Donor Engagement Manager

The Donor Engagement Manager is responsible for communicating IFAW’s vision, strategy, and impact to inspire significant philanthropic commitments for IFAW's work from high-net-worth individuals and family foundations. Role and Responsibilities
The Donor Engagement Manager is an integral component of IFAW’s global Development team. Reporting to the Deputy Vice President, Development, the Donor Engagement Manager leads a robust donor communications, engagement, and stewardship program for high-net-worth (HNW) individuals, spearheading the development of strategy and plans, and supervising a team of contractors and freelancers for project implementation. The successful candidate will contribute to the attainment of ambitious growth goals (including current use, endowments, and significant gifts in will), by inspiring donors’ philanthropic support and leading the creation and implementation of a suite of donor communications and experiences.
Critical responsibilities include:
Create dynamic donor engagement plan
· Spearhead donor engagement plans, including cultivation, stewardship experiences, and recognition
· Drive a robust calendar of communications and activities to optimize donor engagement, mission impact, and a best-in class donor experience with IFAW
· Advise and support frontline fundraisers with strategy and content for donor communications and proposals; collaborate with gift officers on HNW individual donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts, including development of custom proposals and cases for support
· Collaborate with communications and program teams to create compelling donor impact reports, donor newsletters, webinars, bespoke proposals, and other tools that drive and support effective engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major- and principal-level gifts as well as larger legacy commitments; maintain curated library of assets for gift officers to use or customize
· Gather and share impact stories, data, and testimonials to demonstrate the value of donor contributions
· Plan and oversee execution of exclusive engagement opportunities (in-person and virtual) for target audience, designed to highlight IFAW programmatic expertise and build stronger donor relationships
· Develop and implement personalized stewardship plans for select principal and major donors, working closely with frontline fundraisers and relationship managers
· Ensure all donor touchpoints reflect the organization’s mission and values, and that donors feel valued and connected
Manage projects and personnel
· Lead, coach, and manage a team of freelancers responsible for communications, stewardship, and engagement activities; oversee contracts, monitor deliverables and expenditures
· Maintain strong relationships with program leaders across the global organization, keeping apprised of IFAW’s programmatic work to identify topics that will appeal to high-net-worth donors and prospects
· Analyze donor engagement metrics, track trends, and report on the effectiveness of engagement and stewardship strategies.
Collaboration and fundamentals
· Ensure routine fundraising communications and templates for major gifts are up-to-date, accurate, and on brand (e.g., fundraising appeals, donor education emails, gift acknowledgments, holiday cards, swag)
· Manage creation and updates of bespoke proposals so that they are timely and well-designed
· Improve integration of mail / email outreach
· Collaborate with communications and marketing teams to optimize use and creative repurposing of resources and collateral materials
· Enhance web presence (philanthropy pages) to incorporate donor testimonials and demonstrate impact of philanthropic support
· Update and improve naming opportunities for major and principal gifts, named and endowed funds, larger legacies and blended gifts from HNW individuals
Strategic guidance and innovation
· Collaborate with DVP Development to recommend and implement effective points of contact with donors for the purposes of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of six-figure+ gifts
· Identify opportunities to present our work more effectively and enhance the donor experience
· Launch or relaunch giving societies – e.g., cumulative lifetime giving, high-end annual giving, legacy society – with an emphasis on philanthropy and engagement rather than perks and benefits
· Advise on ways to streamline and improve donor communications and engagement, e.g., by leveraging technology, balancing push / pull outreach, adjusting the mix of print / digital and other media
· Guide the larger Development team in positioning our programs to inspire greater philanthropic support
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· Minimum 4-5 years of related experience in nonprofit stewardship, donor communications, fundraising, or related transferable experience
· Experience leading a team in a development setting, including direct supervision of colleagues in donor engagement and stewardship; and/or management of a stable of contractors and freelancers
· Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment and lead numerous functions and various projects simultaneously
· Exceptional written communication, relationship-building, project management and collaboration skills
· Intellectual curiosity
· Must be professional, highly organized, creative, efficient, and collaborative.

About Charity Tax Group
CTG is a small, volunteer-led charity that, for over 40 years, has had a huge impact on the charity tax landscape, saving charities an estimated £10bn during that time, including VAT reliefs, the introduction of Gift Aid and significant policy influence. The cornerstone of that success has been a reputation for technical competence and professionalism, making us ‘the voice of charities on tax’ —engaging with government, HMRC and the wider voluntary sector.
We combine technical expertise with advocacy and education to help charities navigate complex tax challenges.
Last year, we were successful in registering as a charity, which opens up new opportunities such as funding and product savings. We also relaunched our annual tax conference, which was the first we had held since COVID.
About the role
We have recently become an independent charity and are recruiting our first Chief Executive to provide leadership, raise our profile and secure long-term sustainability. There is no handbook for what this role should be, and this will be an exciting opportunity to drive strategy, build influence with government and ensure CTG remains the trusted voice of charity tax.
As CEO, you will:
- Act as a credible spokesperson for CTG with government, HMRC, charities and the media
- Work with our Technical Advisor to sustain CTG’s authority and expertise
- Lead on fundraising and income diversification to ensure financial sustainability
- Help establish a vision and operational plan for the future of CTG
Who we are looking for
We are seeking an agile, outward-facing leader who can represent CTG at the highest level.
- Excellent communication, emotional intelligence and influencing skills
- Strong stakeholder and relationship-building ability
- Knowledge of charity tax, or the ability to learn and communicate complex detail quickly
- Fundraising or income generation experience
- Flexibility and motivation to make a difference
We are open to recruiting a leader who might be working towards some of the skills we are seeking, and have an excellent board of Trustees, and a strong technical advisor who can support any new CEO to develop.
We can provide exceptional levels of flexibility to the successful candidate, with most of the role being able to be fulfilled remotely; however, there will be instances where we also require flexibility, such as when we need to provide time-sensitive responses to the media.

A great opportunity has risen for a Sporting + Events Officer to join our ambitious team to help deliver our biggest Fundraising event, the London Marathon and project manage at least one of our other core events to drive income and maximise ROI for the charity.
Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs. We fund cutting-edge research, provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime. You will support the Sporting + Event Manager to deliver the London Marathon, taking ownership of key projects and events within the London Marathon journey and overseeing supporter journeys, recruitment, communications, and event logistics. You will also have the opportunity to manage at least one of our core third party events.
You will have excellent project management skills and some experience of charity fundraising. You will be organised, a strong verbal and written communicator with the ability to empathise and adapt tones. You will have great attention to detail and be adept at managing different tasks simultaneously. You will interact with colleagues at all levels across the organisation and have a great opportunity to develop your event management skillset.

Purpose of the Role
The role of the Project Officer – Legal Services (POLS) is to support the PBLS team’s mission to advance the UN SDGs by brokering pro bono legal assistance from legal experts in support of international NGOs globally. The POLS will do this by coordinating the internal processes for project sourcing, scoping and allocating, and utilising legal expertise within these processes and when providing external training and communications.
A key focus of this role is to source and scope out the weekly pro bono projects and forms. The POLS will also engage law firms and other legal stakeholders, conduct due diligence, allocate projects, maintain project records, gather feedback, prepare internal reports and external communications and undertake other administrative tasks as necessary (e.g. updating software and implementing process changes). Other key responsibilities include assisting the PBLM with any bespoke projects, assisting with training events for Development Partners on relevant legal topics, and engaging key Legal or Development Partners on any specific areas of legal interest or need.

Abianda is a London-based charity that works with young women and girls affected by criminal exploitation and violence, and the professionals who support them. We exist to ensure young women are no longer hidden in our communities and can live free from harm and abuse. We aim to bring about a culture shift in how services are delivered to young women and girls, so that they can access support that works for them when they need it.
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Partnerships and Development to lead and drive our growth, ensuring the long-term sustainability and expansion of our work.
The role will involve combining strategic leadership and operational delivery, with a particular focus on expanding Abianda’s training programmes across the UK, increasing unrestricted income, strengthening partnerships and overseeing impact measurement.
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you will work collaboratively with SLT colleagues to drive Abianda’s strategic objectives, ensuring that all our programmes are delivered effectively across our remit. This role requires dynamic strategic and operational leadership, as well as a commitment to driving the development of best practices within the sector.
This is an exciting time to join the Abianda team. With an ambitious strategy in place, and after securing social investment to support the growth of our training programmes, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's future. You will ensure that our training, consultancy, and income-generating activities are aligned with our mission to support young women affected by criminal exploitation and violence. You will develop and implement strategies to scale our programmes to a national audience, drive income generation through training and fundraising, and enhance our external partnerships to increase Abianda’s reach and influence.
