We are looking for a Domestic Abuse Prevention Worker – All risk to join our team in Stockport. You will undertake individual sessions and group work with people who are causing harm in their relationships and are seeking support to change their abusive behaviours.

The role

In this role you will work with those who cause harm, to undertake individual sessions and group work with men and women whose behaviours identify as harmful. To liaise with referring agencies, actively contribute to risk management procedures and team working. This role will include working with clients through individual programme delivery as well as group work. To work alongside colleagues in Stockport through the local DATAC multi agency risk management approach working with 1-1 with perpetrators of domestic abuse, through delivery of a tailored intervention to support the reduction of risk to victim- survivors and families. TLC: Talk Listen, Change are looking for a Children and Young People’s Rapid Response worker to deliver a crisis service for children and young people aged 5-18 living in the Wigan area who have been arrested following the use of harmful and physically violent behaviours towards their parents / carers. The service is trauma informed, supporting young people to change their behaviour through work with both them and their families. The service will provide a rapid response for young people at crisis point working intensively with individuals and families for a short period of time, and work closely with youth justice teams and other services in the area.

The role

As a Key Worker, you’ll be a game-changer in the lives of young individuals, shaping their future by identifying their struggles and initiating paths for improvement. You’ll collaborate with various agencies, becoming an essential bridge to the resources they require, and implement effective risk management procedures with the support of senior staff. You’ll also serve as a mentor, delivering a variety of program materials focused on prevention, early intervention, and behaviour modification in both one-on-one and group settings. Additionally, you’ll engage with the parents/carers of these young individuals, ensuring they are part of the solution, and make appropriate referrals for partners/ex-partners and children connected to them. Context of the role.

Upbeat Communities delivers several services to welcome refugees and support them to rebuild their lives. We are looking to recruit an Integration Worker who will offer support working on the refugee resettlement scheme.

Refugee resettlement takes place across Derbyshire and Lincolnshire. Over the past 7 years, Upbeat Communities has welcomed and played a key part in the resettlement of Syrian refugees in partnership with local authorities in both counties. This role has included supporting families to apply for universal credit and set up bank accounts, registering with GPs and local schools in addition to integrating into their local community. Since the summer of 2021, we have taken on responsibility for the resettlement of Afghan families in both regions.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in North London for an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic Kinship Youth Worker to lead on a ground-breaking youth project aimed at supporting children and young people in kinship care.

Kinship is the leading kinship care charity in England and Wales. We work with all kinship carers – the grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and family friends who are caring for children when their parents can’t.

No one should feel alone when diagnosed with primary bone cancer. The Bone Cancer Research Trust strives to provide a supportive network for all primary bone cancer patients to limit their feelings of isolation and anxiety. Given the rarity of the disease, patients can often go through their entire treatment and recovery without meeting another patient, so external support is vital.

Over the last 4 years, our Support & Information Service has seen significant growth, and developed to become a leading source of support for patients, family members, siblings and friends of patients.  Our Support & Information team provide enduring support and ensure that this can be accessed at any point in a primary bone cancer journey and by anyone affected.

Our aim is to increase the reach of the service further, ensuring that all patients diagnosed in the UK have the opportunity to access our Support & Information Service.  The Support & Information Officer will play a pivatol role in achieving this through building lasting relationships with both patients and families and healthcare professionals.

We are looking to recruit a Family Services Practitioner to assist with the provision of our whole family holistic approach and to support parents and children in our Family service through a mixture of outreach support and the delivery of a range of learning and play activities. This is an exciting role in our Family Services team that will plan and support safe, creative, inclusive, and appropriate play and learning opportunities and assist in the planning and provision of practical help and emotional support to families experiencing short- or long-term housing and/or financial insecurity. The role is pivotal in reaching the Centre’s goal of helping children and families achieve improved long-term outcomes, greater resilience, and wellbeing.  

Please note that this role requires flexibility to allow for changes to the weekly rota to meet the needs of our clients. During term time, the Family Centre is open on Saturdays and will require some Saturday working. The work pattern rotates from Tuesday – Saturday or Monday – Friday. During the school holiday periods, our programme changes and we do not open on Saturdays. You will therefore work Monday-Friday during these periods.

Person Specification 

The post holder should have a very good command of Portuguese and English, spoken and written, be committed to making a positive difference to people’s lives, have relevant experience in working with families and individuals with a range of needs, and knowledge of domestic abuse and the needs of those who experience it.

●Educated to degree level or equivalent (A qualification in a relevant field such as Community Development, Social work, Domestic Abuse Advisor’ Law or Psychology is desirable).

Key Responsibilities of this role

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing personalised support and group based activities to people accessing our Day Opportunities service in Wandsworth.
• To apply a collegiate approach to deliver strengths based support that maximises independence, knowledge and confidence of those using our services.
• To provide a key point of reference for information and support to those using the services and professionals and carers dependent on it.
• To work from one of our day centres based in Tooting or Southfields and to key work specified individuals and act as a primary contact for the families, carers and other key professionals

Working alongside our other Family Coordinators, you will play a vital role in our team. You will be the first point of contact for families seeking support and will evaluate referrals and carry out home assessments.  You will also be responsible for managing a team of volunteers who support families in the home.  Your role encompasses matching volunteers with families, providing support to volunteers and delivering training.  Alongside your colleagues you will help in the recruitment of volunteers to ensure volunteers have a rich and rewarding volunteer experience.
