Asset Compliance Officer (Housing)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Compliance Officer to support the delivery of statutory compliance and cyclical safety programmes within a social housing environment.

This is a part-time opportunity (3 days per week) offering hybrid working and a competitive Umbrella rate.

The Role

You will provide high-quality administrative and operational support across building safety and asset compliance programmes. Working closely with contractors, internal teams and residents, you will help ensure statutory inspections, remedial works and certification are delivered on time and recorded accurately.

You will play a key role in maintaining compliance across core safety areas including gas, electrical, fire safety, asbestos, legionella and lifting equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and administer cyclical compliance programmes and statutory inspections
• Schedule and allocate inspections to ensure timely completion
• Review and validate certification to ensure legislative compliance
• Maintain accurate compliance records and audit data integrity
• Raise and manage works orders, ensuring correct coding and contractor allocation
• Monitor remedial works and escalate where necessary
• Liaise with residents and contractors to secure property access
• Support legal access processes where statutory inspections are refused
• Monitor budgets, track spend and support financial reporting
• Produce accurate reports and meeting documentation

About You

You will have:

• Experience in asset management or building safety compliance within social housing
• Knowledge of one or more statutory compliance areas (gas, electrical, fire, asbestos, legionella, lifting)
• Strong data validation and reporting skills
• Experience managing contractors and compliance documentation
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Experience using compliance management systems (e.g. Asprey, Keystone or similar)
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

About the Service

Our counselling service provides one-to-one counselling to survivors of domestic abuse, providing an assessment and 15-20 counselling sessions. The Counselling Service provides support to survivors across London and witin the community, as well as through refuge-based CYP and adult counselling services.

The core service is open 9.00am to 5.00pm. However, appointments can be arranged outside of these hours if required, and may offer flexibility around working hours.

About the role

We are looking for a Clinical Lead to join our counselling service, which provides one-to-one counselling to survivors of domestic abuse. The Clinical Lead delivers line management support to a team of Counsellors and Therapists, supporting with clinical decision making across the counselling service. The Clinical Lead will also work from a trauma-informed perspective, and use multi-modal interventions considering the needs of a diverse group of survivors of domestic abuse.

About you

The ideal candidate will offer a trauma-informed perspective to therapeutic intervention and clinical decision making. They will also have great organisational skills, good communication skills (both written and verbal), and an ability to manage their own workload. You will be able to balance competing priorities and support the wider counselling team to deliver a high-quality service to the survivors accessing support.

Care4Calais is a volunteer-based charity providing essential aid and support for refugees in France and the UK. 

In the UK, we collect and distribute clothing, shoes, mobile phones, and other essential items, alongside offering social support and access to legal, medical, and educational services. In northern France, we operate year-round from Calais, working alongside local communities in Calais and Dunkirk to provide warm clothing, bedding, and services to displaced refugees living in challenging and dangerous conditions.

About the Role

Care4Calais is recruiting an Operations Support Assistant to support its humanitarian operations in the UK. You will join our team in a remote and part-time capacity, offering regular steady online support delegated by our Operations Support Officer for the UK.

Wood Street Mission is a children’s charity helping children and families impacted by poverty in Manchester and Salford. 

We provide practical help to help meet children’s day-to-day needs and improve their life chances. We give clothes, bedding and baby equipment to struggling families, along with toys and books which are important for children’s wellbeing and development.

We support engagement in education by helping families with the costs of school uniform and run Book Roadshow events in schools to promote reading and improve children’s literacy. We work to raise awareness about child poverty and help thousands of children and their families every year.

We are looking to recruit a Grants and Trusts Fundraiser to join our growing team, as we take Wood Street Mission to the next level. You will be responsible for managing and delivering our Grants and Trusts income stream, developing long-term relationships with funders, and building on our small but successful track record. The Grants and Trusts Fundraiser is a pivotal role in helping us to accelerate our growth even further so we can help more children to thrive free from poverty.

The role is flexible between the office in Manchester and working from home.

Purpose of post

As the Grants and Trusts Fundraiser, you will be responsible for securing grants of varying sizes, translating the charity’s work across our five projects into compelling, high-quality applications for a range of audiences. Working collaboratively with the wider charity team, you will have a hands-on role in understanding our projects to ensure you can authentically convey our mission and our impact to funders. 

You will provide excellent care to existing and new supporters, ensuring reporting requirements are met and that funders are kept informed of how their support has enabled the charity to continue its work.

A key responsibility will be to contribute to and develop the Grants and Trusts fundraising plan. You will work to identify, secure and develop a robust pipeline of grant funders to maximise income and enable continued growth and sustainability of Wood Street Mission’s work. 

Main duties and responsibilities

1. To contribute to and develop the Grants and Trusts fundraising plan as agreed with the Fundraising Lead, to support the charity’s strategy

2. Meet agreed key performance indicators and to monitor and report on these targets

3. To keep up to date with funding policies and grant giving organisation news to inform the fundraising plan

4. To work closely with the Fundraising Lead and other members of the team to ensure a coordinated approach and excellent level of care for supporters, through appropriate and engaging communication methods

5. To research and develop new funders to support the achievement of fundraising targets

6. Frequently report on progress of Grants and Trusts fundraising to the Fundraising Lead

7. Work with the wider charity team to build a bank of individual stories and information for each of the five projects, to develop a Case for Support which can be adapted to different audiences

8. To work with the Fundraising Lead and the charity team to carry out a Full Cost Recovery exercise across all five projects, to provide a clear overview of the charity’s income and expenditure budget

9. Write comprehensive and persuasive applications to funders and prepare tailored presentations for a range of supporters

10. Build, nurture and account manage relationships with grant giving organisations, providing impact assessments, case studies and progress reports as required

11. Implement an effective stewardship process to maximise income and encourage long-term support, so funders feel appreciated and understand how their support has made an impact

12. Ensure grants are acknowledged promptly and reporting requirements are met within agreed timescales

13. To work alongside colleagues within the charity to identify potential grant funding opportunities and potential cross team working opportunities to ensure the charity maximises income across all income streams

14. Maintain up-to-date and accurate funder and volunteer records on the Beacon database, and to input data, donations and consent preferences, ensuring all data processing is GDPR compliant

15. To provide general administrative support to the Fundraising team

16. To represent Wood Street Mission as required at special events, and to proactively seek out new funding prospects and networking opportunities

17. To act as an ambassador for Wood Street Mission and promote the charity

18. To champion the Fundraising Regulator Code of Fundraising Practice, upholding a high standard of fundraising that is legal, open, honest and respectful

Interim Fire Safety Works Support Coordinator (Initial 3-Month Contract – Immediate Start Potential)

Overview We are seeking an experienced interim professional to provide operational support to the Fire and Security Contracts Manager in a large housing association. The role focuses on coordinating the delivery of minor and responsive works arising from fire-related cyclical inspections (including Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) and Fire Door Inspection (FDI) actions) across a diverse property portfolio.

This is a hands-on, autonomous position requiring strong initiative, with an emphasis on ensuring safe, timely, compliant, and budget-controlled outcomes for residents. It is ideal for a contractor with proven experience in fire safety compliance and works delivery in regulated environments such as social housing, construction, or property management.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the full delivery cycle of outsourced and internal minor/responsive fire safety works, including scoping, issuing instructions, monitoring progress, verifying completion evidence, and managing contractor performance.
• Review completed FRA and FDI actions; ensure evidence is satisfactory, validate/audit works (particularly fire door replacements) against manufacturer instructions, accreditation bodies, and relevant technical guidance; upload approved evidence to relevant systems (e.g., SharePoint or compliance hubs).
• Conduct site inspections, quality audits, and regular meetings with subcontractors to confirm health & safety compliance and adherence to regulatory/legislative requirements.
• Liaise effectively with internal teams, external contractors, residents, and locality stakeholders to keep all parties informed and maintain collaborative relationships.
• Manage financial aspects of works delivery, including budget monitoring and control to ensure expenditure remains within agreed limits.

Pattern Church was launched in December 2018 by the Diocese of Bristol as a Revitalisation Trust Resource Church with a vision of inviting people into family to serve Swindon. The Director of Operations is part of the leadership of the church, providing the organisational, financial, and strategic backbone that enables mission and ministry to flourish. Office & HR Assistant (10 month fixed term contract, maternity cover)

The position

To support the AKF(UK) team by running efficient and effective systems for front office and office operations. To support the Head of HR and work closely with the HR Officer in HR Administration. To cover for PA duties to the CEO when the PA to the CEO and Office Administrator is not available. This support and coordination role will help the office as a whole to sustain high professional standards and effectiveness. The Office & HR Assistant is responsible for: office administration (50%), HR, Health& Safety & security administration (45%), and IT administration (5%).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CORE TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

Office administration (50%)

• Answer the AKF UK main phone line and pass on messages to AKF (UK) employees as appropriate
• Open and process the post at the Aga Khan Centre and deliver to the relevant AKF (UK) employee
• Manage the “front office” email account and ensure emails are replied to or forwarded to the relevant AKF (UK) employee
• Support the greeting and receiving of AKF (UK) guests at AKC
• Book meeting rooms at AKC for colleagues and external partners and arrange catering as required
• Support AKF(UK) events, facilitate and support hosting of meetings and events for partners, including travel, visas, accommodation, and catering; this may require some out of office duties
• Manage the meeting schedule for All Staff Meetings
• Support the management of the organisation’s travel agent
• Support the management of the organisation’s mobile phone provider
• Arrange couriers for AKF (UK) employees as required
• Collect and maintain a detailed inventory of office equipment, IT equipment (mobile phones, laptops, desktops etc) and supplies
• Maintain the equipment purchasing guide with input from the IT Department
• Support the management of GDPR data lists and data requests

 
HR, Health, safety & security administration (45%)

• Maintain a detailed contact list for all AKF (UK) employees and keep it up to date
• Keep the AKF (UK) Emergency WhatsApp group up to date and share emergency messages as required
• Support recruitment processes by placing job adverts internally and externally
• Preparing and sending out offer letters and contracts as directed by the Head of HR
• Support the onboarding process including sending reference requests and background check requests
• Arrange induction and logistical arrangements for new employees including setting up phone, email, mobile, laptop, etc and purchasing new equipment as necessary
• Add new members to benefit schemes such as the private healthcare plan 
• Arrange leaving process for AKF (UK) employees and ensure all equipment is returned
• Support the Head of HR with the administration of the HR Management System (MyAKF)
• Troubleshoot any issues or problems with the MyAKF HR system, working with the MyAKF helpdesk
• Provide MyAKF system training to new starters.
• Draft visa sponsorship letters for all AKF (UK) employees and submit for approval and signature
• Provide Visa invitation letters to visiting delegates/employees.
• Coordinate with our travel insurance providers to arrange additional coverage for employee travel where required.
• Act as a Health and Safety Officer and Fire Marshal for AKF (UK)
• Act as a AKF (UK) First Aider including obtaining annual certification
• Create and cultivate an office culture that contributes to the happiness and well-being of all employees. 

IT administration (5%)

• Liaise with internal IT support as necessary to trouble-shoot issues and order equipment
• Work with IT services to ensure that all software is updated and maintained on individual’s computers and hardware on a regular basis.

Other

• Cover the PA to the CEO and Office Administrator’s workload during periods of sickness or annual leave

The requirements

Qualifications

• Educated to A-Levels desirable

Skills

• Highly organised with strong logistical skills and proven consistent attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills, tact, patience and ability to work in a cross-institutional, multicultural environment dealing with senior and high-level officials/persons and VIPs
• Excellent written communication and presentation skills and ability to draft and write effective copy and present to a range of audiences from senior-level to partners and suppliers
• Comfortable working independently and under minimal supervision but also forming an essential component of a team
• Strong operational and IT skills as well as an openness to learning new software and tools

Knowledge

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Apple applications
• Keen interest in international development and improving knowledge of these issues will be a distinct advantage

Experience

• Proven strong experience of office administration
• HR administration experience is desirable.
• Proven ability to multitask in a busy, open-plan office environment; ability to work under pressure, juggling various requests and deadlines
• Proven ability to deliver a consistently high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information
• Flexible approach to working, able to pick up a variety of tasks/projects with minimal supervision; ability to anticipate issues or scenarios when planning calls, meetings, or business trips, and to address them proactively

Lismore is an island rich in history and Gaelic heritage and is home to a vibrant Heritage Centre which is now recruiting a Freelance Project Officer.
