About the Opportunity:
As a brand-new role, this is a unique and exciting role for a learning and development professional to shape and embed a learning culture within the organisation and build an equitable and inclusive training and learning framework.
Reporting into the Head of Human Resources, you will work closely with colleagues across the charity to design and deliver impactful, inclusive learning programmes and interventions that enable Turn2us’s people to feel empowered to deliver on system-changing strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Director of People and Culture and Head of Human Resources to develop the organisation’s L&D strategy, ensuring alignment with Turn2us’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Conduct regular skills audits and create tailored learning pathways across the organisation.
- Collaborate with the EDIB Committee to embed inclusive, equitable training at all levels.
- Create and deliver management development training covering leadership, compliance, and best practice.
- Design onboarding and induction programmes that set new staff up for success.
- Establish metrics to measure learning impact and foster continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain a central knowledge hub, including external partnerships with learning providers.
About You:
- Experienced in L&D strategy, training needs analysis, and programme design.
- Knowledgeable in HR practices and committed to EDIB principles.
- A confident communicator, able to build trusted relationships across all levels.
- Self-motivated, collaborative and organised.
- Ideally experienced in facilitation, though this is not essential.

This involves designing and delivering co-produced and high-impact programmes that support people facing financial insecurity, influence systemic change, and align with the Turn2us 2023–2028 strategy.
The role will lead the Edinburgh Trust team to ensure programme design prioritises equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging (EDIB), and builds strong community partnerships.

Third Solutions has partnered with Turn2us a national charity offering information and practical help to people facing financial insecurity.
The National charity’s HQ is in London, with a growing and dedicated team. They offer practical support, like cash grants and accessible information, to help people thrive, and work in collaboration with a range of place-based and national partners to change the systems and perceptions that cause financial insecurity in the first place.
Turn2us Edinburgh Trust is one of Turn2us’s core place-based programmes. Since 2011, they have awarded thousands of cash grants, working through a network of partners across the city to ensure dignity and tailored support. In addition, piloting the Thriving Futures Fund: a flexible, three-year programme grants that aims to help people move from surviving to thriving.
They are also a founding funder of the Regenerative Futures Fund, a pioneering 10-year pooled community fund in the city supporting local organisations tackling poverty, racial injustice and environmental challenges.

The Candidate:
- Demonstrated experience leading grant making and/or place-based programmes.
- Experience working in or with Edinburgh and Scottish voluntary and statutory sectors.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage programme budgets.
- Track record of building strategic, community-led partnerships.
- Experience working with national programmes or digital services is desirable.

We're now looking for an exceptional Senior PR and Press Officer to help us amplify voices, challenge persistent, negative narratives around the social security system, and shift public attitudes about financial insecurity. Ideally, you’ll already have solid PR and press experience within a charity or comparable organisation’s press office, excellent media contacts, and the strategic mindset to put people’s real lives and complex challenges front and centre in your storytelling.
You’ll be someone who writes clearly and persuasively, handles sensitive topics with genuine care, and who’s excited by the challenge of finding creative ways to engage diverse audiences. Your strong relationships with journalists will help us ensure the voices of people facing financial insecurity are represented accurately, widely, and compassionately in the media.
We offer flexible working patterns, both in terms of hours and remote working. All team members come into our welcoming Farringdon office at least once a week, and you'll be joining a warm, supportive team that believes in each other, celebrates great work, and loves what we do.

Straddling the worlds of communications and fundraising, the role will lead on digital content planning, performance analysis, and brand visibility, ensuring the organisation is agile in responding to emerging trends and opportunities.
A key focus for this role will also be partnerships. We know that to extend our own reach as an organisation, we can’t work alone. If we’re going to grow, we need to be working with other organisations in our space, as well as influencers who can use their platforms to expand our reach.
This role will sit within our friendly, passionate Brand and Communications team, but will have a strong link to our expert Supporter Engagement team.
In terms of experience, we’re looking for a creative and analytical digital communications professional with experience in accessible content creation; campaign planning and evaluation; and working closely with cross-organisational teams to optimise content. Until now, internal communications has been managed across teams, but given the organisation’s growth, we're now looking to build our capacity and bring in some dedicated expertise.
Reporting into the Head of Brand and Communications, this role will work collaboratively across Turn2us, with a strong connection to HR colleagues and specific people strategy deliverables. The right candidate will be passionate about supporting a strong organisational culture, where colleagues feel informed, valued and connected to the organisation.
