The Carers Centre provides support to over 2000 unpaid family carers in the city of Brighton & Hove every year. The successful candidate will be joining a dedicated group of staff and volunteers to deliver vital and innovative services to carers across our city.

AIMS OF THE JOB: 

1. To establish and develop volunteering opportunities at the Carers Centre
2. To work with the management team to review and reinforce effective policies and procedures for volunteer-supported projects based on best practice
3. To develop and implement systems for recruitment and selection of volunteers from a range of backgrounds
4. To deliver a programme of induction and ongoing training for volunteers
5. To supervise a pool of volunteers to support carers safely to achieve positive changes within their lives and to enable volunteers to feel fulfilled in their role
6. To keep accurate records and statistics in accordance with the Carers Centre procedures
7. To monitor, analyse and report on feedback/outcomes with carers and volunteers
8. To participate in supervision and training to ensure professional operation of the service
9. To engage in research and networking opportunities provided by other organisations with expertise in volunteer support
10. To work in accordance with, and to ensure that staff and volunteers for which the post is responsible, adhere to the values, policies and procedures of the Carers Centre, especially Confidentiality, Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated individual to join our Young Carers team as a Young Carers Transition Lead.

You will lead and coordinate the Young Carers Transition Pathway so that young carers (YC) and young adult carers (YAC) experience a consistent, person-centred journey from early preparation (5–10) through post-16 and into adulthood.

You will drive awareness and access to support across schools, FE/HE and employers, maintain regular conversations and touch points, and embed the Transition Pathway within the Local Authority statutory assessment and review cycle, in partnership with our Assessment Officers.

This is a newly created position offering a unique opportunity to help shape it's direction and truly make the role your own.

Funding has been secured for a minimum of 5 years and this is therefore currently a fixed term role.

• Maintain Carers Trust Heart of England (CTHoE) Young Carers Transition Pathway (tools, timelines, checklists, templates); ensure alignment with statutory guidance and commissioning requirements; champion co-production and inclusive practice.
• Run a blended model of weekly venue-based groups, the Drop-In Hub, structured one-to-one (1:1) sessions, and online options, tailored by age and stage (including early preparation for children aged 5–10 and post-16 transition content).
• Plan, deliver and cover groups across our area of operation to maintain continuity and meet agreed access and touch-point standards; provide contingency cover to avoid session gaps.
• Co-work with Assessment Officers so Transition Pathway prompts are built into statutory assessments and scheduled 6 and 12-month reviews; update prompts, templates and Customer/Client Relationship Management (CRM) fields as needed.
• Model best practice in assessment, planning, reviews and safe closure; work in a trauma-informed, strengths-based way; escalate risks promptly via safeguarding procedures.
• Develop active relationships with schools, Further Education (FE) and Higher Education (HE) providers, employers, and Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) partners; coordinate assemblies, staff briefings, campus visits, mentoring and careers inputs to increase awareness and referrals.
• To work towards all of our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as set out in our funding agreements, which will be kept under regular review.
• Produce routine updates for the Service Manager, Senior Management Team (SMT) and commissioners; use data to target continuous improvement.
• Deliver in line with safeguarding policy; promote EDI across all delivery; follow lone-working procedures and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Health & Safety and compliance: Complete and review risk assessments; report incidents, hazards and defects; ensure safe use of venues, transport and equipment; maintain professional boundaries; complete mandatory and refresher training (including Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and safeguarding) and participate in supervision/appraisal.
• Attend activities and events outside core hours (evenings/weekends) where service needs require.
• Work with colleagues who support adult carers to coordinate support plans and assessments ensuring that young adult carers receive joined-up timely help that meets their needs.
• Create and maintain a clear young carer (under 18) adult carer (18+) handover process, including joint meetings, shared action plans and follow-up checks to ensure no loss of support at the point of transition.
• Co-design and, where appropriate, co-deliver sessions (e.g. information evenings, carer’s rights, benefits, condition-specific education, wellbeing) that meet the needs of both young carers and adult carers.
• Apply the No Wrong Doors approach and the Triangle of Care principles across children’s and adults’ services so families experience seamless access, shared responsibility and consistent professional boundaries.

Working Pattern and Requirements

• This post is full-time, with regular evenings (and occasional weekends) to deliver and/or cover groups across our area of operation, ensuring consistent conversations and touch points for carers who cannot attend in school hours.
• Travel across community venues, schools/colleges and partners is required; flexibility in location and hours is essential.
• Maintain an enhanced DBS check (with barred lists) and up-to-date safeguarding training.

Overview

The Campaigns and Alumni Relations Office (CAR) at the University of Sheffield is dedicated to inspiring alumni (former students) and supporters to make philanthropic gifts, as well as giving their time and expertise. A donation to the University of Sheffield can change lives, from supporting students in financial need to furthering world-leading research.

As part of the Individual Giving team in CAR, this role encourages people to make gifts of up to £10,000 using a data-driven approach and a range of communication and fundraising channels. The Fundraising Officer will also coordinate our community fundraising and in-memory programme to typically raise over £150,000 per year, as well as project managing direct mail, digital appeals and stewardship communications.

Acting as an advocate for philanthropy, you’ll support and motivate volunteer fundraisers and play a significant role in delivering the University’s flagship fundraising event, the Big Walk. You’ll also support the team to deliver fundraising and donor impact communications using a range of channels (email, print, web and video). On an ad-hoc basis you’ll manage our team of scholarship ambassadors to help engage donors, this may include coordinating small telephone fundraising sessions. 

This role would suit someone who excels at managing relationships and is confident interacting with donors and fundraisers on a daily basis. The successful candidate will also be a skilled project manager and communicator, able to juggle multiple tasks and think creatively to overcome problems.

Main duties and responsibilities

● Plan and deliver key fundraising projects using a range of channels (email, direct mail, events) to make direct asks for support through gifts and community fundraising.

● Ensure that all supporters have an exceptional experience and coordinate activities that demonstrate the impact of philanthropy in a meaningful and personal way to retain all donors.

● Support the wider team with elements of larger, multi-channel appeals. This will include building relationships with beneficiaries, suppliers, copywriting, using our mass email platform and manipulating data to personalise appeals. 

● Deliver community fundraising activities primarily the Big Walk, supported by the Individual Giving Manager and the Communications & Events team.

● Manage relationships with long-standing community fundraisers, as well as supporting ad-hoc fundraisers to maximise donations, showcase the University’s work and raise awareness of philanthropy. Proactively identify opportunities to build the supporter community and increase participation in fundraising.

● Manage relationships with corporate partners capable of sponsoring or participating in our fundraising activities, such as the Big Walk.

● Work with the team of scholarship ambassadors (students who have benefitted from donations) to gather and create content that tells their stories and demonstrates impact to donors.

● Oversee the day-to-day operations of ad-hoc telephone fundraising sessions. Including training and motivating the students, enabling them to make direct asks.

A leading national charity is seeking an Interim Director of Transformation (DDaT) to guide the organisation through a crucial 18 month period of modernisation. This is a senior mandate suited to someone with broad technology leadership experience in fundraising charities of around 100–250 employees, and the capability to drive major transformation programmes to completion, including a significant CRM migration and the development of a modern data platform.

In this role, you’ll take responsibility for ensuring the charity’s technology architecture is coherent, scalable and secure, overseeing key platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft 365/Azure, and the charity’s evolving data lakehouse. You’ll bring structure to delivery and operations, managing internal teams and external partners, strengthening SLAs, and championing agile ways of working to ensure the organisation receives a high-quality, modern, and responsive technology service.

You’ll also lead the organisation through a substantial period of change, working closely with fundraising, digital, and operational teams to ensure technology aligns with strategic goals, particularly the ambition to scale income and deepen supporter engagement. Strong stakeholder management will be essential, as you will advise senior leaders and the Board on technology, risk, cybersecurity, and organisational readiness, while helping staff navigate a major shift in the charity’s digital and data capability.

Key skills & experience

• Senior, broad technology leadership within fundraising charities or similarly complex NFP environments (approx. 100–250 staff).
• Strong transformation experience across digital, CRM, data platforms, governance, and cloud architecture.

What you’ll lead on

Strategic Finance & Planning

• Lead the development of financial and commercial strategies that support WECHI’s long-term vision.

Financial Management & Reporting

• Lead all financial reporting, including monthly reviews, cashflow management, quarterly management accounts, BVAs and year-end accounts (including subsidiaries).

• Ensure robust financial controls, policies and procedures across the organisation.

Operational Performance & Growth

• Partner with operational teams to improve performance, efficiency and financial sustainability.

• Contribute to revenue growth, including development of commercial opportunities and private income streams.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Act as Company Secretary, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance.
• Strengthen organisational governance and risk management, including maintenance of risk registers.
• Ensure compliance with data protection, information governance and financial regulations.

Corporate Services Leadership

• Manage the People Support Lead, providing line management and oversight, while working collaboratively to ensure HR compliance, develop people strategy, and coordinate on key operational matters including payroll and budgets.
• Lead IT oversight and the outsourced IT function, ensuring systems are maintained and improved.
• Oversee facilities management and represent WECHI as a Director for Hide Market Management.

About the job

We are looking to recruit a Grants and Foundations Officer to join Caritas Salford’s fundraising team. You will be part of a team that is passionate about tackling poverty and inequality, where your work will have a real and visible impact. Your focus will be on maintaining and growing income from charitable trusts and statutory agencies.

As a Grants and Foundations Officer, you will work closely with senior managers and service managers, researching potential funders, securing funding from trusts, foundations and other potential funding partners. As well as building and stewarding lasting relationships that will help sustain and grow Caritas’ mission. We will support your development, helping you grow your fundraising skills, take on complex projects and help shape bids for commissioned services.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, strong research and analytical expertise, be highly organised and confident in using IT systems and digital tools for research, communication and data management. Additionally, you will have the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders, plus a willingness to learn from others about fundraising and social impact.

37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday with occasional evening and weekends required.

Action in rural Sussex (AirS) supports rural communities across Sussex to be vibrant and diverse places in which to live and work. Community spaces play an important role in these local communities. They build community cohesion and resilience, support the health and wellbeing of residents, help overcome social isolation. contribute to the creation of vibrant local economies, and reduce carbon emissions by providing services and activities locally, and reducing their own carbon footprint.

Most community buildings are charitable, run mainly by volunteers who need a wide range of skills and knowledge to run a successful and sustainable community space. Our Community Buildings Service supports volunteers and hall managers by providing networking opportunities, training, newsletters, an online forum, and bespoke individual advice and support.

This is an exciting time for the service as we look to expand its reach and further develop our offer. The Project Support and Communications Officer will work closely with our Senior Community Buildings Adviser to support the delivery and development of the service across Sussex. You will be the first point of contact for enquirers, helping subscribers to the service to access our platforms. You will help to plan our training and events programme and provide administrative and logistical support. You will also manage communications and marketing for the service, including monthly newsletters, website updates, email communications and social media, and take the lead on updating and developing our CRM.

Whitley Awards Ceremony

The Whitley Awards are the result of an international search to find, fund, train and put a spotlight on outstanding grassroots leaders and their conservation projects. Finalists are invited to London for a week of training and events, culminating with the Whitley Awards Ceremony, where winners receive their Awards from WFN Patron, HRH The Princess Royal in front of 400 guests and many more tuning in via our livestream.

The Events and Office Assistant (EOA) will assist in the planning and delivery of the annual Whitley Awards Week, including the Ceremony, Friends Reception, NGO Reception, and related activities, particularly in the following areas:

• Arrange team and visitor travel, accommodation, and hospitality logistics
• Manage event guest lists and RSVPs using Salesforce and other platforms; help coordinate mail-outs and e-invitations
• Provide on-the-day event support including set-up, guest registration, and general assistance
• Support event logistics such as venue liaison, catering, AV, décor, merchandise, and materials, assisting with supplier coordination
• Champion WFN’s Event Code of Conduct.

Other WFN Events

Throughout the year WFN holds other fundraising and engagement events ranging from intimate dinners with supporters, winner talks, events as part of our Next Gen programme, and major initiatives such as Royal dinners, Galas and Biodiversity Summits which will require the EOA’s assistance.

• Manage ticketing and Q&A platforms and associated activities

 OFFICE ADMINISTRATION AND OPERATIONS

Smooth running of the WFN office and systems is vital for the charity to work effectively, with this role helping to support the team. The WFN office is a busy and welcoming environment, with regular visits by winners and supporters.

Office Management

• Ensure the office is a welcoming, tidy, and well-functioning space
• Greet visitors and manage incoming calls, emails, and enquiries
• Liaise with team and suppliers to order office materials and manage contracts (utilities, cleaning, stationery, refreshments, merchandise etc.)
• Manage post, deliveries, and waste removal procedures
• Oversee and liaise with the office cleaners to ensure they have the products they need and are paid in a timely manner.

Administrative Support

• Assist with diary management and scheduling meetings (in person and online)
• Arrange team and visitor travel, accommodation, and hospitality logistics
• Draft routine correspondence, thank-you letters, and other administrative communications
• Review and respond to general email enquiries (info inbox)
• Support the Head of Finance with basic administrative and data entry tasks
• Help maintain and update WFN’s CRM database (currently Salesforce) with contacts, donors, suppliers, event attendees
• Support the team with data entry, filing, record keeping, and maintaining digital and physical systems.
