The Food Chain's Dietitians bring specialist health and nutrition knowledge and skills to the staff team, enabling the running of our charitable services. As the first and regular point of contact for Service Users and referrers you will implement your nutritional expertise to ensure The Food Chain meets the needs of people living with HIV who are experiencing barriers to the nutrition they need to get well, stay well and live healthy independent lives.

Key Activities: 

1. To perform Dietetic Assessments* (see competencies below):

• Coordinate and manage our list of incoming referrals from NHS and community organisations, ensuring contact is made in a timely manner 

• Communicate with referrers in the NHS and community organisations to ensure information is accurate and transparent 

• Interpret information provided to determine the appropriate services for those referred to us

• Engage with Service Users to understand their nutrition needs and agree personal goals, ensuring they are supported to meet these goals while they are in receipt of our services 

• Arrange tailored grocery deliveries taking in to account clinical, cultural and practical needs 

• Keep accurate records of referrals, outcomes and feedback, and to report on trends

• Adhere to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Standards of conduct, performance and ethics 

• Ensure communication, conduct and interactions are grounded in compassion, free of judgement and in accordance with the policies and procedures of The Food Chain. 

2. To be actively involved in the delivery of services, both internal and external: 

• To be an active presence at our Eating Together group meals

• To deliver talks at Eating Together on nutrition and/or general wellbeing related topics

• To maintain ongoing contact with Service Users at Eating Together and over the phone throughout the duration of their service, listening to and learning from their experiences, ensuring our nutritional input is ongoing, responsive and reflective of changes in their situations 

• To actively participate in peer supervisions with the Senior HIV Dietitian and Services Manager

• To deliver external talks to partner organisations including charities, community groups, universities, NHS and corporate partners, all with wide and diverse audiences. 

3. To work independently and collaboratively within a small staff team: 

• Actively support the staff team and volunteers to keep HIV nutrition knowledge up to date, relevant and at the forefront of our service delivery

• Be proactive in monitoring, developing and updating our nutrition resources, talks, website content, menus and recipes, ensuring resources are up to date and in line with good practice

• Support the Senior HIV Dietitian with research, audit and service development projects 

• Work flexibly as the organisation’s needs grow and develop over time 

• With support from the team, develop continuing professional development (CPD), identify training needs and suggest future developments and/or research opportunities

*Dietetic competencies 

Current competencies required: 

• Undertake clinical assessment of nutritional risk and nutritional needs and interpret to make appropriate clinical decisions 

• Gather and interpret psychosocial information e.g. mental health conditions, sleep patterns, living arrangements, support systems, employment status, immigration status

• Be sensitive to cultural, religious, ethnic, or personal dietary preferences

• Gather and interpret information on recent or longstanding lifestyle habits, behavioural patterns, motivating factors and barriers to change 

• Interpret results of relevant biochemical and haematological tests related to nutritional care

• Interpret investigations pertaining to bone disease, lipids and diabetes risk

• Collaborate with individuals to develop a realistic and achievable patient-centred dietetic care plan which takes into consideration all aspects of their social and clinical status 

• Demonstrate understanding of the nature of the interactions and risks posed by some complementary/alternative medicine (CAM) and advise patients accordingly. Know where to seek more in-depth advice when needed

The Food Chain's operating hours are Monday - Friday 9am to 5.30pm. Flexible working is available and can be discussed. The ideal candidate will be able to work outside of office hours, for example joining our Duty Manager rota for Saturday Eating Together services (once every 6 weeks).

We are seeking a highly organised Programmes Coordinator to support the smooth delivery of music education and teacher training programmes across London and nationally.

The Corporate & Events Fundraiser will help to drive income for the organisation through the effective planning, delivery and operation of CRASH’s growing Corporate Patron programme and event portfolio. 

This is a pivotal role in enabling CRASH to achieve its goals – helping developing relationships with new and long-term corporate patrons. Communicating the organisation’s work to build lasting relationships and future support. It is an important role as one of the first points of contact for CRASH, both internally and externally. 

Reporting to the Corporate Partnership Manager, the Corporate and Events Fundraiser will be responsible for driving engagement, loyalty and income through innovative corporate patron fundraising activities and events.

Key Responsibilities 

1. Corporate Patrons  

• Ensure excellent stewardship of existing and new corporate donors, working with the Corporate Fundraising Manager to create innovative strategies to generate high levels of loyalty and commitment, fostering and enhancing their long-term relationship with the charity. This includes organising bi-annual meetings. 

• Produce annual Corporate Patrons Social Impact Reports. 

• Organise dates for lunch and learn presentations with Corporate Patrons. 

• Lead of fundraising campaigns such as Big March and Christmas Campaign. These campaigns aim to achieve an income target set annually. 

• Work with colleagues to ensure that any potential corporate patrons are communicated with and are developed to their fullest potential. 

2. Events / Award Evening  

• Organising and managing CRASH Events whilst promoting the charity's cause and engaging with attendees and volunteers. 

• Support Corporate Patrons with their fundraising initiatives provide materials. QR codes and guidance on Just Giving platforms. 

• Manage the Run for Charity Relationships. Draft content and communications to promote running events. Manage relationships with individuals participating in fundraising runs to ensure their needs are met and encourage continued support. 

• Manage the attendance at Award Evenings preparing for attendance at award evenings and charitable collections which may include securing raffle prizes from Corporate Patrons. This may be outside of working hours, and you will receive time off in lieu to compensate. 

• Recruiting volunteers from Corporate Patrons for regular events and award evenings. 

• Ensure events are delivered to a high standard of safety, accessibility, participant experience and financial success.

3. Finance  

• Acknowledge corporate patron donations, attending cheque presentations and photo opportunities as necessary, working with Marketing and Communications Manager to generate positive media coverage. 

• Ensure the monthly management of all income is recorded and reconciled accurately and promptly on Access database. 

• Ensure Gift Aid claims are completed and submitted after each CRASH event working in collaboration with the Finance Manager. 

4. General  

• Ensure Fundraising Calendar and activities are up to date on the website 

• Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Manager to ensure regular and engaging content to promote fundraising activity and initiatives. 

• Utilising ACT Database, maintain an accurate record of supporter details and activity ensuring they receive relevant and timely communication resulting in ongoing fundraising opportunities and development of long-term support 

• To be aware of and adhere to the Institute of Fundraising Codes of Conduct and Codes of Best Practice. 

• To have up to date knowledge, understanding and compliance of GDPR regulations including the handling and protecting personal data in accordance with GDPR guidelines 

• To represent the charity publicly when required. 

• Ad-hoc travel to project visits, events and Corporate Patron meetings.

As the Community Fundraiser covering the South East you will play a crucial role in helping the charity meet its strategic plans and objectives, which include campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year, while fundraising to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence across the UK.  Your role will be to generate and grow our income through community fundraising activities, contributing to a regional team target of more than £1.5 million.

About the role
We are recruiting for a Supporter Selections & Automation Executive to join on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week. This is a home-based role on a permanent contract.

As Supporter Selections & Automations Executive you will work alongside two Supporter Selections Analysts to deliver targeted automations for our supporter communications. You’ll work closely with our Supporter Selections Manager and Journeys Manager to plan, build and maintain supporter journeys that provide an excellent supporter experience to retain and grow our audiences.

You’ll play a crucial role in deepening stakeholders’ understanding of our supporters. You’ll draw on campaign results, data models and other sources of insight to enable colleagues to test hypotheses and innovate in order to drive satisfaction, loyalty, and sustainable growth across Alzheimer’s Society’s audiences.

In this role, you’ll be an active and valued member of the Omnichannel Team, supporting with the delivery of scheduled and ad hoc selections to enable delivery of the communications plan, whilst being part of the drive to put the supporter at the heart of everything we do.

Interviews for this role have been provisionally scheduled to take place via MS Teams on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th March.

About you
Joining us, you will have experience of using good task management and prioritisation skills to deliver projects or pieces of work within a set deadline. You’ll have an understanding of customer journeys and automation, with experience of planning and building customer stewardship journeys and automations using Apteco Faststats, Apteco PeopleStage or similar systems.

Crucially, you’ll be skilled in using Excel to manipulate, manage and analyse data, in addition to experience using large contact management databases and database selections. You’ll also be able to work in collaboration with others across the organisation, at all levels, to support decision-making for data selections.

What you’ll focus on:

- Leading on the delivery of automated communications through Apteco Faststats and PeopleStage, working closely with our agency partners and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborating with the Journeys Manager on planning and documenting supporter journeys to ensure visibility of the supporter experience.
- Working with the Campaign Reporting & Optimisation Manager on rolling reviews of existing journeys to continually improve the automation & experience.
- Supporting the Selections Team to deliver planned and ad hoc targeted data selections for direct mail, telephone, email, SMS, and social media channels using Apteco FastStats.
- Using insight, data and model scores to improve and enhance audiences and personalisation across selections and automations.
- Working alongside our Apteco partner to highlight process improvements to continuously refine and strengthen our processes for selections & automations.

Black Thrive is looking for a Project Officer to support community-led change as we improve Black LGBTQ+ mental health and wellbeing across the Black Thrive localities through our programme Black Queer & Thriving.

Black Thrive Global evolved from the work of the Black Thrive Lambeth Partnership, which was established in 2016 to address the inequalities that negatively impact the mental health and wellbeing of Black people in Lambeth. Black people’s cumulative exposure to negative experiences and poor outcomes are not unique to Lambeth and Black Thrive Global was founded in 2020 to address the detrimental outcomes for Black people of African and Caribbean descent wherever they may be located.

We're looking for someone who is confident in supporting the design and delivery of community-led research projects, supporting community engagement activities and providing administrative support to the programme. An understanding of health inequities, systemic racism and the experiences of Black LGBTQ+ communities is essential.

This role will focus on co-production, community engagement and participatory research. About the role

Sitting within our people and organisational development team and reporting into the senior learning & organisational development manager, you’ll support us with a wide range of administrative duties across the learning & development; people; equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and internal communications & engagement functions.

As the first point of contact for all learning management system (LMS) user and administrative queries you’ll maintain and housekeep our LMS as well as help coordinate and administer internal and external training programmes, workshops and learning events. You’ll also provide administrative support across our core people activities, including invoicing, onboarding, offboarding, and the employee lifecycle processes.

You’ll use our HR management systems to develop and maintain regular people management reports and liaise with the people and EDI teams to ensure employee and training records are updated.

About you

You’ll have experience of working with information systems ideally within a HR function and be able to use an administrative system or database. You’ll have the ability to work as part of a small hybrid team and possess strong organisational skills and excellent written and verbal communications skills allowing you to always work together when in the office or when working from home. You’ll understand the importance of working accurately and with attention to detail within a confidential framework and can plan and organise your own workload.

About the role

Since 2018, the LRU has grown its membership to over 6000 renters across London.  Through our six branches, we support renters to take action to transform the housing system.  Organising in communities, the LRU runs training, facilitates peer support, takes collective action and campaigns on local issues, to grow our power.

The purpose of this role is to support the growth and collective leadership of our branch members in and around the Lewisham branch. This work will support the union’s fundamental goal of transforming the housing system, in alignment with our values and strategy agreements. The work will include recruiting and activating new members, and facilitating leadership from a broad base of renters, with a particular emphasis on working with those who face the worst impacts of the housing crisis. 

How we work at LRU

You will be part of the LRU staff team alongside 13 other staff, who work with members to build the power of the union by organising, campaigning, training and facilitating peer support and member solidarity actions.  We expect staff to uphold the union's values, and work together to implement collectively agreed strategies.  Each staff member has a line manager, and the staff team are accountable to the elected member Coordinating Group, and to each other.
