The Accounts Receivable Controller plays a key role in the financial management of the School, ensuring the accurate and timely billing, reconciliation, and collection of all tuition, transport, financial aid, after-school, and extracurricular fees. The role manages billing and collection processes for over 900 families and partner organisations, ensuring data accuracy, financial compliance, and an exceptional level of customer service.
This position supports approximately £50 million in annual tuition and related income and requires a detail-oriented, technology-savvy, and proactive professional capable of operating efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Billing and Data Management
Manage end-to-end billing for tuition, transportation, financial aid, after-school programs, and all ancillary charges for the School and its subsidiary.
Maintain accurate family and student billing records in the school’s finance and student information systems (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central).
Collaborate with Admissions, and departmental administrators and other internal stakeholders to ensure timely updates to student and fee data.
Generate, review, and distribute invoices within strict deadlines; ensure compliance with Accounting and VAT regulations as well as school policies and contractual obligations.
Monitor and reconcile data between finance, admissions, and student databases to ensure billing integrity.
Prepare and maintain accurate audit trails for all transactions.
Collections and Customer Relations
Manage the collection of fees and ensure that payments are received in line with the School’s terms and conditions.
Communicate effectively and empathetically with parents, companies, and sponsors regarding outstanding balances.
Negotiate payment plans where appropriate, maintaining professionalism and discretion when dealing with sensitive personal circumstances.
Work collaboratively with the Finance Manager and Director of Finance & Operations to review overdue accounts and agree on next steps.
Reconciliation and Reporting
Perform regular reconciliations between the fees ledger, bank accounts, and other sub-ledgers.
Analyse billing and cash flow trends; prepare reports for management, auditors, and the Board as required.
Produce insightful analytical reports on billing to assist in long-term financial planning.
Support external audits and provide all necessary documentation related to fees and revenue.
Systems, Innovation, and Process Improvement
Utilise financial systems effectively; identify opportunities to improve automation, reporting accuracy, and user experience.
Contribute to digital transformation initiatives such as online payment platforms, automated invoicing, and data analytics tools.
Ensure compliance with relevant UK financial, consumer, and data protection legislation, including GDPR, Consumer Credit Act, and HMRC guidelines.
Maintain awareness of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and apply appropriate due diligence when processing and verifying payments from individuals and organisations.
Identify and escalate potential compliance or irregular payment concerns to the Director of Finance & Operations.
Develop and document best practices and standard operating procedures to ensure efficiency and consistency.
Teamwork and Collaboration
Work closely with colleagues across Finance, Admissions, Operations, and Academic departments.
Provide support and training to other team members on billing processes and systems.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer service.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
A professional qualification in the accounting and finance field or equivalent.
Substantive experience in an accounting, billing, or accounts receivable role.
Proficiency with financial management systems (e.g. Business Central, iSAMS, Sage, or similar).
Advanced Excel and data reconciliation skills.
Strong understanding of financial controls and internal audit practices.
Awareness of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) principles and responsibilities.
Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
Desirable
Experience in the education sector, particularly within an international or independent school.
Familiarity with financial aid administration, bursaries, or corporate billing.
Experience managing large account portfolios (500+ customers).
Knowledge of UK accounting standards and charity finance compliance.

We also have an extensive collection of online resources and guides. We attend as many Pride events as we can and our work supports thousands of people every year. This support is provided by an active base of FFLAG volunteers who are parents of LGBT+ children themselves, supported by other volunteers and allies.
What this job is all about
As Volunteer Coordinator, you'll make sure FFLAG's volunteers are properly recruited, trained and supported, so they can continue doing this work well. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will:
Identify what volunteers FFLAG needs, then recruit, induct and train them, including DBS checks and references
Maintain training, the volunteer handbook and the Code of Conduct up to date
Maintain regular contact with volunteers, so they stay engaged, safe and supported
Act as FFLAG's Safeguarding Lead, providing regular supervision to support volunteers
Keep accurate records, liaise with Trustees, and report on volunteer activity to the Board
Be a member of the Services and Support Committee
Provide support to the Operations Manager with events, as required

This role needs someone who's organised, approachable, and motivated by helping people do well - but it also needs real, hands-on experience of volunteer coordination from day one, since it's a small, part-time role with no one else to lean on for this work. Stopover provides the only female-specific supported housing for young women in Brighton & Hove and West Sussex. The service offers a pathway from high to low levels of support, giving young women aged 16–25 a safe and stable environment in which to rebuild their lives and move toward independence.
You will work primarily within our low to medium-level support projects, supporting young women who have often experienced trauma, abuse, mental health challenges, and housing instability. Your role will be to build consistent, trusting professional relationships and support residents in developing confidence, life skills and resilience.

Senior People Business Partner – 6 Month Maternity Cover
We are seeking an experienced Senior People Business Partner to provide strategic HR leadership, expert advice and support across a complex organisation.
Salary: £60,000 pro rata
Contract: 6-month maternity cover
Hours: Full time, 36 hours per week with flexible core working hours
Location: London – hybrid working, with Wednesdays in the office

About you
You will be an experienced HR/People professional with a strong track record of operating at Senior Business Partner level within a large or complex organisation.
You will bring substantial generalist HR experience, including managing complex employee relations matters and advising senior stakeholders on sensitive people issues.
Experience within a unionised environment is highly desirable, and candidates with experience of working within the public sector or a similarly complex, highly governed organisation would be particularly well suited.

About the Role
We're looking for an ambitious and strategic Head of External Relations to lead delivery of Plunkett UK's Stronger Movement strategic priority, helping to grow our visibility, influence, membership and external relationships.
This is a senior leadership role with a particular focus on strengthening our communications and marketing. You'll help ensure Plunkett's impact, expertise and role within the rural community business movement are better understood by community businesses, funders, policymakers, corporate partners and other key stakeholders. Working closely with the Chief Executive and leading a multidisciplinary team, you'll develop compelling communications, build our profile and ensure our voice is heard where it matters most.
You'll also lead the development of our membership strategy, helping us strengthen and grow the rural community business movement, while providing strategic oversight of our policy, public affairs and research work. The role offers an exciting opportunity to shape how Plunkett is perceived externally, build influential relationships and contribute directly to the organisation's long-term sustainability and impact.

Age UK is recruiting for a Finance Analyst for a 6-month fixed term contract.
In this role you will support the Finance and Corporate Services team to provide high-quality financial data analysis, develop modelling and provide business intelligence for the organisation.
Key areas of responsibility are:
Financial Analysis: With the support of the FP&A Manager, work with operational managers and directors to identify and develop modelling to give high level business insight to drive operational and strategic decision making.
Reporting: Develop periodic reports for management. These reports may include return on investments, cost analysis and forecast modelling.
Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of the company's budget and forecasts, which may involve preparing financial models and forecasting future demand for services and cost analysis as well as assisting with loading budgets into the system.
Financial Projects: Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives involving finance and other departments.
This is a hybrid opportunity, a blend of homebased and office working. Our linked office for this role is at One America Square, London (EC3N 2LB) and you would be expected to attend as and when required.
