Job description

We're looking for a resilient and proactive Women's Recovery Practitioner to lead Hope and Visions first women’s community in Gloucester.

We have found our first home, and aim to be open by October.

As well as supporting our first residents, you will play a key role in helping us to open more homes.

No two days will be the same. One day you might be supporting a woman with child contact arrangements, the next helping a woman prepare for employment, or arranging repairs to one of our homes.

You will also be liaising with prospective landlords as we grow our community.

If you enjoy variety, can work independently, and want to make a genuine difference in the lives of women, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role

The role includes:

  • Supporting women to maintain recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.
  • Providing one-to-one keywork and helping women achieve their personal goals.
  • Supporting mothers with parenting, family relationships and reunification where appropriate.
  • Facilitating groups and encouraging women into volunteering, education, training and employment.
  • Coordinating referrals and welcoming new residents into the service.
  • Undertaking drug and alcohol testing.
  • Working with landlords and tradespeople to ensure properties remain safe, comfortable and well maintained
  • Helping build a positive, supportive community where women feel valued, respected and able to flourish.

About you

  • We're looking for someone who can build trusting relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
  • You will be a confident decision maker and able to work independently.
  • You may already have experience working in addiction, homelessness, domestic abuse, mental health, family support or another trauma-informed setting.
  • Most importantly, you will be passionate about walking alongside women as they create lasting change in their lives.

What we offer

  • 25 days annual leave (pro rata), plus bank holidays
  • Pension scheme.
  • Flexible working across the week.
  • Training and ongoing professional development.
  • A supportive, values-led team.
  • The opportunity to play a key role in transforming the lives of women and their families.

 Our values

We are committed to creating an environment where every woman is treated with dignity, compassion and hope. We welcome applicants who share our commitment to empowering women, promoting equality and working in a trauma-informed way.

As an organisation with a Christian ethos, we ask that applicants are supportive of our vision, mission and Christian ethos.
