About the role

As a Research Grants Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the research funding cycle, from application and peer review through to award management and post‑award administration. You’ll work closely with the Research Grants Manager, internal teams, external experts, and funded researchers to maintain high standards of governance, transparency, and impact across all our research funding activities.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the development, implementation, and management of Macmillan’s research grants programme.
• Create, update, and publish key documentation for each funding round.
• Coordinate expert review panels, including scheduling, logistics, and budget oversight.
• Provide secretariat support for funding panels, including preparing papers, taking minutes, and compiling applicant feedback.
• Manage post‑award processes such as grant agreements, financial tracking, and change requests.
• Monitor reporting compliance and work with Finance to ensure accurate expenditure records.
• Act as the primary point of contact for funded academics, supporting timely reporting and dissemination of research outputs.
• Work with the Communications team to promote research findings and their impact.
• Support internal and external events to strengthen the research community.

About you

The successful candidate will bring:

• Experience in research administration or grant management within an academic, charity, or funding organisation.

About the role

As Research Grants Manager, you will establish and manage Macmillan’s research funding activities. You’ll help develop our research strategy, build a programme of grant funding, and ensure robust, equitable and transparent processes across the full research funding cycle.

You will work closely with senior clinical leaders, academic partners and research funders to establish Macmillan’s identity within the UK cancer research ecosystem and deliver high‑quality, strategically aligned research grants.
 

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver a research strategy and priority themes aligned with Macmillan’s strategy, in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer and Research & Health Data Lead.
• Establish Macmillan’s research funding programme to enable the award of high quality, strategically aligned research grants to build national research capacity centred on people living with cancer.
• Design and implement application, peer review and award processes across the research funding cycle.
• Lead the planning, logistics and documentation for all research funding calls.

About you

• An advanced degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., health policy or health services research, public health, social science, implementation science) or equivalent professional experience.

Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice helps babies, children and young people who are seriously unwell, and their families, make the most of every day. The charity aspires to become a centre of clinical excellence for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

We’ve been on a major upward trajectory in recent years, with more children being supported, more major hospitals being partnered with and more supporters donating. We’ve transformed from being an enthusiastic start-up delivering care in the community, to a serious player delivering major impact both in the community and at our state-of-the-art hospice building, The Ark, opened in 2019.

Philanthropy, which covers Grants, Trusts & Foundations and Major Donor fundraising streams, is pivotal to Noah’s Ark, typically accounting for around 50% of the charity’s voluntary income. This is an area of real expertise for Noah’s Ark, with much scope for further refining. The successful candidate will therefore be instrumental in taking this key income stream forward, add to an exciting portfolio and gain further training and support, working as part of a high-performing and super supportive team, ready for its next development phase.

The Grants, Trusts & Foundations Manager will work closely with and report to the Head of Philanthropy to develop the Trust pipeline, along with instrumental cross-team work on applications and reporting processes for other income streams. Whilst we work towards developing a more diverse funding model and navigate changes to the external Trust environment, sustaining and growing income from Trusts will remain vital.

The post-holder will manage a Philanthropy Officer (Trusts & Major Donors) and, together, they will be instrumental in taking the Trust programme to the next level, establishing lasting relationships with funders, securing new grants, increasing multi-year gifts and improving both quality and volume of applications and reports. They will also support the Philanthropy Officer, and the wider team, to the same end with their respective portfolios.

ABOUT YOU

You will be a highly organised, dedicated and reliable individual ready to play a significant role in income generation. An exceptional and eloquent communicator, excellent at managing your time and a natural relationship builder. You will have a collaborative mindset, and be willing to engage with colleagues across the fundraising team and wider charity to create the greatest outcomes for the children and families we support.

You will have considerable experience fundraising from grant makers and will be able to demonstrate your success with securing high value gifts and building meaningful relationships. You will have confidence in your ability to make an impact through collaborative lateral thinking. You will also support other team members with their applications, as well as acting as a key liaison with our Care team to obtain latest information about service delivery.

If you have ample experience of fundraising from Trusts, have achieved outstanding success in a short period of time or have held a key position within a Trust programme, including securing numerous significant – ideally six-figure – grants, we would love you to apply.

In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. One of the most important things we do is ensure that our funding and commissioning processes run smoothly and deliver maximum impact. We manage significant grants and complex commissioning arrangements that support projects designed to make a lasting difference. To do this well, we need robust systems, clear governance and strong relationships with partners. This role is critical to making that happen. As our Senior Grants & Commissioning Manager, you’ll lead on optimising our grant management system Salesforce, oversee risk and compliance and drive improvements in commissioning and procurement across the organisation. You’ll be the go-to person for contracts, grant agreements, policy guidance and Salesforce, ensuring data integrity and enabling confident decision-making. By keeping everything organised and efficient, you will be helping us achieve our strategic goals and deliver on our mission.

Key Responsibilities

Your role would be to ensure our funding and commissioning processes run efficiently, compliantly and strategically. You’ll lead improvements in systems, governance and risk management, act as the organisation’s Salesforce and grant management expert, and provide strong leadership to the team which will enable confident decisions and maximising impact. • Grant management and system optimisation:

• Maintain and control master versions of all templates, including Grant Agreements and Variations, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Governance and policy development:
• Develop, maintain and disseminate non-HR policies and guidance documents related to commissioning and procurement.
• Ensure governance frameworks are robust, up-to-date and embedded across the organisation.
• Training and capacity building:
• Design and deliver training sessions to build staff competency in policies, guidance and system procedures.

• Leadership and team management:

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Trusts and Foundations Manager will develop and grow a new trusts and foundations income stream from the ground up. They will build a pipeline of prospective funders, shape emerging ideas into fundable opportunities, and lead on high quality applications that support the organisation’s future projects. Working collaboratively across directorates, they will cultivate strong funder relationships and establish the systems needed for sustainable, long‑term income growth.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and Strategy

• Lead the development of a new trusts and foundations income stream, building a sustainable portfolio of prospective, warm, and active funders.
• Create and maintain a structured pipeline that clearly maps cultivation, application, and stewardship stages.
• Establish effective systems, processes, and tools for researching, tracking, and managing all funding opportunities.
• Work with colleagues across the organisation to identify future fundable projects and shape them into compelling propositions.
• Develop annual trusts and foundations workplans and income forecasts aligned to organisational priorities.

Prospecting and Research

• Identify and research new trust, foundation, and statutory funders, prioritising those with the strongest alignment to RLSS UK’s mission and strategic framework.
• Identify creative ways to engage new funders and build early relationships, even before projects are fully developed.
• Stay informed about new trust and foundation funding opportunities and broader sector developments and funder priorities, to strengthen the fundraising strategy.

Bid Writing and Proposal Development

• Develop high quality, persuasive, and tailored funding applications that clearly articulate the need and potential impact.
• Ensure all proposals clearly articulate the need, planned impact, and align with funder requirements and priorities.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across Education, Commercial Services, Finance and the wider Income Generation and Engagement team to develop credible cases for support, project budgets and clear anticipated impact.
• Identify the most appropriate approach for each funder, including opportunities for multi‑year grants and strategic partnerships.

Relationship Management and Stewardship

• Cultivate strong, positive relationships with funders, ensuring personalised, timely and impact focused stewardship for all supporters.
• Provide excellent donor care, responding promptly to enquiries and ensuring funders feel informed, valued, and connected to RLSS UK’s mission.
• Represent RLSS UK confidently in funder meetings, presentations, and networking events to strengthen long term support.

Reporting and Evaluation

• Monitor and report on trusts and foundations fundraising performance against KPIs and targets, reporting on performance to the Director of Income Generation and Engagement, Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees. 
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the CRM.
• Support the development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks to ensure future projects can deliver strong, funder‑ready impact reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams to collect evidence of impact and evaluate programme performance.
• Support audit processes related to restricted funding alongside the Finance team.
• Use data-driven insights and KPIs to evaluate and refine strategies for maximum impact and return on investment.

Main Duties

• Manage a portfolio of grants, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and timelines
• Coordinate key grant management processes including: Go/No-Go, due diligence, funding agreement review, grant kick off and grant management meetings, narrative and financial reporting and renewals. 
• Deliver compelling, impactful and timely proposals and reports, and broker the relationship between programmes and the funder

We are looking to recruit a Grants and Trusts Fundraiser to join our growing team, as we take Wood Street Mission to the next level. You will be responsible for managing and delivering our Grants and Trusts income stream, developing long-term relationships with funders, and building on our small but successful track record. The Grants and Trusts Fundraiser is a pivotal role in helping us to accelerate our growth even further so we can help more children to thrive free from poverty.

The role is flexible between the office in Manchester and working from home.

Purpose of post

As the Grants and Trusts Fundraiser, you will be responsible for securing grants of varying sizes, translating the charity’s work across our five projects into compelling, high-quality applications for a range of audiences. Working collaboratively with the wider charity team, you will have a hands-on role in understanding our projects to ensure you can authentically convey our mission and our impact to funders. 

You will provide excellent care to existing and new supporters, ensuring reporting requirements are met and that funders are kept informed of how their support has enabled the charity to continue its work.

A key responsibility will be to contribute to and develop the Grants and Trusts fundraising plan. You will work to identify, secure and develop a robust pipeline of grant funders to maximise income and enable continued growth and sustainability of Wood Street Mission’s work. 

Main duties and responsibilities

1. To contribute to and develop the Grants and Trusts fundraising plan as agreed with the Fundraising Lead, to support the charity’s strategy

2. Meet agreed key performance indicators and to monitor and report on these targets

3. To keep up to date with funding policies and grant giving organisation news to inform the fundraising plan

13. To work alongside colleagues within the charity to identify potential grant funding opportunities and potential cross team working opportunities to ensure the charity maximises income across all income streams

The Caerlow Trust (“the Trust”) is a family-led discretionary grant-making trust, governed by four trustees (the Board) that aims to alleviate poverty-related suffering in the United Kingdom.

Role overview and purpose

The Grants Manager will provide a range of services that will be key to the Trust’s grant management cycle including research,  assessment, database management and development, reporting and evaluation. ARUK is migrating to a new grants management system, Flexigrant, creating an exciting opportunity for a Research Grants Manager to act as the product owner for ARUK’s grant-making processes. This role will sit at the intersection of research funding, systems delivery, and stakeholder engagement. You will be responsible for configuring, embedding, and continuously improving Flexigrant to support ARUK’s grant-making activities across the full funding lifecycle — from scheme design and application, through peer review and funding decisions, to post-award management and reporting.

Working closely with colleagues across the Research Funding team, the wider Research Directorate, and external partners and providers, you will ensure that ARUK’s grant processes are robust, user-centred, efficient, and scalable. This role is vital to enabling ARUK to fund the best dementia research and to support and engage our funded research community.

Trusts and Grants Officer x2

Salary: Up to £34,450 (depending on experience)
Location: Leicester, Nottingham or Birmingham, with hybrid working (1–2 days a week in the office, remainder from home)

Help tackle hunger, reduce food waste and create opportunities across the Midlands.
FareShare Midlands is the region’s largest food redistribution charity. We rescue surplus food and get it to over 650 local charities and community organisations, helping to feed around 60,000 people every week. We also provide training and volunteering opportunities, supporting people to build a better future.

As our Trusts and Grants Officer, you will help secure the restricted funding that powers this impact.

About the role
You will manage and grow income from trusts, foundations, statutory funders and grants. Working closely with colleagues, you’ll develop strong proposals, maintain a healthy pipeline and provide excellent stewardship so funders feel informed, appreciated and inspired to continue their support.

What you’ll do

• Manage a portfolio of trust, foundation and grant funders.
• Write clear, compelling funding applications and reports.
• Manage and monitor restricted funding budgets and compliance.
• Build and maintain a 12–18 month pipeline of funding opportunities.
• Carry out prospect research using tools such as Funds Online, the Charity Commission and IDOX.
• Coordinate data, evaluation and case studies for bids and reports.
• Maintain trackers, reporting calendars and accurate income forecasting.

What you’ll bring

• Strong written skills, with the ability to produce persuasive, evidence-based applications and reports.
• Confidence working with budgets, impact data and Excel.
• Experience securing income from trusts, grants and foundations.
• Experience prospecting for new opportunities and stewarding donors, including face to face.
• Flexibility to support occasional events, including some evenings or weekends.
