Location: Banbury, London, Cardiff, or Belfast – you will be contractually based in the office nearest to you with hybrid working.

The role
As our Strategic Engagement Manager (Fundraising) you will have a core focus to secure new and additional funding streams from Trusts, Foundations and Multi-laterals, you’ll have the ability to put your initiative, organisational skills, and aspirational mindset to the test. This will be a genuine opportunity to make a huge impact and work with considerable freedom to initiate, develop and execute fundraising plans, and collaborate extensively with colleagues, subject matter experts, and external partners. You will act as a broker of ideas, proposals, relationships, and opportunities that further the growth and income targets of WRAP or contribute more directly to the delivery of strategically desirable projects in the UK and internationally.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone with the capability to identify opportunities to grow revenue streams from Trusts, Foundations, and Multi-laterals, but also the strategic and commercial mindset to convert and maximise these. You’ll be an experienced fundraising professional from within the non-profit/charity sector, but a sustainability sector background is not as important as the qualities we’re keenly looking for, which include:
- Experience of working within a charitable fundraising environment, working with philanthropic trusts, foundations, multi-lateral organisations and other funders.
- Evidence of successfully identifying, researching, and approaching potential funders, delivering compelling pitches and proposals, and securing income.
- Effective and efficient communicator, with the ability to translate scientific information into engaging and impactful presentations.
- Collaborative and patient in building relationships and working with colleagues and partners to a specified outcome
- Positive mindset and the ability to identify, generate and develop opportunities and lead programmes of work

This is a pivotal role within the Development Office. The successful candidate will lead the College’s regular giving programme, increasing participation levels and raising funds through targeted direct mail and email appeals, telephone fundraising appeals, and online campaigns. Working hours
Weekly hours of work for a full-time post are 35 hours, normally between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday in the office with an unpaid lunch break. There is flexibility for the postholder to start earlier or later in order to travel to College and some home working may be possible in this role. However, the postholder will need to have a flexible approach to working hours in order to support some activities that are outside these times.

- Maintain accurate records of all corporate activity and income using Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

- Contribute to AvMA’s wider fundraising strategy and cross-team projects.

The opportunity.....
You will play a pivotal role in growing income across the Hospice and leading new, relationship-based approaches to fundraising.
With responsibility for Major Donors, Trusts and Foundations, and Regular and Mid-Value Giving you will create and lead a new strategy to develop these areas and manage and grow a portfolio of high-value relationships.
You will also work hand in hand with Hospice colleagues to identify and curate exciting fundraising propositions, helping to raise strategic funds for our services.
As a leader in the fundraising team, you will provide coaching and management to your team and deputise for the Director Fundraising.
You will be central in forming close working relationships across the Hospice and with the Board of Trustees, enabling a whole hospice approach to fundraising.
The must haves:
- Fundraising Success: At least six years’ experience operating in a Major Gifts or Trusts and Foundations role and a track record of personally securing and stewarding five and six figure gifts
- Strategic thinker: Experience of researching, developing and implementing new strategies, and associated budgets and KPIs, and of developing portfolios, and prospect management tools
- Leading and inspiring: At least four years’ experience of inspiring, managing and developing 1+ line reports
- Proposition development: Creative in outlook and with experience of developing donor-centric fundraising propositions

About the role
The Fundraising Partnerships role is a key role for the team at Shelter Cymru and is one of two management posts. About you
As Fundraising Partnerships Manager you will ideally have had experience in income generation however we are also really keen to speak to candidates who have transferrable skills and are looking to get into the sector. Relationship Management and building relationships is key to this role. You will have had experience in leading and motivating a team as well as experience in working towards financial budgets.
