Breakthrough T1D is the UK’s leading type 1 diabetes charity, dedicated to funding research, advocating for change, and supporting the T1D community. A year into our exciting rebrand from JDRF to Breakthrough T1D, we’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Research and Involvement Officer to help us build on this momentum.
As a Research and Involvement Officer you will provide administrative support to the Head of Research Operations in managing our UK research portfolio, Type 1 Diabetes Grand Challenge funding and other UK-based funding programmes. This includes providing vital support in the pre- and post-award processes, working closely with research teams, internal colleagues and external stakeholders, as well as ensuring that information about Breakthrough T1D funding opportunities is communicated clearly through our website.
You will also play a key role in delivering our Patient and Public Involvement activities, including ensuring that opportunities to engage people who live with T1D in research are communicated clearly to people affected by T1D and the research community alike.

Job Description
Independent Sexual Violence Advisers (ISVAs) provide emotional and practical support and information to victims and survivors of sexual violence who have reported to the police, or are considering reporting to the police.
The role of an ISVA is to support victims and survivors by:
·Ensuring their voice is heard.
·Helping them make the choices that feel right for them.
·Accompanying them to important appointments and to court.
·Supporting them with their next steps after the legal process is over, regardless of the outcome of the case.
If victims and survivors are considering reporting to the police, ISVAs can also help them by:
·Providing impartial information to enable them to make an informed decision.
·Offering an overview of police processes and what to expect if they do decide to report.
·Supporting them in their next steps.
CARA provides an ISVA service to adults, young people and children who have been victims of sexual violence from across mid and North Essex, and Uttlesford.
Most ISVA clients are referred to CARA through the Police or the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC). Clients can also refer themselves.
Duties and Responsibilities
For all clients
· To liaise with CARA’s Information and Referrals Coordinator and First Contact Navigators in supporting new referrals to the ISVA service.
· To undertake risk assessment and support needs analysis with clients.
· To develop individual service plans to address risks/support needs of clients.
· To help clients access services to which they are entitled, e.g. through setting up fast-track referral systems to sexual health follow-up services, making referrals to mental health services, assisting with return to work/absence from work arrangements.
· To provide face-to-face and telephone support (non-therapeutic) to clients and their supporters where appropriate.
· To help clients to develop their own support network.
· To explain criminal, legal and if relevant, civil remedies to clients.
· To provide information in relation to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme.
· Where relevant and with client’s consent, to keep other agencies informed about important changes in client’s situation.
· To consider safeguarding issues and follow CARA’s safeguarding policy and procedures.
If a client reports to the Police
· To support the client throughout their time in the criminal justice system, explaining the procedures and their role and rights within it.
· Subject to local arrangements and their wishes, to support the client at every step; from the provision of their witness statement through to a trial.
· To liaise with the police and CPS on behalf of the client. To keep them informed about the progress of their case on behalf of the police in line with the requirements of the Victims Code of Practice.
· To participate in case conferences with the police and CPS.
· To understand and support the need for some clients to access special measures.
General
· To manage a caseload of around 50 clients (pro rata), including adults, young people and children.
· To travel to client meetings in a variety of settings, including outreach premises and clients’ homes.
· To maintain and monitor records, using a purpose-built online database.
· To follow procedures and protocols so that the safety of the client is kept central to any process.
· To note and feedback to other agencies any difficulties clients are having accessing their service.
· To contribute to the development of service policies, protocols, guidelines and strategies within areas of practice as necessary.
· To develop and maintain effective communication systems with key partners including the police, CPS, HMCTS, social services, education, primary care trust (mental and sexual health), Victim Support, Witness Service, CAFCASS and voluntary sector organisations.
·To participate in team meetings, supervision, training and development.
·To participate in co-location working within Colchester and Chelmsford police stations.
· To provide specialist advice to other workers and agencies, including participation in the delivery of training sessions.
· To have a clear understanding of the myths surrounding sexual violence, and the trauma and long-term mental health effects it creates, including self-harm, suicidal feelings and suicide attempts.
· To be aware of resources available regarding interpreters, signers etc.
· To attend regular team meetings and to work with colleagues to further the objectives of CARA.
· To adhere in full to all CARA’s organisational policies and procedures, including safeguarding.
· To report to the ISVA Manager, Head of Operations, CEO and Trustees as required, including the production of written reports.
· To be administratively self-servicing.
· To undertake any other related activities as required by the ISVA Manager, Head of Operations, CEO or Board of Trustees.

The Youth Participation & Events Support (Internhsip) role is a twelve-month paid Internship to begin during March 2026, supported by the Jack Petchey Foundation. Julie’s Bicycle’s Creative Green and Partnerships programme works with individual organisations and networks through consultancy and partnership. The programme combines sustainability expert advice, networking and peer-to-peer knowledge, supporting a wide variety of organisations in arts and culture to embed environmental sustainability into their value. Julie’s Bicycle is the partner for the Arts Council’s Environmental Programme, supporting organisations to take environmental action and meet their funding requirements and supporting the Arts Council to drive positive environmental change within the sector. The programme focuses on delivering support to organisations in: reporting their impacts and taking action using the Creative Climate Tools; running events, peer sharing sessions, webinars, signposting to and developing resources to deepen understanding around data use, and relevant topics in sustainability; broadening access to climate literacy via e-learning; providing a strand of workshops to provide targeted support for artists, creatives and freelancers, and; to inspire, develop and nurture sector leadership via a number of dedicated programme strands focused on governance, justice, resilience and decarbonisation. The Role
We are looking for an outstanding individual to join our team as a Climate Change & Sustainability Specialist, to lead and facilitate the management of strands of work on these programmes:

The work involves project-managing and delivering key partnership projects, and supporting collaboration with both subsidised and commercial cultural organisations, as well as with networks of organisations, funding bodies, cities, and local authorities. We focus on projects that generate knowledge that can be shared with the broader sector to promote climate action.
Candidates will have strong knowledge of the environment and climate, including their root causes, impacts, key issues, solutions, and approaches. You will have the confidence to embed sustainable practices across operations, strong facilitation skills, and the ability to drive change and governance in organisations and networks.
You will be passionate about the cultural sector's unique role in accelerating a just energy transition and inspiring wider action. We would particularly welcome expertise in community energy networks and solutions, nature restoration and carbon sinks, and broad environmental management and the just transition.
You will have proven project management experience and be able to combine strategic thinking with on-the-ground delivery across all project stages, leading consultancy activities, including mentoring clients and running public-facing sessions. Responsibilities
As part of the Creative Green and Creative Climate Partnerships team, our Climate Change & Sustainability Specialist will manage partnerships, working closely with a wide range of high-profile organisations in the arts and culture sector to help them understand, manage and improve their commitments to climate action and a just transition. A typical month might involve developing sustainability advice for cultural organisations supported by international cooperation, developing and delivering sustainability training for libraries, researching opportunities for climate action for artistic residencies, analysing environmental management data and writing recommendations and reports, helping write new proposals for partnership development, creating recommendations to influence cultural policy funding in the UK and Europe, creating a net zero plan for museums and theatres, supporting the sustainable production of exhibitions and performances.
With the Arts Council England programme, you will lead the management and delivery of the strand focused on decarbonisation, working collaboratively with the team. There is a significant opportunity to shape the programme to support organisations in decarbonising across key focus areas, including community energy schemes, district heat networks, nature-based solutions, circular economy initiatives, and energy management approaches, among others. Beyond this key strand, they will collaborate with the team to support aspects of delivery and contribute to team activities across the wider programme as appropriate. They will also collaborate on delivery support and contribute to wider team activities.
Key responsibilities:
Project scoping and proposal writing
- Actively seek partnership development opportunities that align with our strategy and aims.
- Scoping and planning new projects.
- Writing competitive proposals for new partnership projects.
Project Management and delivery
- Full project management, including managing timelines, resources, contracts, and budgets. This includes high quality, timely delivery of project strands, resources and events within the Creative Green and Partnership programme.
- Managing and delivering the decarbonisation strand of the Arts Council England environmental programme, and evolving the focus and support provided for organisations in line with sector needs.
- Designing and facilitating training and focus groups for organisations and specific stakeholder groups/networks, leadership sessions in person and/or virtual.

About the CYP Team Lead role
You will be working within Galop’s specialist advocacy services, providing support to LGBT victims and survivors of abuse and violence in the UK. You will work within the advocacy team to deliver advice, support, and advocacy to thousands of LGBT victims and survivors of interpersonal abuse and violence each year.
You will work directly with LGBT victims/survivors and hold responsibility for part of the operational team management. We have a new Housing job opportunity where you will be working with a team of Housing professionals with the aim of supporting some of the districts’ most vulnerable adults to move on from temporary accommodation.
You will be managing all temporary and emergency accommodation placements on behalf of Cotswold District Council. The role involves working closely with homeless clients in various emergency accommodation arrangements. The aim is to assist these individuals in accessing affordable housing options and ultimately reducing the time they spend in short-term accommodation.
• You will be based primarily within one of our Hostels working intensively with homeless clients to enable them to access the full range of affordable housing options with the aim of reducing time spent in short term accommodation.
• The role involves travel across our district to visit homelessness households in their temporary accommodation (including Hostels and various B&B’s) with the aim of assisting them with maximising all of the housing options available to them to ensure that they are able to move on from temporary accommodation as soon as possible.
• Create bespoke ‘Tenancy Ready’ plans for each client and ensure that they have access to the appropriate support and resources to achieve this.

- Facilitate workshops, webinars, and on-site sessions that build confidence and practical skills.
- Conduct access and inclusion audits, identifying barriers and producing tailored recommendations.
- Develop and update training materials, ensuring content reflects best practice and lived experience.
- Represent Bendrigg at events and build strong relationships with clients and partners.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- An experienced trainer with excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
- Passionate about inclusion and committed to Bendrigg’s belief that adventure should be accessible for all.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage a busy schedule with autonomy, including travel across the UK.
- A great communicator who can engage diverse audiences and write clear, practical reports.
Essential experience includes:
- Delivering high-quality, interactive training.
- Managing training preparation and follow-up to a high standard.
Desirable:
- Experience in access audits (training provided if needed).
- Knowledge of disability, inclusive language, and relevant legislation.
- Familiarity with outdoor learning, tourism, or accessibility consultancy.
