About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and capable individual to join our dynamic Policy and Public Affairs Team, supporting the development of credible, evidence‑based policy proposals and helping to influence UK governments and NHS organisations to adopt them.
Key tasks and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
· Monitoring the political and policy environment to keep track of things like Government / NHS initiatives and influencing opportunities.
· Collating and helping to analyse existing quantitative and qualitative research to produce briefings, help generate policy proposals and facilitate their implementation.
· Assisting the Head of Policy and Public Affairs and Policy and Public Affairs Officer to devise and implement influencing plans directed towards politicians, the NHS or relevant stakeholders.
· Preparing and drafting responses to consultations and reports relevant to the work of CPOC and the College, ensuring responses are evidence-based and in line with on-going policy work and strategy.
· Assisting with designing and conducting new research, such as survey work or interviews, in support of policy and influencing work.
· Becoming the team’s main expert on policy work in one of the UK devolved nations – likely Northern Ireland – and represent the Policy and Public Affairs Team on RCoA’s board for that nation.
· Providing general administrative support to the Team, including producing agendas for meetings and keeping track of our contacts with stakeholders.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need to deliver high‑quality work at pace, be well organised, eager to learn and able to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You should have a sound understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods, what makes impactful policy proposals and how research can be used to influence policymakers. Insight into the UK health policy landscape, including government and NHS priorities, is also important.
This role is well‑suited to someone starting their policy career, and while previous policy experience is beneficial, it is not essential as full support and development will be provided.
What We Want to Achieve
We want to see an NHS that delivers good outcomes for patients and makes the best use of available resources. Our role in this relates to the anaesthetic workforce, and we have two specific priorities:
1) Boosting the anaesthetic workforce. Most operations require an anaesthetist in order to take place, but each of the four UK nations faces a chronic shortage of anaesthetists. Unfortunately, at present, no UK government is funding enough anaesthetic training places. We are determined to see this changed.
2) Optimising the surgical pathway. Anaesthetists don’t just work in the operating theatres they are often involved with the care patients receive before and after their operations – known as ‘perioperative care’. Good perioperative care can prevent surgical cancellations, complications, and unnecessarily long hospital stays. To this end, we host the Centre for Perioperative Care (CPOC). CPOC advocates policies such as ‘prehabilitation’ to ensure that patients arrive in hospital on the day of their surgery in the healthiest state possible – so their operation can go ahead without problems, and they can recover quickly. We are doggedly pushing for such polices to be adopted.
The Package
This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive employee benefits package, which includes (but is not limited to):
· 26 days of annual leave, plus bank holiday
· 1 additional paid day of leave for the purpose of celebrating your birthday
· Healthcare support through Benenden Health
· Up to 12% pension contribution
· Hybrid and flexible working
· Wellbeing hour once a week
· Cycle to work and employee discounts schemes
· Training and development opportunities
· Access to Mental Health First Aiders and Employee Assistance Programmes

Help young people build confidence, resilience and brighter futures through sport and mentoring.
Looking for a role where you can make a real difference?
Maybe you're studying Sports Coaching, Sport & Exercise Science, Youth Work, Education or Psychology.
You're a Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor, Sports Coach, Support Worker or Youth Worker looking for your next step.
Or perhaps you love working with young people but want something more stable, rewarding and meaningful than evening and weekend coaching.
At Dallaglio RugbyWorks, we support young people who are at risk of exclusion from education. Using sport as a hook and positive relationships as the foundation, we help young people build confidence, resilience, aspirations and life skills that can transform their futures.
You don't need to be a rugby expert. What matters is your ability to connect with young people, inspire them and help them believe in themselves.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
__________________________
The Role at a Glance
- Sports Coach / Youth Mentor (we call it Delivery Lead)
- Hastings & Bexhill
- £18,750 - £22,500 per annum (pro rata), based on a full-time equivalent of £25,000 - £30,000

You do not need to know rugby to apply. The rugby side can be taught, and plenty of people in the team started with youth work or mentoring experience rather than a sports coaching background.

Your artistic interests, however, will range beyond the traditional core, and you will be driven by a personal mission to engage different and new audiences with orchestral music, whether that is through music for films or games, cross-artform and cross-genre collaborations, pre-performance debates, schools performances, VR installations, or different performance formats. You will take a producing approach to new performance formats, keenly appreciative of the importance of staging, narrative and flow for contemporary audiences.
You know the importance of equality and diversity on stage in building a future for classical music, and are an active champion of creative projects which demonstrate this. Discovering new artists and musical voices will be second nature to you, just as you will be sensitive to the needs of established artists and composers in shaping a project. While your focus is on the quality of the artistic output, you will maintain in-the-round awareness of the complex jigsaw of sometimes competing priorities and restrictions into which any project has to be delivered, including box office and audience development targets.

Greyhound Trust is looking for its first-ever Individual Giving Officer — a pivotal role in our growing Income Generation & Engagement team. This is a chance to shape, grow, and lead our individual giving programme from the ground up, helping us care for and home more greyhounds across the UK.
About the Greyhound Trust
For over 50 years, Greyhound Trust has supported greyhounds transitioning from racing into loving homes where they can thrive. Each year, with an annual income of around £4.5m, we home thousands of dogs, relying on a passionate network of staff, branches, and volunteers.
The world is changing, and so is the way people engage with causes they care about. We are now looking to grow and diversify our individual giving, building long-term relationships with supporters who share our commitment to the welfare of greyhounds. This is your chance to play a key role in shaping our strategy, delivering creative campaigns, and helping secure the financial foundation for the Trust’s future.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Income Generation and Engagement, you will be responsible for:
- Creating, delivering, and evaluating our Individual Giving
- Building a diverse and sustainable portfolio of individual giving income streams, including regular giving, appeals, raffle, lottery, digital fundraising, mid-level giving, and legacy gifts.
- Planning and delivering multi-channel campaigns that integrate with marketing, communications, and retail initiatives.
- Using data and insight to drive performance, monitor results, and develop strong cases for support.
- Supporting branches and volunteers in delivering individual giving initiatives.
- Developing supporter journeys that encourage loyalty, growth, and long-term engagement.
- Ensuring all activities comply with fundraising legislation, best practice, and data protection law.
This is a hands-on role, that will allow you to take ownership of your programme while collaborating across the Trust to deliver impactful campaigns and initiatives.
Is this role right for you?
This role will suit you if you are an ambitious, hands-on fundraiser who thrives in a small, collaborative team where everyone is invested in the success of the whole organisation. You enjoy taking ownership, sharing ideas, and seeing things through to delivery, and you value open communication, mutual support, and a culture where colleagues are trusted to innovate and experiment.
You are likely to thrive if you enjoy balancing independent responsibility with teamwork, and if you are motivated by making a tangible difference rather than simply delivering outputs. You are curious, thoughtful, and practical, and you are happy to contribute beyond your immediate remit to help the organisation succeed.
Why join us?
- Be part of a compact, passionate, and close-knit team.
- Lead the development of the first dedicated individual giving programme in the Trust’s history.
- Work in a medium-sized, agile charity with a strong sense of purpose and financial stability.
- Play a key role in growing support and enabling more greyhounds to be cared for and rehomed across the UK.
