally focused and proactive attitude, with the energy and passion to engage people and excite them about WaterAid, alongside the ability to forge effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including internal and external C-suite.
• Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills with an aptitude for writing high-quality and engaging proposals for a corporate audience.
• Strong working understanding of charity-corporate partnerships, corporate sustainability, Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

• Understanding and experience of international development
• Understanding of and active interest in the agriculture and food & beverage sectors, including key materially important sustainability topics.

JOB PURPOSE

The role of the Policy and Public Affairs Manager is a high-impact role, central to designing and delivering Magic Breakfast’s national policy and public affairs strategy in England. The role holder will lead the development of evidence-based policy positions and work collaboratively to drive forward strategic, integrated and impactful advocacy campaigns to successfully influence decision-makers, policy change, and funding frameworks aligned with our key objectives. Specifically, you will also lead the design and implementation of our new workstream to expand school breakfast provision to secondary schools and early years settings, alongside our work to ensure the effective implementation of the Free Breakfast Club Programme.

More broadly, you will keep abreast of political developments relevant to Magic Breakfast - proactively identifying opportunities to respond, influence and shape the debate across the school food system and provide strategic, analytical and timely advice to the Senior Leadership Team.

Using your excellent communication skills, you will be able to translate complex policy into tailored and effective communications, policy briefings, positions and submissions, and will play a lead role in confidently engaging external stakeholders including UK Government Ministers, Parliamentarians, special advisers, officials and sector partners.

• Work closely with colleagues to share expertise and intelligence, inform and shape research areas, support campaign activities aligned with advocacy objectives, and respond proactively to live developments across the organisation.

• Line manage and support the development of the Public Affairs Officer.

This role plays a vital part in supporting the smooth and safe onboarding of adult volunteers within Sea Cadets. As a key member of the Volunteer Support Team, you will ensure that all administrative processes are completed. You will act as a first point of contact for volunteer enquiries, maintain high quality records throughout volunteers’ membership, maintaining MSSC’s commitment to safer recruitment and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support the processing of adult volunteer applications to join Sea Cadets, ensuring all personnel records are accurately updated on the CRM system.
• Review and approve volunteer references in line with MSSC’s Safer Recruitment Policy.
• Administer the enhanced disclosure process, acting as an MSSC counter-signatory.
• Process grants and claims relating to volunteer uniform allowances.
• Review and submit applications for UKSV Security Clearances and MOD 90 ID Cards.

• Experience working in a customer‑focused role, handling a wide range of enquiries by phone and email, including challenging conversations.

Thank you for your interest in the post of Chief Operating Officer of Worcester Cathedral. In this important role the new COO will work with the Dean and colleagues of the Cathedral Chapter to support the ministry and mission of the Cathedral and deliver the next phase of our strategic vision.

The COO plays a central role in delivering the Chapter’s strategy and plans, maximising resources and commercial activities and managing the day-to-day operation of the Cathedral, while nurturing its unique character and vision. The role carries a broad and critical remit across a particular and complex organisational infrastructure. The role of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is one of two statutory chief officer roles under the Cathedral Measure 2021, along with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

We believe that to be successful in the role, the COO will need to demonstrate a significant track record of strategic leadership in a complex and diverse operation. Whether their background is in the public, non-for-profit, or private sector, they will be a proven leader with acute political sensitivity and judgement, and outstanding communication and commercial skills. We are looking for an enterprising and creative thinker, with the intellectual rigour and relationship skills to be credible and influential with all our key stakeholders.

Overall executive leadership at the Cathedral is exercised by the Senior Executive Team (SET). The SET comprises the Dean (as equivalent to CEO), the Residentiary Canons, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The Senior Executive Team meets fortnightly, and the COO is expected to take an active part in those meetings and the wider executive function. The Senior Management Group (SMG) is chaired by the COO and comprises the residentiary canons, the COO and all heads of departments, and meets fortnightly.

This is a challenging role with some complex and demanding tasks at an exciting time of change for Worcester. It offers an outstanding opportunity to bring new thinking to the life of the Cathedral in a context where colleagues will offer both strong support and significant stimulus.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Governance

• To facilitate good governance processes, and to ensure that all policies and procedures are compliant; to work with the Dean to shape the agenda and implement the decision of the Chapter.

Leadership and management of the staff 

• To provide leadership and managements of the staff team.

Finance

• To work with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure there is a strategic plan in place for finance; to work closely with the Finance Committee and finance and fundraising staff to ensure regular and relevant reports are produced, cash flow is monitored, and an annual Chapter budget is drawn up.

Fabric

• To have oversight of the fabric of the Cathedral and precinct, in conjunction with the Surveyor of the Fabric (cathedral architect) and the architect for the close properties; and to prepare budgets and robust management plans for major projects as well as for the routine maintenance of the Cathedral and close properties. 

The successful candidate will have the following knowledge, experience, skills and attributes:

Knowledge and experience

• A practicing Christian (this is an Occupational Requirement of the post) who is sympathetic to and supportive of the Cathedral as part of the Church of England, and willing to participate from time to time in public worship and other cathedral events.
• A person who delights in the history and heritage of the Cathedral, is enthusiastic about its musical tradition, and values its opportunities for engagement with the community through learning, social action, culture, and tourism.
• A person with substantial experience in a senior leadership/management role, as a team-leader and team-member, in a complex private, public, or non-for-profit organisation.
• A person with experience of financial management, capital project management, and target achievement.
• Ideally, but not essentially, a person with experience of managing buildings and property.

PANS and PANDAS are complex neuro-psychiatric conditions which are frequently 

misunderstood and misdiagnosed. PANS PANDAS UK are the only charity in the UK 

working to improve outcomes and ensure brighter futures for people affected by PANS and PANDAS.

practice, raise awareness, engage with medical, social work and educational

OVERALL PURPOSE 

The Education Training Development Manager will lead the operational development, and delivery of the national education training programme, ensuring it aligns with organisational priorities and emerging national guidance. The role is responsible for the coordination, growth and quality assurance of PANS PANDAS UK’s national CPD training offer for teachers and educational psychologists (EPs), supporting the development and delivery of high‑quality training modules and strengthening partnerships.

The role reports to and works in close collaboration with the PANS PANDAS UK Education Lead, who retains overall ownership, strategic responsibility and final decision‑making authority for the training programme and the wider education strategy.

Central to this role is working collaboratively with the PANS and PANDAS community and the Youth Advisory Board (YAB) to ensure all training is informed by lived experience.

Key Responsibilities

Programme & Content Development

• Jointly review, update and refine existing CPD materials with the Education Lead, informed by national guidance and emerging research, with the Education Lead holding overall responsibility
• Support development of new training modules and associated materials.
• Explore future delivery models to expand national reach and scalability.
• Identify opportunities for integration of PANS or PANDAS training/materials within University/Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and other relevant programmes.

• Recruit and induct additional trainers.

Operational Coordination

• Coordinate scheduling, setup and delivery logistics for all training sessions.
