The Marsh Christian Trust (MCT) is looking for an Assistant to join a small, dynamic team and support the day-to-day running of the organisation. This role would be for a 9-month contract as maternity leave cover, and would suit someone who is interested in the charity world and looking for a part-time position. The role will be office-based for 3 days a week, starting in mid-July 2025.

The Trust is a busy grantmaking charity, supporting a range of small organisations across the sector with core funding to support their running costs. The Trust also runs an exciting Awards programme, which sees them partner with larger charities to help recognise their volunteers and outstanding individuals in thier field of work.

Key responsibilities and duties

• To support the grants programme – preparing applications for review, researching organisations applying for funding and processing grants. 
• To assist in the administration of the Marsh Awards Scheme – writing letters, and helping to coordinate events.
• Updating records and files, minute-taking, diary management, booking travel, preparing internal lunches, collecting and distributing the post, and any other ad-hoc administrative duties required.
• To assist the wider office with administrative tasks.

The Independent Training, delivered in collaboration with IPCAPA at the British Psychotherapy Foundation (bpf) and the Anna Freud Centre/UCL is seeking progress advisors to support 4-5 trainees on the Doctorate in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy training from the start of their training through to completion.

This is an exciting opportunity to guide and support trainees in their development as future child psychotherapists. The successful postholders will liaise with the year 1 tutor, clinical and research tutors, service supervisors and intensive case supervisors. There will be regular team meetings with the year tutor other progress advisors responsible for the year group. Outside of this, working hours are flexible.

Working 28 hours per week flexibly you’ll need a UK work base. The salary is £29,600 (or £37,000 FTE)

Days and hours can be built in and around our standard operating week as set out in our staff benefits. We’re open to making the working week fit into your own lifestyle and the nature and needs of this type of Fundraising role. With a lot of autonomy in where you run events to meet your annual target there may need to be some travel to a city/location where you’re generating the income or some events you run may be in evenings or weekends. 

Around going to work events for the role the rest of the job can be done from home anywhere in the UK. Our Cardiff City Centre Head Office is always available to you too. Most Team meetings and day to day colleague work is handled remotely but we’d expect to see you in the office for things such as our quarterly team meetings.

As Recreation and Wellbeing Coordinator, you will manage the Youth Zone’s vibrant Rec Area and two wellbeing spaces: the Training Kitchen and Health and Wellbeing Room. You will create an energetic, fun, and inclusive environment where young people can thrive.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the day-to-day management of the Rec (indoor and outdoor) and Wellbeing Spaces (Training Kitchen and Health Room), ensuring they are safe, welcoming, and well-utilised.
• Design and deliver a varied programme of inclusive activities that promote social development, healthy lifestyles, and confidence-building, with particular focus on engaging SEND and underrepresented young people.
• Line-manage and support staff and volunteers across all spaces, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and high-quality youth engagement.
• Manage and develop the Young Leaders programme, nurturing leadership skills across Junior and Senior groups.
• Ensure sessions are structured, relevant, and youth-led where possible, using feedback and local need to shape delivery.
• Oversee the safe use of equipment, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety and health standards.
• Collaborate with local partners to enhance opportunities for physical and mental wellbeing.
• Manage budgets for all areas, ensuring value for money and accurate financial record-keeping.

It is our vision that adults with learning disabilities are valued as leaders and peers and are supported to achieve their goals and live life to the full. The role of the Trust Fundraiser is essential in building our capacity to ensure the delivery of our vision.

The Trust Fundraiser will work with the CEO in developing a high quality fundraising strategy and raising funds against agreed targets that support the work of Orchard Vale Trust. They will use this to manage projects - from application of funding to delivery, including on-going evaluation and reporting.

They will work with the senior management team to ensure service users are supported in accordance with the ethos, policies and practices of Orchard Vale Trust and with current best practice as set out by Care Quality Commissions (CQC) regulations, the Charity Commission and other relevant legislation and guidance.

Main Duties

1. To develop and implement a fundraising strategy for the Trust

2. To develop and sustain partnership working with a range of external stakeholders

3. To work with the CEO in the delivery of the Trust’s communication strategy

4. To work with the CEO in the management and delivery of the Trust’s Social Enterprise

5. To ensure fundraising activities are safe and compliant with regulations and Orchard Vale Trust’s Policies

• A track record of successful fundraising in an organization or a recent qualification in business/fundraising

• An understanding of supporter acquisition and growth

• Understanding of developing existing and new fundraising opportunities

• Experience of working to tight deadlines and prioritization.

• Knowledge or experience in working with communications and media teams as required
