We are recruiting a Van Peer Coordinator to support our Hepatitis C peer project in the Oxford & Thames Valley area. This role involves driving a van across the region and working with people affected by substance use and hepatitis C. 

Peers use their lived experience to raise awareness of hepatitis C, reduce stigma, and help people access testing and treatment. 

About you 
You will: 

• Be confident driving a van and travelling long distances

Ideal candidate

As a Senior Support Officer, you will primarily be responsible for raising awareness and providing a high-quality support and advocacy service to our members and their families.   You will be a relationship builder who cares about the community we serve and ensures that the individual (or family) remains at the centre of support.  You will have experience in multi-agency working and an in-depth understanding of the needs of those with disabilities, their families and carers.  Demonstrable experience and knowledge of health and social care, education and relevant assessment processes are essential. 

As deputy safeguarding lead officer for both shildren and vulnerable adults you will take the lead in the absence of the safeguarding leads and be confident sharing your knowledge with new recruits through mentoring.

You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to uphold best practice, challenge poor policy and inappropriate decisions.  Excellent IT skills and the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver to tight timescales are essential.  You will be self-motivated and highly organised, juggling many strands of work. 

As part of a small, dedicated team, you will have a positive attitude and a willingness to work collaboratively with your colleagues and external parties to raise awareness, advocate for our membership, as well as supporting the delivery and development of services for the MPS Society community.

Whilst a relevant qualification within health & social care, education or a related field is desirable, other knowledge and work experiences may be equally as valuable in this role. Prior knowledge of MPS and related conditions is not required however a special interest in neurology and working with individuals with neurological disabilities is advantageous.  In-depth support and training to develop expertise in MPS and related conditions, and the needs of those affected by these progressive, life-limiting conditions will be provided.

The Role of Diocesan Housing Surveyor

We are looking for someone who can work alongside the Diocesan Property Manager, and Property Officer, to assist in the management of the Clergy Housing stock comprising of 160 houses across Coventry and Warwickshire.

The main responsibilities of the of Diocesan Housing Surveyor

 are:

• Inspect Clergy houses and assess repairs and improvements necessary in compliance with Coventry Diocese Clergy Housing Standards.
• Implement the recommendations of the property reports.
• Arrange property inspections and implement the required works with the agreement of the Property Manager.
• Arrange stock condition surveys.
• Address reactive repairs and ensure works are undertaken and completed in accordance with the Housing Standards.
• Prepare schedules of work and cost budgets, agree these with the Property Manager before tendering to approved contractors.

What we are looking for in a Diocesan Housing Surveyor:

· Driving Licence with access to own car

· Previous experience of managing small works contracts

The Volunteer Coordinator supports the Discovery Centre team and helps with daily operations of the visitor centre whenever possible.

 Purpose of the job

This includes building and sustaining a team to reduce diffuse pollution, increase biodiversity, improve water quality, and support agricultural businesses to deliver environmental improvement works and nature friendly farming practices.

The postholder requires operational experience and knowledge at catchment scale as well as project and people management experience. They will take a strategic overview of the programme and guide our growth in the thematical and geographical area, with a particular focus on the following outcomes.

• Work with 20 farmers each year to reduce diffuse pollution at source and flood risk.
• Offer advice on nature-based solutions and grant funding to farmers and landowners.
• Plant 30,000 trees annually.
• Input and support the achievement of other applicable 5-year plan targets. i.e. River restoration and catchment scale monitoring.
• Increase Thames21 presence in the Thames Valley, identifying opportunities, supporting, and complimenting the work of other NGOs and regional Rivers Trusts.

The role is a relatively new area of work for Thames21 and may consist of supporting a range of projects and programmes including Catchment Partnerships, Farm Clusters and Natural Flood Management.

Finally, the postholder will take a lead in progressing Thames21’s resilience strategy i.e. working closely with the Fundraising Team, the Catchment Partnership Team, and partner organisations to increase private and public investment to deliver healthy resilient rivers and catchments.

Additional requirements may include supporting other Thames21 projects and funding applications, as the need arises.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

You will oversee and manage the delivery of diverse projects. Working within a team of five Advisers to deliver our free, impartial and confidential service, the successful applicant will advise students on primarily Money, Academic and Disciplinary matters. As a dynamic and agile organisation, we always signpost or advocate where we cannot directly advise, and so expect to help students facing challenges from everything from housing to sexual violence.

Our Advice Team advises across telephone, Microsoft Teams and face to face appointments, alongside monitoring a shared email inbox, supporting colleagues with research and data analysis, contributing to and creating various resources and occasionally attending university committees or working groups to provide technical expertise. Occasional weekend and evening work (to support the delivery of Open Days) will be required, as well as occasional work at our sites in Stafford and London. There are two vacancies available, totalling 1.5 FTE. Person Requirements 

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience delivering information/advice and managing a caseload, including prioritising effectively, assessing risk, and communicating professionally with students and partners.

Details of this role

Hours: We are recruiting two posts totalling 1.5 FTE. The roles are offered on an annualised hours contract, with full-time based on 37 hours per week (1,687 working hours per annum plus 244 hours annual leave). Part-time hours and leave will be calculated on a pro rata basis.

• Support and co-ordinate Returned Volunteers in the delivery of school talks
• Be a point of contact and support for young people at application, selection and throughout fundraising activities

Responsibilities & duties

• Recruit Volunteer candidates through the delivery of inspiring presentations in schools and youth organisations, in-person and online
• Engage and support fundraising Volunteers, offering practical advice, guidance and monitoring of fundraising progress
• Represent Project Trust at career and recruitment fairs
• Develop and maintain relationships with partnership organisations within the education and youth sectors
• Support and co-ordinate Returned Volunteers in the delivery of school talks
• Be a point of contact and support for young people throughout the application, selection and fundraising process
• Maintain accurate and up to date records on our CRM database
• Participate in the selection, training and debriefing of Volunteers

Qualifications & skills

Essential

• Commitment to Project Trust’s purpose, approach, ethos
• Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively
• Proven ability to deliver presentations to a range of stakeholders, including young people, with an ability to motivate and inspire others
• Experience of working effectively with and developing young people in a variety of settings, eg schools, youth and community groups
• Ability to work autonomously on own initiative and as part of a remote, multi-disciplinary team
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, and ability to communicate with a range of audiences
• Excellent customer service skills, with a commitment to providing an outstanding service to Volunteers and third parties
• Excellent administrative skills, able to keep accurate and up to date records and produce reports
• Good judgement and decision-making skills with the ability to work under pressure
• Working knowledge of Microsoft packages and a variety of social media platforms
• Ability to travel within a designated region of the UK and to other parts of the UK as required
• Ability to work remotely from an appropriate home base
• Willingness to undertake work outside standard office hours
• A full clean driving licence and use of a vehicle

Desirable

• Experience of working and/or living in an international environment
• Qualification in working with young people, or demonstrable equivalent experience
• Knowledge and understanding of the voluntary and charitable sector
• Experience in marketing or sales
• Experience of running small projects
• Experience in using a CRM database

The appointment will be made subject to Project Trust’s detailed terms and conditions of employment. Candidates should be aware that:

• The post holder will be required to obtain an enhanced Disclosure Scotland check (PVG)

Around 3.5 million people in the UK live with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Over 68,000 are treated for end-stage kidney failure, relying on dialysis or a transplant to keep them alive. Treatments are gruelling and relentless and impact the patients’ ability to work, maintain social interaction and live the life they choose. For over 50 years, Kidney Care UK has been at the forefront of supporting people with kidney disease. About the role

The Corporate Volunteering and Events Coordinator will join a vibrant, friendly and passionate corporate fundraising team who have a strong track record of meeting and exceeding targets. The new Coordinator will play a key part in delivering our corporate volunteering strategy and ensuring companies that volunteer with us have meaningful and impactful experiences, and where possible explore opportunities to develop long-lasting partnerships.

The role will also play a key part in all corporate engagement events, supporting across team with marketing, delivery and administration.
