We have an exciting Assistant Support Worker (known internally as Duty Worker) opportunity where you will develop valuable skills and experience while playing a key role in providing support to St Mungo’s clients.

You will be joining the Westminster Move On and Resettlement Service, which consists of several semi-independent houses and flats in the north of the borough. The staff team provides support to nearly 80 clients many of whom have complex support needs. We work closely with a number of external services specialising in substance use, physical and mental health. Our aim is to support people with a history of sleeping rough, and work with them to develop the skills, networks and confidence to live independently in the community.

In this role you will work closely with the team to jointly manage the safe day to day running of the service, and you will provide basic support and advice to clients. You will often be the first point of contact for clients, contractors, and be a vital part of ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment within the service. You will take a lead role on health and safety and help to coordinate repairs and maintenance and other administrative duties while working alongside the team to provide a person-centred support to clients.

About you

This is a fantastic role for someone looking to develop a career in the sector. We are looking for a friendly, motivated self-starter who is keen to get experience of working directly with our clients. In addition you will have:

• Some experience of dealing directly with the public and/or clients or customers in a busy service environment
• Good communication skills
• Personal experience of homelessness, or an understanding of the issues faced by people who have been homeless
• A genuine interest in helping vulnerable people to make positive changes in their life, and the willingness to develop these valuable skills.

Due to the expansion of the Supported Lodgings service across Nottingham, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our growing team. 

Supported Lodgings is the provision of accommodation and support to care experienced young people between the ages of 16 and 21, within a home environment (either with an individual or family).  Supported Lodgings hosts provide the support and guidance the young person needs to develop the skills for their move on to independent living.

We are looking to recruit to a part time post which will be based both at our office in Beeston and at home.  Working hours will predominantly be office hours during the working week, however there may be the need to work flexibly at times. The role will include travel, primarily within Nottingham City but also the local surrounding areas.   

The primary objectives of this post are:

• To support the expansion of the service within the new Ofsted requirements.  This will include recruitment and assessment of potential hosts.
• To promote the service in order to encourage applications from people who are able to provide supported lodgings accommodation.
• To train and supervise hosts.
• To publicise the service within the Local Authority in such a way as to encourage referrals for young people seeking Supported Lodgings accommodation, followed by careful and responsible matching of young person to host.

About this key role
Working as part of a multi-agency team, we will count on you to lead by example, be the day-to-day expert within the team, and be a positive role model to the team of caseworkers.  Using a strength-based approach, you will provide support, advice and advocacy for young people and their families regarding accommodation, working through person-centred support plans designed to promote choice and control for young people.  You will ensure, on a day-to-day basis, that all monitoring information and evidence is being recorded and collated correctly, and that you promote inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process and include appropriate agencies in the delivery of the service.

You will be based at Hope House. We have two sites: Hope House and Doddsfield Rd. Hope House/ Place is a 10 bed supported housing service, providing support for 16 customers overall. The support hours for Hope House are 24 hours, 7 days a week, with one waking night.

Doddsfield Rd has 6 independent living flats with floating support.

- Undertake key-working responsibilities for a caseload assigned by the Team Leader/ Manager.
- Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs and potential risks and agree levels of support and actions.

This is a youth club that works with young people aged 5 to 17 years old who have learning difficulties, Autism spectrum conditions, including behaviours perceived as challenging as well as mobility, communication, and other health, and social care needs.

The Weekend Club is designed to promote independent time away from parents and carers and to help these young people to gain confidence and complete fun activities in a safe environment. In the near future we will be extending this to a Sunday, so we will be able to support more young people.

Location – Newbridge Centre, Cromer Street, off New Bridge Lane,Stockport SK1 which is a Together Trust service.

Hours – 6.5 hours each week on a Saturday – 9.45am to 4.15pm, with some Sunday working.

Salary - £5,076.38 annual salary (Based on a rate of pay of £12.01ph plus a 25% weekend supplement of £3.00ph over 6.5 hours).

Opening in April 2021, Crawley Crisis Café is a partnership between Richmond Fellowship and Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SPFT). The café will provide support for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis and will be open Monday to Friday 5pm – 11pm and Saturday and Sunday 3pm to 11pm. As Peer Support Coordinator your challenge will be to recruit and induct, with the Service Manager, the volunteers.

The volunteers will work alongside Recovery Support Workers and the Community Psychiatric Nurse to ensure positive outcomes for individuals that have come to the crisis café for support. And, when it comes to contributing to the development of organisational policies and procedures or attending networking events and community meetings to promote the service, recruiting volunteers and compiling a monthly rota for the volunteers again, we’ll rely on you.

To succeed, you’ll need a good understanding of the recovery and personalisation agenda and the principles and practice on which mental health services are run. You must be able to, liaise and work collaboratively with a team of colleagues. You will be well-organised and self-motivated; good problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential, as is an innate ability to cope with personal stress.

Felstead Street is a CQC registered care home, which has a heavy focus on supporting customers with enduring mental health care and elderly needs. We provide 24hr high support to 24 customers both female and male. Our building is a purpose-built home on two floors, offering customers individual bedrooms and the use of shared communal facilities and gardens. The service is commissioned by East London Foundation Trust with the care contribution from London Borough of Hackney.

As a Support Worker at Felstead Street you will play an integral role in supporting our customers to making their lives interesting and enabling to manage their social, physical and emotional well being. You will support our customers with a range of activities and health support throughout the day and to live in a safe living environment. The successful candidate must be able to work some weekends and bank holidays as allocated. This role involves working 5 days a week. Each shift is 8 hours, 8am-4pm or 2.30pm-10.30pm, as allocated on the rota. You must be able to work 9am-5pm for 2 weeks every several weeks as required by the rota.

Job Title: Support Worker

Highway House is a charity that has been providing all year round shelter and support services to the homeless for the past 15 years. Our work with the homeless has evolved an adapted from 2009 to date to offer the support most needed at any given time. Highway House received the Faith Recognition Award for providing specialist services by Her Majesty’s Lieutenant at the Royal College of Medicine in November 2017. We have received the best shelter of the year award 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 by the London Prestige Awards.

Summary of role

This post is responsible for ensuring that guests who attend Highway House are in the first instance made welcome. The primary role will be to engage those guests that attend the day centre and guests that are resident in the shelter’s accommodation in developing a pathway of support for them and help them move to the maximum independence they are capable of.  Providing baseline and continuing monitoring of their progress will be required, as will working closely with the project manager.

· Be responsible for receiving guests 2 days a week (7 hours each day) at the day centre

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of families affected by domestic/sexual abuse. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing holistic support to mothers, children, and young people (CYP) during their time in refuge and as they transition into the community.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Developing and Delivering Services:

   • Provide personalised 1:1 family support services to families residing in the refuge, addressing the impact of domestic/sexual abuse on the family unit.

The Role
