The role

In this role you will have a caseload of disabled customers who need your advice and guidance. You will empower them to move into work.

Your base will be at our London Office, but you will be working within our extended employment team who deliver to our customers across England and Wales.

Although office based, we offer a hybrid model of delivery so working from home for part of your week is available.

Travel to meet with our customers or stakeholders and events across your local area is part of this role.

About the role

You will be expected to lead and deliver a proportion of day opportunity activities as part of the planned programme and as an opportunity to provide practice leadership to the wider team. What will you be doing?

About the role

Alongside the Service Manager, you are responsible and accountable for monitoring, maintaining and providing the highest standards of clinical and personal support and service delivery, while promoting independence and choice to the people supported in the service. You will support the Service Manager to manage and ensure the delivery of the service’s key quality and safety priorities by holding delegated responsibility in key areas of the day-to-day running of the supported living activity/service. You will also have delegated responsibility for the direct supervision and line management of a team of support workers. As a senior member of the team, you will promote and lead good practice at all times, doing all you can to make sure that the people we support and their colleagues come to no harm and that the people we support are satisfied with the level of support they receive by acting as an
exemplary role model.

As a Deputy Service Manager, flexibility is important for both you and for the service. You will be required to do on-call shifts during out of office hours. You will be expected to work 20% of your total weekly hours on shift across your assigned services and will be able to role model all aspects of a support worker role duties and responsibilities. Following your time on shift, and in general practice at all other times, you will have responsibility for reporting back to the Service Manager and for maintaining a continual dialogue loop of feedback that focuses on quality, and continuous improvement and learning and ensuring the smooth operation of the allocated group of services.

- You will have significant, recent experience at a front-line management level in field of learning disabilities in regulated services which may have included being a Registered Manager

We are looking for a talented and motivated Finance professional to fulfil a key Finance Business Partner role supporting the Fundraising and Communications, Advocacy, and Activism (CAA) directorates at Mencap. This role will help deliver high quality insight and financial management which informs decision-making and helps to ensure maximum impact from our fundraising income. 

As the Finance Business Partner for Fundraising and CAA you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient utilisation of financial resources to maximise fundraising returns and ensure efficient spend which is aligned to strategic objectives. NB. This is a full time 12-month FTC position.

There is flexibility around where the role is based. We have large offices in London and Peterborough and smaller offices located throughout the UK and you may need occasional travel to for meetings. However, this role will primarily be working remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare timely, accurate, and insightful management reporting for the directorates, facilitating informed decision-making and effective financial management.

· Support Finance Lead to provide a comprehensive Finance Business Partnering service to business areas.

· Support financial planning processes and provide analysis, guidance and challenge to ensure the development of robust and credible plans.

· Identify risks and opportunities related to fundraising financial performance, providing strategic guidance to mitigate risks and maximize opportunities effectively.

· Ensure correct accounting and reporting of Restricted Funds, ensuring they are spent as intended and support on reporting to external funders where required.

· Ensure financial compliance with technical and regulatory requirements, including gift aid and Charity Commission guidance.

What You Will Bring:

Your Experience:

Highly Desirable:

· Finance Business Partnering and/or Financial Planning experience. Ideally in a Fundraising or income-generating unit.

The role will be varied and the successful candidate will have the chance to work across a variety of key communications activities, with a primary focus on social media.

There will be freedom for creativity and trying out new ideas, with a focus on personal development through training and ongoing support by working closely with the newly promoted Campaigns Manager who previously fulfilled a similar role.

About Face Equality International: 

Face Equality International works to mobilise an alliance of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), charities and support groups to further the campaign for ‘face equality’.

Responsibilities 
 

• Social media – Written, graphic and video content to be produced to support FEI’s mission. With the support from the Campaigns Manager, the Communications Officer will lead on developing engaging content to amplify the voices of the facial difference community. Accessible content standards are essential.  
   

• Graphic/video editing – Using tools such as Canva or CapCut to create and edit content.  
   

• Website updates – All FEI staff have access and responsibility to collectively update our WordPress site in line with their role.
   

• Copywriting – Creating content for social media primarily with the addition of blogs and other written marketing materials on occasion.  
   

• Engagement – Community management and engagement via online channels, including influencer outreach.  
   

• Monitoring and evaluation – using analytics to track impact. 
   

• Ad hoc tasks: Supporting the team with ad hoc administrative and communications duties as requested.

Past experience: 

• Experience of producing content for digital channels is essential.  

• Experience of copywriting is essential.  

• Experience of design programs such as Canva or Photoshop is essential. 

• Experience/knowledge of the social justice and equality movements, particularly those devoted to the disability and disfigurement community, is desirable but not essential.

Knowledge and skills: 

• Excellent communication skills – both written and oral, and the ability to communicate to our diverse global audience with care and professionalism. 

• Good interpersonal skills in order to collaborate with volunteers, staff, members and our wider community.

• Good knowledge of brand guidelines, tone of voice, and adhering to overarching strategy.

• IT literacy – knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential. 

• Knowledge of website, social media and newsletter content management systems. 

• Ability to work to tight deadlines, and to prioritise workload. 

• Attention to detail and good organisational skills.

• Willingness and enthusiasm to learn, and grow as the face equality movement does.

Your role

As Shop Manager, you’ll have autonomy to run Scope's Batley Shop using your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You will have relevant experience in retail but a great attitude and willingness to learn is just as important.

 

About you

As Shop Manager you’ll be passionate about retail and have a love of fashion with experience of running a shop, or you’ll be looking for a management role as the next step in your career. To be successful, you’ll need a commercial, can-do attitude and always put the customer’s needs first. You’ll be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic, a great attention to detail, solid IT skills and a creative eye for displays. We’re extremely proud of the support we offer to those living with inherited, progressive sight loss.  Our services provide a safe place to find accurate information about inherited retinal conditions; to ask questions and share thoughts, feelings and anxieties with those who genuinely understand.

We are growing our information and support service and looking for two Helpline and Information Coordinators to join our team  working 21 hrs per week.

You will be the first point of contact for our telephone helpline, actively listening to callers, assessing their needs and providing high quality information and signposting to Retina UK’s resources including our amazing team of lived experience volunteers who will provide emotional support and guidance as well as coping strategies.  We believe that our community deserve the very best support and you will be the professional face of our telephone helpline.

Additionally, you will have responsiblity for the development of information materials and online resources, further enhancing the support we offer to our community.  We are looking for someone with previous experience in a similar role with a charity or in an eye health and social care setting.  If you want to ensure that people living with inherited, progressive sight loss have the best support experience when they really need it, we’d love to hear from you.

We would like to see disabled people and their families have an equal standard of living to non-disabled people. This Grants Specialist role is essential in supporting disabled households to access support by identifying and securing grant funding. The role also concentrates on providing expert guidance and support throughout the application process for grants.

Fixed term until March 2026, 35 hours per week. 

Location: Working at Scope's Leeds office and working from home (hybrid)

In this role you will be:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Researching and identifying grant funding opportunities suitable for disabled households, with a focus on energy support and broader needs.
• Offering tailored advice and support to colleagues, ensuring they are equipped to identify and assist clients with grant applications.
• Creating and maintaining resources, such as guides and templates, to streamline the grant application process for colleagues and customers.
• Conducting training sessions for colleagues on identifying funding opportunities and supporting service users through the application process.
• Analysing feedback and engagement data from customers to refine and enhance the advice and support provided.
• Ensuring all information related to grant opportunities is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to individuals with diverse needs.
• Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to maximize the reach and impact of grant funding support.
• Managing tasks and projects independently to contribute effectively to the team's goals, in line with the organisation’s commitment to equality and inclusion.

About You 

• You will have strong experience in identifying and securing grant funding, preferably with a focus on support for disabled individuals or households. Demonstrated Skills in Training or education, particularly in a support or service context.
• You will play a pivotal role in data analysis to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Energy Services.
• You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to be able to communicate difficult and complex information. A strong ability to convey complex information in an accessible way and engage diverse audiences.
•  You will be skilled in research and information gathering, with a methodical approach to evaluating grant opportunities. Ability to respond positively to change while being able to work effectively with conflicting priorities.
•  You will be highly organised with the capacity to manage multiple priorities when delivering training sessions and one-to-one support. A collaborative team player, capable of working effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
•  It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of IT including Microsoft Office Products. Excellent attention to detail when using databases and proficient in data analysis for service delivery improvement.
•  You will bring drive and enthusiasm to your role and can demonstrate that you care passionately about improving the lives of disabled people and their families.

As the Grants and Statutory Funding Manager, you will be pivotal in securing appropriate grants to meet our annual grant income target at Gympanzees. This position is ideal for someone with proven experience in researching and crafting successful grant applications. You'll be tasked with distilling complex information into compelling narratives that effectively convey our mission and objectives while aligning with grant requirements. Excellent copywriting skills are essential, as you'll need to create engaging and informative content that tells our story authentically. Your approach will be highly organised and methodical to ensure accuracy and compliance with grant briefs. Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, you'll collaborate closely with a high-level fundraising team to maximize funding opportunities and drive positive impact.

As part of this work, our Engagement Team engages a wide range of people in the Trust’s vision for Gloucestershire, and our Marketing and Communications are integral to this.

 We are looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager to develop and manage the marketing and communications function and team at Barnwood Trust. This includes Barnwood Trust’s websites, social media channels and print media, as well as responsibility for marketing and logistics planning for public-facing workshops and events.  

Expertise in communications, including delivering high standards of accessibility, implementing organisation-wide communications and marketing strategies, and line management experience are welcomed for this role.

Summary of key duties: 

Management of Barnwood’s external communications channels  

• To engage with a wide range of external audiences, including Barnwood Circle members, potential project partners and participants in our convening and learning activities.  

• To manage communications and marketing strategic plans, and their delivery for Barnwood Trust.  

• To coordinate printed and digital products, in a range of accessible formats and in line with the Trust’s vision.

You may also deputise and be responsible for running the shop when the shop manager is absent. A great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as relevant experience.

You’ll be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic and committed to providing excellent customer service. You do not need specific retail experience. But we do ask that you are business minded and have worked in a fast paced, service environment where you put the customer’s needs first. You’ll also need to showcase a great attention to detail, solid IT skills and have a creative eye for displays.
