Key Responsibilities

1. eCommerce & Online Sales

• Own and manage the day-to-day running of our eBay shop, including listings, sales, returns, customer messaging, and performance tracking
• Create, optimise, and maintain high-quality listings across eBay and other online sales channels

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising Strategy, and as part of a positive, ambitious and forward-thinking Fundraising Leadership Team, you'll lead the development and coordination of campaign and appeal planning, setting clear frameworks and priorities that support effective delivery. You'll oversee multiple, complex workstreams, ensuring strong governance, clear decision making and timely progress. A key part of the role involves translating insight, performance data and diverse inputs into coherent plans, compelling strategies and clear narratives. You'll work closely with senior leaders, cross functional teams and governance or volunteer groups, enabling informed contribution and supporting confident decisions. You'll operate at both strategic and operational levels, bringing clarity to complexity and enabling others to deliver successful outcomes in a fast moving and evolving environment.

The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of fundraising campaign design and what drives campaign success in practice, alongside proven experience designing and delivering fundraising or organisational campaigns. You'll have strong planning and project management capability (including governance structures and test-and-learn approaches), and be comfortable with budgeting, financial planning and forecasting in a charitable context. You'll be analytically strong, able to structure complex information clearly, and highly effective at stakeholder engagement and influencing across organisational boundaries, including enabling senior volunteers or governance groups (e.g., Boards, committees or appeal groups) to contribute effectively to strategic activity. In terms of fundraising, you will have a mix of expertise, ideally elements of digital and philanthropy/high value.

Role Description

About the role

This role leads our income generation and communications function, playing a central part in securing the charity’s long-term sustainability and growth.

You will be responsible for developing and delivering our fundraising and communications strategies, ensuring we generate the income needed to sustain and expand our work. About the Sickle Cell Society (SCS)

The Sickle Cell Society (SCS) is the only national charity in the UK that supports and represents people affected by a sickle cell disorder. We provide information, advice and support to enable people to improve their overall quality of life. To assist the Fundraising Manager in the delivery of the Sickle Cell Society’s (SCS) Fundraising Strategy and on-going development to achieve its fundraising priorities and targets. The post-holder will be a confident communicator and collaborator with proven relationship building and creative and innovative fundraising skills. It is a fantastic time to be joining us and we are keen to share this with likeminded and talented individuals. We currently have an opening for a Community Fundraising Assistant - North, to join our Community and Digital Fundraising team.

• Do you have experience in supporting events or community activities?
• Do you live in either Scotland, North East England, North West England or the East Midlands?
