Hybrid (35 hours/week): 2 days a week in the office for first three months of probation, 1 day/ week thereafter

About the Role
This is a varied and hands-on role, combining international tax administration with core finance tasks. You'll manage tax returns across multiple jurisdictions, liaise with global partners, and ensure accurate financial reporting. You'll also play a key role in bank reconciliations, cash flow updates, and supporting accounts receivable functions.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit international tax returns across various countries
Maintain accurate records of tax liabilities and payments
Collaborate with internal teams and external tax partners
Allocate and post daily bank receipts
Complete monthly bank reconciliations
Raise sales invoices and support credit control
Assist with year-end audit schedules and ad hoc reporting
Experience Needed
5+ years' experience in finance and accounts
Experience using a CRM system and other finance systems.
Experience posting sales invoices and resolving payment queries.
Bank reconciliation and cash posting experience
Experience working with large volumes of data.
Credit control experience would be beneficial - chasing customers for payments.
Excellent Excel skills
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
A proactive, flexible, and collaborative approach

About the role
A pioneering, fast-growing charity with a strong record of delivering tangible impact is seeking a Director of Finance and Operations to join the Executive Team at a pivotal stage in its journey. Established for over 10 years, with strong reserves, income exceeding forecast, and ambition and vison for the future, you will join an Executive Team in reviewing and leading plans for continuous growth across an already impressive track record. As Director of Finance and Operations you will play a central role in shaping the organisation’s long-term financial strategy, strengthening governance and risk management, and ensuring the charity is equipped for sustainable growth.
Working closely with the CEO and Trustees, you will be responsible for the Finance, Governance, and Legal functions, combining strategic oversight with a hands-on approach where needed. This is a role that offers real scope to make a difference—both within the organisation and through the impact our work delivers externally.
Key duties are as follows:
- Lead the development of the organisation’s financial strategy, aligning with overall organisational goals.
- Provide strategic financial planning and forecasting to support decision-making, including a 5-year strategy and finance plan, annual budgets, and operations plans.
- Oversee and support delivery of day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting.
- Oversee and continue development of appropriate financial systems, processes and policies, including contract management system.
- Develop with CEO and the Trustee Board strategies to diversify funding sources and enhance financial resilience.
- Oversee and support the preparation and presentation of financial reports to the Trustee Board, Audit and Risk Committee and other stakeholders, highlighting financial performance and risks.
- Lead the development and oversight of the organisation’s risk management framework, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated.
- Act as a key adviser to the Board of Trustees, Finance & Audit Committee, and senior leadership on financial governance and risk matters.
- Manage the Finance, Governance and Legal teams and associated strategic responsibilities for the charity
About you
- You will be a qualified accountant with significant senior-level finance experience
- Proven expertise in strategic financial planning and forecasting
- Experience of working with Boards and / or Committees
- A collaborative leadership style with proven staff management experience.
- Ability to be hands-on where required in the day-to-day running of the finance and operations teams
- A strong commitment to the mission and values of the charity sector.

This is a key role within the finance team, providing strategic financial insight and business partnering support to managers and leaders across the organisation. You will play a critical part in enabling the charity to make informed decisions, optimising the use of resources, and embedding a culture of financial awareness.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis to support operational and strategic decisions
- Collaborate with managers to evaluate projects, initiatives, and opportunities from a financial perspective
- Assist the Head of Finance with annual budgeting, long-term forecasts, and business planning processes
- Build financial capability across teams, helping non-financial staff understand budgets, forecasts, and costings
- Work alongside the Financial Accountant to ensure month-end reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments are completed accurately
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems, and reporting
- Promote a culture of accountability, financial awareness, and responsible resource management across the charity
Ideal candidate profile:
- Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent) with solid accounting experience
- Previous experience in a business partnering role at a similar level of responsibility
- Familiarity with the Charity SORP and experience with SUN Accounting system is desirable
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining financial concepts clearly to non-finance colleagues
- Skilled at influencing, coaching, and building collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders
