About the Role

We’re looking for a strategic, creative and proactive public affairs professional to lead our influencing work on ageism and inequalities, including our campaign for a Commissioner for Older People and Ageing; the development of an ageing society strategy; and work to address inequalities in experiences of ageing and support those groups who need it most .

In this role, you’ll shape and deliver an ambitious communications and influencing strategy that raises the profile of our policy issues in parliament and the media and builds support for our policy solutions among national and local government and wider sector leaders.

Working closely with colleagues in the ageism, inequalities and comms teams, you’ll design and deliver impactful communications activity across the channels most likely to increase our influence – from direct engagement and events to media, marketing and social content.

Central to the role will be supporting policy analysis and developing our national policy asks, drafting briefings and consultation submissions, and identifying opportunities to influence through monitoring the external landscape.

You’ll also lead the development of an effective stakeholder engagement plan, driving engagement across government departments, parliament, and other influential stakeholders.

About You

You’ll bring strong experience of working with government and parliament, and a track record of delivering effective policy, campaigning or public affairs activity. A confident communicator, you’re able to translate complex research and policy issues into compelling, accessible messages and present them persuasively to a range of audiences.

Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities, you’ll combine strategic thinking with creativity and a proactive approach to spotting opportunities. You’ll have excellent relationship‑building skills, acting with diplomacy and credibility when engaging with senior stakeholders.

You’ll enjoy working both independently and as part of a small, supportive team, and you’ll be willing to work flexibly when needed to support key events or urgent issues.

About the role

We are seeking an Events Manager to lead UnLtd’s event portfolio while our current Events Manager is on maternity leave. This person will be responsible for leading, coordinating and delivering the event plan in line with the organisational strategy. We are looking for a confident event specialist who will be able to support our frontline team to deliver a schedule of events for social entrepreneurs and UnLtd’s wider network.

You will be flexible in your approach and confident managing the whole process from planning through to delivery and event evaluation. The role is primarily hands-on and often involves working as part of, and at times leading, a cross-functional team. This role will suit you if you are patient and keep calm when things don’t go to plan, or when you don’t have all the answers you need. You’ll fall back on your meticulous organisation skills to ensure that UnLtd events are produced efficiently, fulfil their purpose, and are executed to the highest level.

This role may include some travel within the UK and evening work; however, we operate a TOIL system.

This is an exciting role in our committed policy team leading the fight to end child poverty in the UK. The government has just published a UK wide cross-government child poverty strategy, and made some historic commitments to reduce child poverty including scrapping the two-child limit and expanding free school meals in England. However, there is more to do, and this is a great time to join CPAG as we look to monitor the impact of these changes and influence policy makers and parliamentarians to ensure child poverty is high up the agenda.

We are looking for someone with a track record of communicating complex policy areas in an accessible manner to a range of non-specialist audiences. You will have knowledge of parliamentary processes and the different advocacy levers that can be used to influence change. You will enjoy working collaboratively to identify policy issues and develop solutions, working closely with colleagues across the organisation as well as externally.

In addition, in a senior policy officer we are looking for someone to take a lead role in developing CPAG’s policy and research programme, including leading the delivery of research projects, helping to shape our press and campaigns work, and contributing to the development of future projects including fundraising.

You will have a track record of producing high quality research and analysis, including policy briefings, on social policy issues.

The postholder will be working in a fast moving, high profile and complex policy environment and will need to balance short term priorities with long term objectives. Current priorities include influencing the implementation of the forthcoming child poverty strategy, sharing analysis and expertise as part of the DWP’s review of universal credit, and monitoring the development of the green paper on the changes to disability benefits.

AHF is seeking an England Development Manager (Heritage Revival Fund) to co‑lead our core grants and advisory programme across England. This role has been created following the recent announcement of significant new investment, which will support the expansion of the Heritage Revival Fund through to 2030. This investment will enable AHF, in partnership with DCMS and Historic England, to provide grants to hundreds of communities across England, helping them bring neglected historic buildings back into use.

Ideally based in southern or central England with focus on southern half of the country. The postholder will work jointly with the current England Development Manager (HRF), who will focus on the northern half of England. Together, they will oversee activity and workflow across the whole country. The role also includes joint management of the England grants team (who work remotely) and programme budget, working flexibly and collaboratively to ensure the successful delivery of AHF’s core programme.

We are looking for a candidate with strong experience across the key responsibilities of the role, including team management, programme budget oversight, and reporting. Senior Early Diagnosis Programme Manager

The Senior Early Diagnosis Programme Manager is a key role as we develop and evolve our early diagnosis programmes at Bowel Cancer UK. The role will provide strategic and operational leadership across the charity’s awareness and engagement programmes and the new Bowel Towns programme. This role will manage a multi-disciplinary team delivering programmes that improve cancer awareness, empower communities, and drive earlier diagnosis.

In addition, as the charity’s services lead for Northern Ireland (NI), the post holder will build high-impact partnerships and develop a regional plan to enhance awareness, early detection, and support for people affected by cancer. You’ll work closely with the Head of Services and Support to ensure our early diagnosis services are impactful, inclusive, and evidence-based.

About the role

This is a full‑time position working 35 hours per week on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role will require occasional travel typically a few times per month to PDSA sites for visits or team meetings.

The Western Forest is a bold new initiative forming part of England’s National Forest Network—connecting landscapes across Avon, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. Together with a wide network of partners, we’re working to restore nature, improve wellbeing and generate green growth.

As a Farm & Tree Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in planning and delivering woodland creation, supporting our ambition to establish 2,500 hectares of new woodland by 2030. You’ll be working directly with farmers and landowners to bring tree‑planting projects to life—ensuring the right trees are planted in the right places, supported by the right grants and funding.

You’ll be joining a friendly, supportive team in Avon or Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, supported by the Western Forest team expertise and embedded in a region‑wide nature recovery network.

�� What You’ll Be Doing

• Acting as an on‑the‑ground representative of Avon / Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust and the Western Forest
• Identifying new tree and woodland creation opportunities with existing and new farmer and landowner contacts
• Building and developing strong, trusted relationships with farmers and landowners in your area
• Delivering a one‑stop shop advisory service for tree planting, including site visits, planting design support and grant guidance
• Producing tree creation plans that deliver benefits to the farming system and wider land use
• Managing multiple landowner projects simultaneously—mapping, costing, planning and reporting
• Preparing and submitting grant applications and navigating regulatory requirements
• Working collaboratively with forestry agents, farmers, partners, and other environmental NGOs

The External Affairs Manager plays a pivotal role in empowering people with sight loss to live the life they choose. This position leads the development of policy and campaigns within the country, aligning with Guide Dogs’ strategic objectives. Working collaboratively with the central policy, public affairs, and campaigns team, as well as the country leadership team, the role builds strategic partnerships with government bodies, local authorities, societies, and other key organisations. This ensures Guide Dogs remains informed and influential on all policy initiatives affecting the organisation and its stakeholders.

The post holder will be responsible for the day‑to‑day leadership, management and oversight of a team.

The post-holder is responsible for shaping policy positions, drafting responses to consultations from councils, combined authorities, and devolved governments, and driving impactful campaigns at a regional level. A key focus is increasing the involvement of blind and partially sighted people in advocacy and campaigning.

Additionally, the role leads the implementation of Guide Dogs’ regional marketing and communications strategy across the Devolved Nations. This includes raising brand awareness, engaging diverse audiences—service users, families, volunteers, donors, and the public—and delivering integrated communications plans that strengthen Guide Dogs’ presence and impact.

Key Responsibilities

Policy Development

• Lead the creation of country-specific policy and position papers, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy.
• Prepare responses to consultation papers from devolved administrations, local government, and regional bodies.
• Represent Guide Dogs on committees, working groups, and forums, staying informed on policy issues impacting the organisation and its service users.

Public Affairs

• Build and influence relationships with key stakeholders, including elected representatives and senior officials.
• Represent Guide Dogs at Government Scrutiny Committees and cross-party groups.
• Act as the primary liaison with local government and statutory agencies.

Campaigns & Influence

• Strategically lead and coordinate campaigns at a country level, ensuring alignment with devolved policy priorities.
• Develop and deliver campaigns addressing local needs of the visually impaired community.
• Foster partnerships within the Third Sector to build consensus and amplify Guide Dogs’ strategic aims. 

Leadership & People Management

• Provide strong leadership to local staff and volunteers, promoting best practice and knowledge-sharing.
• Oversee recruitment, performance management, and compliance with safeguarding policies.
• Ensure high levels of engagement through effective communication and leadership.

Financial Accountability

• Support fundraising initiatives and monitor operational budgets to ensure efficiency and compliance.

Reporting to the schools in house Legal Advisor, you will ensure the school operates in full compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and internal policy requirements, promoting a culture of compliance across all areas of school activity.

This role is initially offered on a one-year fixed term contract working term time, plus INSED days and a further three weeks during the school holidays (38 weeks). The role also has part time support provided by the Compliance Administrator.

Salary circa £63,000, depending on experience. This is based on full-time equivalent annual salary of £75,000.
