As part of a small charity team, the Fundraising Lead will play a key role in generating income to support our mission. This role covers all aspects of fundraising, with a particular focus on securing grants, engaging local businesses the community and delivering successful fundraising events. The postholder will work collaboratively to develop and implement fundraising strategies that build strong relationships and ensure sustainable income streams. 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Grant Fundraising Research and identify suitable grant opportunities from trusts, foundations and statutory bodies. Prepare compelling funding applications and supporting documentation. Maintain accurate records of applications, deadlines and outcomes. Build and nurture relationships with funders, ensuring timely reporting and compliance. 

Community Fundraising Develop and support community fundraising initiatives, including local partnerships, volunteer-led activities and campaigns. Engage with supporters, schools and local businesses to encourage participation and donations. Provide resources and guidance for community fundraisers to maximize success. 

Events Plan, organise and deliver all types of fundraising events (both in-person and virtual), ensuring they are engaging and profitable. Manage event logistics, budgets and volunteer coordination. Promote events through appropriate channels, including social media and marketing platforms (training and support will be given) to maximise attendance and income. 

General Fundraising Duties Contribute to the overall fundraising strategy and income targets. Monitor and report on fundraising performance, providing insights and recommendations. Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and best practice. Represent the charity at external events and networking opportunities. 

Person Specification 

Essential: Experience in fundraising, with a track record in grants, community, or events. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Excellent relationship-building skills. Creative and proactive approach to problem-solving. 

Desirable: 

Knowledge of fundraising regulations and best practice.

Then, you’ll get out there meeting individuals, businesses and community leaders across Bristol and beyond showing them how they can be part of something special. Our Founder Patron campaign is already underway, and you will play a key role in driving it forward in the lead up to our grand opening this year. You’ll build important relationships and secure long term support for 224 Youth Zone. When we open, your focus will shift to keeping those relationships strong, helping first time supporters become lifelong partners through thoughtful and creative engagement. You will also lead the way in growing our wider support base, finding new ways for businesses and individuals to get involved and give back.

About Us
Baca is dedicated to providing support and care to 16 to 18 year old unaccompanied asylum seeking children who are newly arrived in the country, helping them rebuild their strength, dignity, and hope for the future. We work closely with social workers and representatives from other agencies to benefit the young people in our care.

Role Overview
As a Support Worker, you will be a key worker for several young people in Baca's care, providing high-quality holistic and therapeutic support for their transition to adulthood. You will deliver services in line with Baca’s Theory of Change, ensuring the highest quality outcomes in physical and emotional wellbeing, education, employment, training, social engagement, and personal safety.

We're looking for an organised and proactive Individual Giving Executive to join our team. In this role, you'll manage a variety of campaigns across channels such as direct mail, telephone, digital, and face-to-face.

Purpose of role

Lumos is entering an exciting period of strategic transformation to strengthen our operational foundations, refine our systems, and enhance our capacity to deliver on our mission to realise every child’s right to a family. The Senior Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in building the operational foundations and risk-aware culture needed for success both now and as the organisation prepares for the future.

As a delivery partner to the Director of People & Operations, the Senior Operations Manager leads the implementation of agreed operational priorities, strengthens country office and partner capability, and ensures that operational standards, policies, and practices are consistently embedded across existing and new geographies. The role provides independent oversight and assurance across operational risk, safety, security, and safeguarding, working closely with delivery teams while retaining the authority to challenge, escalate, and inform senior decision-making.

This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who thrives on systems thinking, coordination, and execution, and who is motivated by turning risk awareness, data, and lessons learned into practical organisational improvement that strengthens organisational resilience and impact.

Primary responsibilities

Operational leadership & delivery

• Act as a senior delivery partner to the Director of People & Operations, leading the implementation of agreed operational priorities.
• Coordinate cross-functional operational delivery across Operations, Safeguarding, and Security.
• Deputise for the Director of People & Operations in internal and external forums as appropriate, with delegated authority.

Global safety, security & incident management (focal point)

• Act as Lumos’ organisational focal point for safety, security, and travel risk, coordinating risk management frameworks, systems, and oversight across the organisation.
• Work closely with, and oversee the delivery of, Lumos’ global safety and security consultant(s), ensuring clear scope, quality outputs, and effective follow-through.
• Monitor safety and security incidents across the organisation, ensuring appropriate recording, escalation, follow-up, and learning.
• Coordinate incident response in line with agreed protocols, working closely with country teams and external security specialists.
• Lead lessons-learned processes following incidents and ensure recommendations are embedded into systems, guidance, and practice.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of safety and security standards across country offices and partners.

Safeguarding & PSEA (operational oversight)

• Provide operational oversight and coordination of safeguarding and PSEA frameworks, working closely with specialist safeguarding focal points, leads, and consultants while the recruitment and scoping of a Global Safeguarding Lead is planned across 2026.
• Monitor implementation of safeguarding and PSEA standards, policies, and training across country offices and partners.
• Support incident tracking, information management, and follow-up actions, ensuring confidentiality, proportionality, and appropriate escalation.
• Contribute to organisational learning and continuous improvement in safeguarding practice.

Risk management, contingency & assurance frameworks

• Lead the development, implementation, and refinement of operational risk management and risk assessment frameworks across Lumos.
• Ensure consistent approaches to risk identification, mitigation, escalation, and assurance across countries, partners, and programmes.
• Maintain and monitor operational risk registers, ensuring risks are actively reviewed and managed.
• Coordinate comprehensive contingency planning, crisis protocols, and organisational preparedness.
• Support due diligence and risk assessment processes for partners, vendors, programmes, and new geographies.

Programme, MEAL & risk integration

• Work closely with Programme and MEAL teams to embed operational risk, safety, security, and safeguarding considerations into programme design, delivery, and monitoring.
• Support the development of proportionate, decision-useful KPIs related to operational risk, duty of care, safety, security, and safeguarding.
• Strengthen alignment between operational risk management and programme assurance and learning processes.

Operational systems, policy tracking & insurance

• Lead the development and improvement of operational systems, trackers, workflow,s and dashboards to strengthen consistency, quality assurance, and organisational insight.
• Maintain and oversee policy trackers across Operations, Safeguarding, and Security, ensuring review cycles, ownership, and implementation are monitored.
• Develop operational reporting, audit, and monitoring mechanisms that complement existing MEAL, programme, and governance systems.
• Support audits and internal reviews by maintaining clear documentation and evidence.

Performance insight, reporting & organisational learning

Purpose of role

We are looking for a committed and proactive Support Worker to join our team working with young people. This is a rewarding frontline role where you will support young people to develop essential life skills, increase independence, and move towards positive, sustainable futures.

You will work directly with customers in a supported accommodation setting, building trusting relationships and providing practical, emotional, and administrative support. You’ll be part of a dedicated team, working closely with internal colleagues and external agencies to ensure high-quality, safe, and person-centred support.

Key responsibilities

• Build supportive, professional relationships with young people
• Deliver regular, engaging keywork sessions aligned to individual support plans
• Provide day-to-day direct support, including daily living skills and tenancy sustainment
• Support customers with Universal Credit and Housing Benefit claims
• Maintain daily case management, accurate record keeping, and case notes
• Proactively manage risk, safeguarding concerns, and incidents in line with policy
• Follow missing person procedures and escalate concerns appropriately, including liaising with the police when required
• Enforce licence agreements and promote positive behaviour within the service
• Work collaboratively with external agencies including NHS professionals, social workers, and the police
• Encourage rent payments and support effective rent account management
• Promote social inclusion and community engagement
• Uphold health & safety, safeguarding, and organisational policies at all times

What we’re looking for

You’ll be someone who is calm, resilient, and motivated, with a genuine passion for supporting young people.

Essential:

• Ability to manage challenging behaviour positively
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to take responsibility

Desirable:

• Experience in supported housing or homelessness services
• Knowledge of benefits systems and safeguarding procedures

Hours: Full-time, rotating shifts

• Early: 8:00am – 4:00pm
• Late: 12:30pm – 8:30pm
• Every other weekend
