Role purpose:

Main duties and responsibilities:
- Planning: Develop and deliver comprehensive social media plans across platforms. Assist with social media strategy and execution to support organisational objectives. Support with the integration of plans into wider communication planning and needs. Integrate key business intelligence and context provided by colleagues and teams into plans.
- Content creation: Develop and schedule engaging content applying broad platform experience (including LinkedIn, X, and Facebook, with the potential to expand to other platforms)
- Community management: Monitor channels, respond to comments, DMs, and mentions, foster positive interaction and manage the brand’s online reputation.
- Performance analysis: Track and analyse social media performance using data insights, and present results, learnings and recommendations. Refine plans based on performance.
- Relationship management: Build positive working relationships with internal teams and external partners, supporting collaborative content creation and delivery.
- Research and insight: Monitor trends, audience insights and competitor activity to inform content and continuous improvement.
- Equality, compliance and governance: Embed equality and diversity requirements both within our promotional activities. Marketing & Communications Delivery

- Support on maintaining and developing content for the Headway East London website (using WordPress and Elementor), including blog posts, service pages and events.

- Co-ordinate monthly e-newsletters and other communications using Mailchimp to a variety of audiences.

- Work with our members(services users - people with brain injury),volunteers and staff to co-create content that reflects their voices and experiences.
- Ensure accessibility is embedded in all communications, including use of plain English, inclusive visuals, and a variety of formats.
- Engage the wider Headway East London community in developing campaigns, storytelling, and communications planning.

We are seeking an experienced communications lead to join our external engagement team and play a key role in shaping Martingale’s external profile and scholar recruitment.
As Communications Manager, you will lead on several critical aspects of Martingale’s work including all external communications from social media to PR, and brand management. Crucially, you will lead on the annual recruitment campaign for Martingale’s Postgraduate Scholarships. This three-month campaign each autumn is a fundamental part of Martingales work, ensuring we are finding and supporting as many talented people to apply as possible. Working closely with the Head of Communications and External Engagement, you will lead on all Martingale’s external communications.
A key responsibility will be ensuring that Martingale’s messaging is consistent, with a bold brand presence and strong collaboration with various external stakeholders including funders, universities, media, and government. You will also line manage the Events and Communications Officer who leads on all Martingale events and social media.

- Ensure widespread marketing of the Martingale Scholarship opportunity across the UK, including in media (e.g., student newspapers), on university campuses and on graduate job boards.
- Coordinate an effective paid advertising campaign across multiple channels.
- Directly engage prospective scholars to increase interest and convince them to apply for Martingale opportunities. For example, leading email campaigns, visiting university campuses, or hosting webinars.
- Build relationships with university academics, careers departments, student societies, graduate careers platforms, and other organisations who work with Martingale’s target audience. Encourage them to share Martingale opportunities to relevant people.
- Develop marketing materials and coordinate circulation: leaflets, brochures, social media content, video, email and newsletters, case studies and interviews with relevant people incl. current scholars.
- Procure and coordinate any relevant external providers: e.g., paid digital advertising agencies.
- Manage the Applicant Tracking System, embed and manage a CRM system for enrolled scholars.
Manage brand and increase brand awareness:
- Manage and develop Martingale Foundation’s brand identity, and the identity of our programmes: visual identity, communication style, digital presence, in-person style and feel of events.
- Design and manage a creative and innovative social media campaign across multiple channels, incl. paid ads.
- Manage the website, including maintenance, development, and SEO – with agency support.

Stakeholder management and communications:
- Produce and coordinate engaging communications and events for scholars and applicants, alongside the Programme’s team.
- Manage relationships with partner universities Marketing and External Relations teams, ensuring they are consulted and pleased with progress, while also delivering on their commitments.
- Develop collaborative relationships with charity partners or organisations with similar missions to Martingale, as well as potential employers of Martingale Scholars, and ensure they are aware of Martingale’s mission and progress whilst supporting recruitment and brand building efforts.
- Build productive relationships with funders relevant communications teams.
Organisation and team:
- Line manage the Events and Communications Officer, ensuring they are supported, clear on responsibilities and how they fit into the wider strategy of Martingale.

Monitor and report on the progress of the Martingale Foundation:

Who are you?
In this role, you will work on some of the world’s most pressing issues - you will create and launch best in class digital campaigns that mobilise audiences across the world to make change.

About the role:
This Best Companies Top 50 mid-sized company and Top10 charity is looking to appoint an experienced Digital Marketing Manager to lead the digital and design team.
The Digital Marketing Manager will manage the Rainbow Trust website and digital platforms, oversee social media and email marketing activity, lead with a data first approach to all organic and paid digital advertising and deliver engaging content to achieve our fundraising and engagement growth goals.

Reporting to the Head of Engagement you will work collaboratively across the department to ensure digital platforms, processes and integrations are optimised. You will also work to tell the stories of the seriously ill children and families that we support, overseeing the production and delivery of engaging multi-channel content to inspire our audiences to support us.

What you will do in the role:

- Plan, develop and oversee the production and repurposing of digital content including videos, podcasts and live streaming events, creating promotional, informational and thought leadership content.
- Oversee the design and production of printed material, branded assets and promotional items ensuring consistent implementation of the brand.
- Monitor and report on the performance of digital marketing campaigns, making recommendations for improvements and adjustments as needed.
- Build strong, productive, collaborative working relationships internally and externally to support the delivery of the digital marketing strategy.
Essential skills and experience you will need to demonstrate:
- Degree or relevant marketing qualification.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a digital marketing role.
- Experience of email marketing, social media (including advertising) and content marketing.
- Digital content design skills with experience in creating and repurposing digital content through applications such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premier Pro, Audition (or other equivalent.)
- Strong written communication.
Desirable skills and experience:
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong project management skills: self-sufficient in prioritising, organising workload and planning ahead.
- Able to think critically with strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams.
- Previous experience of using marketing automation and CRM software.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
