About you
• Experience delivering housing management services within a specialist or generic housing context.
• CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing or equivalent (or willingness to work towards) or qualified through experience
• Strong understanding of anti-social behaviour management and rental income collection processes.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet performance targets independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

Job summary:
The Head of Communications, Marketing & Digital is responsible for shaping, delivering, and evaluating the charity’s communications, brand, digital engagement, and marketing activity.
Reporting to the Director of Fundraising & Communications, the postholder plays a pivotal role in growing the charity’s profile, strengthening engagement, and ensuring all communication channels, platforms and content are effective, accessible, and aligned with organisational goals.
In a small charity, this is both a strategic and hands-on role, requiring creativity, strong digital skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key responsibilities and duties:
1. Communications & brand
- Lead the delivery of the charity’s communications strategy to increase visibility, trust and engagement.

- Ensure digital content is accessible, user-focused, streamlined and optimised for engagement and conversion.
- Fully review website development and maintenance, including UX improvements, analytics, SEO, and content.
- Oversee data-led insights and dashboards to measure digital performance and inform decision-making.
4. Media & public relations
- Build media relationships and respond to press requests in coordination with the Director.
- Draft press releases, statements, Q&As, and key messages for external audiences.
- Support reactive and crisis communications, ensuring timely, accurate responses and reputational protection.
5. Internal communication & collaboration
- Support effective internal communication, ensuring staff team, Program Facilitators and volunteers are informed and engaged.
- Work collaboratively across teams to gather stories, insights, and content that bring the charity’s work to life.
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues on communications, brand, and digital best practice.

- Significant experience in communications, marketing and digital roles, preferably within a charity or mission-driven organisation.

The Fundraising & Events Officer will help deliver a programme of successful fundraising and cultivation events, including the Charity's challenge events, annual golf day, comedy night, and dedicated industry dinners while providing excellent stewardship to supporters and partners. You'll also collaborate closely with the wider Fundraising Team to support various income streams, bringing creativity, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to making each event as impactful as possible.
Reporting to the Corporate Partnership Manager, you will plan, organise and deliver events from conception through to evaluation. This will include managing event budgets, sourcing prizes, coordinating suppliers (including photographers and entertainers), liaising with invitees to maximise attendance, and working with the Head of Marketing to promote events across social media and event webpages. Alongside events delivery, you'll support corporate partnerships and volunteering, providing high-quality stewardship to corporate partners, attending and supporting corporate volunteering activity, and helping deliver Spread a Smile's volunteering programme during peak periods (particularly Christmas). You'll also assist with securing Gifts in Kind, especially seasonal or event-related items, and play an active role in supporting the organisation's culture and wider activities.
The successful candidate will bring proven experience of planning and executing successful events end-to-end, strong project management skills and attention to detail, and confidence juggling multiple deadlines. You'll be an excellent relationship-builder with strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable engaging a wide range of stakeholders (donors, volunteers, staff, and suppliers). Most importantly, you'll enjoy working collaboratively as part of a small team, bringing great attention to detail and a passion for putting together great supporter experiences, alongside resilience and calm problem-solving when plans change.

Position
The Head of Fundraising is responsible for leading our fundraising strategy and delivery. This role is key to securing resources that enable us to drive system change in the financial sector.

About the team
This role leads the Programme Information and Systems Team within the Programme Operations function. Programme Operation's purpose is to support and empower programme staff to undertake effective planning and delivery of programmes and projects as well as ensure high quality reporting of programme performance to the wider organisation.
The Information and Systems team do this by providing programme staff with information and systems that support effective funding, project, and contract management, including effective management decision making at all management levels across the department. We also manage the programme systems, provide training and user support, as well as developing reports, dashboards, data visualisations and data analysis.
About the role
As our Programme Information and Systems Team Leadyou will lead the operational delivery and service provision of the WA Programme System (WAPS), mWater and the use of Power BI for tracking and reporting on programme performance functional. You will be responsible for the strategic direction of the systems, continuous improvements and the provision of programme data to support management decision making and high-quality programme performance reporting.
You require a blend of technical, leadership, and project management skills to ensure applications are aligned with organisational goals, there is strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration, and there is a coordinated and integrated approach to data and information for programme staff across the organisation.
In this role you will;
Provide leadership for programme systems and data
- Provide strategic and technical leadership across WaterAid on the programme IT systems (mWater, WAPS and Programme-related Power BI Dashboards/analytics), programme performance information, and projects associated with these.
- Ensure programme staff have IT platforms that supports effective funding, project, and contract management (and associated business processes) through managing, maintaining, and undertaking continuous improvement of the programme systems.
- Responsible for lifecycle management of the core programme systems, mWater and WAPS (WA Programme System).
- Ensure the joint WaterAid UK/Australia Programme System (Amp Impact) meets the needs of both members. (WAPS is Amp Impact on the Salesforce platform).
- Collaborate with the WA UK PMER and Programme Funding and Partnerships teams, and the WA Australia Business Development and Operations teams to ensure the systems support their processes and is enhanced in response to evolving organisational needs and priorities.
- Responsible for WaterAid’s overall approach and usage of mWater and for ensuring WaterAid maximises it use, integration with the WAPs and the data warehouse.
- Ensure continuous training and capability development of staff on the Programme System and mWater.
- Ensure the effective and efficient provision of programme data to all relevant stakeholders
Lead the team
- Manage the Programme Information and Systems Team, ensuring effective performance and team collaboration. As part of the Programme Operations Team Senior Management Team, provide strategic leadership across the wider team as well.
- Prepare and manage the team budget as well as the joint WA Australia/UK WAPS budget.

Collaborate across teams, departments and federation members
- In collaboration with the wider Programme Operations Team, support , capability strengthening on project management and programme/project design; the development of policies, process, tools, and capability for country level risk management (including Standard and Mandatory Operating Procedures), and ensure alignment of programme processes, tools, guidance (and systems) to enable effective reporting on programme performance (esp. GPMF reporting).

Requirements
Essential skills and experience
- Degree or equivalent professional qualification (e.g. from the British Computer Society or other recognised professional bodies) in a relevant subject such as computing, business information systems, data and analytics.
- At least 5 years working in a team leadership role in a large, complex international development organisation.
- Demonstrated experience of managing IT projects and systems/platforms, at strategic and operational levels, across large and complex organisations.
- Knowledge and experience of change management processes and of successfully driving cross-organisational change.
- Strong verbal and written communication and influencing skills, and fluency in English, in order to represent the organisation credibly and at a high level and produce high quality documents communicating complex issues with clarity.
- Excellent IT skills, including productivity tools such as Microsoft Office, and technical skills related to information systems (e.g. SQL, programming languages).
- Working style that reflects WaterAid’s values of Respect, Accountability, Courage, Collaboration, Integrity and Innovation.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and empowerment, and safeguarding in leadership and decision-making.
- Availability to undertake international travel for up to 4 weeks per year.

- Manage key projects and exceptional fundraising campaigns with significant income and expenditure targets
- Give supporters more control of how they give, when we contact them and the content that will mean most to them at their stage in their supporter journey.
- Make sure that each campaign builds strong supporter relationships and long-term commitment to Shelter
- Develop inspiring multi-channel integrated campaigns to create accurate, consistent and engaging experiences at every supporter touchpoint.

About you
Passionate about outstanding supporter experiences and maximising income opportunities, you have demonstrated experience of direct marketing and digital channels such as direct mail, SMS, telemarketing and email.
You’re also used to optimising and reviewing campaigns and aren’t afraid to share both failures and successes. You’ll be highly collaborative, flexible and diplomatic in your approach to managing internal and external stakeholders to deliver results.
What’s more, you excel in analysis and intelligent use of data, are great at utilising insight, including the motivations, interests and behaviours of supporters to guide decisions and have a demonstrated knowledge of project management and development, and will be able to manage multiple projects at once.
You’re happy to challenge the status quo and introduce new ideas, methods and processes too, like to horizon scan and keep ahead of emerging trends and are comfortable working in matrix teams.

About the team
Our Individual Giving team sits within our successful, growing Income Generation directorate and consists of three programmes - Supporter Acquisition, Direct Dialogue and Supporter Retention and Development. Together, we deliver a diverse programme of work with ambitious income targets that support our organisational strategy, across cash, regular giving and lottery products. We’ve grown quite a bit over the past few years and benefitted from both investment and opportunity for innovation. That’s resulted in us generating over £20m of unrestricted income every year. We’re also welcoming and supportive, firmly believe in developing our people and can offer you every opportunity to progress.
