Could you be a Sense Deputy Manager?
Sense is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and well organised Deputy Manager to join our team at Sense College Knapwell.
This is a permanent, full time position, working Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week across 45 weeks of the year.
As the Deputy Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the adult social care provision, this involves working with the staff team to deliver a range of activities both within the center and in the community. The successful candidate will work with the Education Services Manager to ensure that the training, development and management of staff effectively reflects the needs of the service and ensuring at all times that the service is compliant with its statutory requirements.

Your required skills and experiences:
- A full UK license and use of your own vehicle is essential.
- A minimum of Level 2 in Maths and English
- Proven experience of supervising and line managing staff in accordance with policy and legislation.
- A good understanding of Safeguarding.
- A clean licence and own car is essential for the post.
- Experience with writing care plans and has a good understanding of person-centred planning and approaches

About Sense Centre Knapwell
The centre is situated on the outskirts of Cambridge approximately 10 miles outside of Cambridge, in the village of Knapwell, approached through an avenue of mature trees and surrounded by farm land, and with its own garden area. The centre is also a similar distance from Huntingdon, St Neots and St Ives as it is to Cambridge.
The centre offers a wide range of education activities that use a person centred approach tailored to learner needs and interests. Programmes focus on developing communication and independent living skills, using the Sense Curriculum Framework to plan individualised targets and objectives that result in achievement and significant outcomes. Specialist trained teaching staff support individuals on their learner journey, inspiring individual progress by encouraging confidence and celebrating success, enabling them to reach their full potential.

Job Purpose
To support SEND (young people with disabilities) on the Shaw Trust supported internships to progress on their work placements and make successful transitions into paid work. To provide training and support for business partners and families, to ensure success during the workplace placements and to seek out job opportunities both within and outside of the host employer.
Position available in Wakefield
Shaw Trust provides support to young people across schools, SFA that include providing information advice, guidance and support to ensure young people are able to assess their attributes and circumstances, planning to meet learning goals, supporting the intern to implement their plans and keeping these under review.
We would like individuals that are committed to supporting and engaging with young people to ensure they develop resilience and are able to make positive and sustainable transitions through education and training into employment. In particular, those that are energetic, passionate, dynamic and innovative in their approach to achieving the above.
Job Description
- Provides individualised support for interns at the host business worksite placement or competitive job which includes: job coaching, identifying job placements, assistive technology, etc.
- Attends host business induction to ensure student understanding and learning
- Works with managers and co-workers to educate on disability awareness
- Communicates with parents on a regular basis
- Visits students and give feedback to all team members
- Meets daily with tutor to discuss student progress
- Meets regularly with business liaison, managers and peer mentors to discuss student strengths and challenges, issues, progress, etc
- Works with tutor to plan events such as induction, information nights/Open days and graduation
- Works with other team members to provide internal and external marketing for business and community such as newsletter articles, website information, tours, community presentations, social media etc.
- Communicates effectively with the tutor, other job coaches, the senior practitioner, employers, co-workers, family members, and school and agency personnel as it relates to the student being trained.
- Carries out steps of job coaching plan with students and other parties as appropriate.
- Work with employers, families, job placement specialist, agency personnel, school personnel and other appropriate parties to problem solve issues related to training and employment.
- Train students in the areas of grooming, hygiene, communication, interviewing, and behaviour as they relate to successful employment.
- Provides travel training to job site if necessary.
- Communicates with tutor to make final decisions regarding any issues that may affect student success at a worksite rotation or competitive job site.
- Participates in decision-making process to identify and implement training strategies and/or services with other staff and host business staff.

Person Specification
- NVQ Level 6 or equivalent qualification in Careers Education and Guidance, Youth and Community work or Social Care (or willing to work towards)

- Strong communicator verbally, in writing and using various IT tools with a diverse group including Senior Managers, other professionals, young people and parents.

Job Title: Fundraiser
Reporting to: Executive Director
Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 pa depending on experience (prorated for part-time hours)
Hours: 24 hours per week
Benefits Employers pension contribution 3% of salary, holiday entitlement 30 days including bank holidays (prorated for hours worked)
Location: The role will be a virtual role with occasional requirement to attend meetings or events in person (including weekend or evening events).
The role:
Our charity is growing, and we are now looking for our first employed Fundraiser who will take the lead on all fundraising activities and will be responsible for helping us raise funds from Trusts and Corporates. The role will be focused on grant bidwriting and will include exploration and development of other partnerships, as well as helping us develop other areas of fundraising activity such as individual giving.
The Fundraiser will be part of a small dedicated team who work to help families and professionals to support children and young people with ADHD. You will lead the way in helping open doors to potential new funding opportunities helping the charity achieve their mission of providing better knowledge and understanding of ADHD and supporting young people with the condition.
The duties: The role will cover the following tasks:

Grants:

Researching and creating a pipeline for target grant applications and being proactive in identifying grant opportunities.

Agree with Chair and Executive Director annual approach to grants to be targeted ie core vs project.

Prepare draft applications working closely with Executive Director to include relevant case studies and quotes, service statistics, etc.

Coordinate review and sign off process and make submissions within the required deadlines of funders.

Maintain databases on grant applications and ensure all applications and related working papers are filed on the central filing system.

Ensure that monitoring and evaluation forms are completed on a timely basis.

Other partnerships

Develop and maintain a plan to identify corporates and other parties to partner with either in sponsorship arrangements, seeking donations or becoming a corporates selected charity to receive organisational support.

Work closely with colleagues on mapping out local corporates and schools to be approached by them.

Research and identify key awards that we should target for consideration and establish how best to be nominated.

In cases of self-nomination prepare draft and coordinate through review and approval process and ensure timely submission.

Experience
