Evidence and Evaluation Officer

We are looking for an Evidence and Evaluation Officer to join the team.

Job role: Evidence and Evaluation Officer

Salary: £47,509 per annum, plus generous benefits

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week; flexible working considered

Location: Central London (hybrid working)

The Role

The Evidence and Evaluation Officer will support the delivery of rigorous and policy-relevant evaluations across priority areas (Supporting Parenting, Strengthening Family Networks, Domestic Abuse, Relationships for Care-Experienced Young People). You’ll work with local authorities, third-sector partners and external evaluators to deliver high-quality evaluations employing a range of methods, including randomised controlled trials (RCTs), quasi-experimental designs (QEDs) and implementation and process evaluations (IPEs), to strengthen the evidence base on what supports children and families.

We are looking for someone with expertise in quantitative research and evaluation, for example, RCTs and QEDs, with some qualitative and IPE skills and exposure. The role requires a strong mix of research and broader professional skills, including communication skills, initiative, and the ability to engage with a wide range of audiences.

  • Evaluation experience: Explain where and how you gained your evaluation experience, including specific quantitative research or impact evaluation experience.
  • Commissioning, grant making or proposal writing experience: Explain where and how you gained experience of commissioning work, grant-making, contributing to procurement processes, developing briefs, writing proposals or responding to tenders.
  • Stakeholder management experience: Explain where and how you developed your stakeholder management experience. Please include examples of working effectively with internal teams, external partners and/or delivery organisations
  • Sector experience: Explain where and how you gained experience and knowledge of early help, children’s social care, local authority services, or closely related policy or practice areas.

The maximum word count is 800 words in total. We suggest aiming for approximately 200 words per question. Your response should be concise while providing enough detail to demonstrate how your experience meets the requirements of the role.
