For many it is a huge concern as to whether they will be able to return to their current occupation or employer or whether they will ever be able to work or volunteer again following their spinal cord injury.
Back Up’s vocation service aims to be the leader in supporting people with spinal cord injury to return to work and our Vocation Coordinators are the main point of contact to help service users reach their vocational goals. They work in partnership with spinal units and other stakeholders such as employers to raise aspirations, coordinating activities such as our Skills for Work courses and Careers Fair, as well as providing telephone support to service users.
You’ll be a confident communicator with excellent organisational skills in person, in writing and on the telephone. You’ll enjoy planning and delivering work to see projects through; be that independently or as part of a wider team.

The Pepper Pot Centre is a vital, Caribbean & other BME community resource for the over 60s in Kensington & Chelsea and neighbouring Boroughs, seeking to combat discrimination, isolation, depression and loneliness and help our members to take charge of their lives and live in a healthy and independent manner.

We are now seeking a part-time Events Coordinator to join our team for a one-year, fixed term contract, working 21 hours per week.
About the role

We are looking for a highly organised and creative Events Coordinator to join our growing team to plan, deliver and evaluate the effectiveness of events targeted specifically at our 60+ community e.g. trips/visits to parks, museums, Theatre, Seaside and more.
Our new Events Coordinator will support the planning and delivery of a key part of our work, namely: the management of our events programme designed to combat and prevent isolation, loneliness and depression amongst our elders. They will work closely with our sponsor, Global Radio – LBC, Capital Xtra, Heart, Smooth, Classic FM, talkSPORT and more.
Specifically, you will:
- Develop an Events programme, trips, visits, excursions designed to combat discrimination, isolation, depression and loneliness.
- Publicise our programme of events, and activities via digital media, leaflet distribution, open days, and word of mouth etc.
- Support and encourage our members to attend the Events programme of activities.
- Recruit train and organise team of volunteers to support and expand the Events programme.
- Plan, organise administer and accompany members on trips, visits and excursions within and outside the UK and you may be required to work outside normal office hours.
- Produce written reports for the management committee and our sponsor Global Radio.
- Evaluate the success of events through feedback mechanisms, attendance records, and make recommendations
- Adhere to PPC’s internal administrative protocols and procedures, including the Finance Procedures, Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Data Protection policies.
- With the Director, regularly review and update risk assessments for events.
About you
Essential:
- Understanding the essential needs of older people from Caribbean backgrounds and other BME communities
- Previous experience of successfully coordinating events
- Experience of both planned and reactive approaches to event planning/work Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills with a methodical approach to working on several tasks simultaneously and working to deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively diverse populations and build rapport with clients
- Good written and research skills with the ability to draft letters, invites, reports skills
- Be familiar with Microsoft Office, Excel etc.

About Us
Unfold is an established local charity (previously known as Westminster Befriend a Family), supporting young people and families to reach their potential, identifying and achieving their goals through mentoring. We support families and young people in Westminster and its neighbouring boroughs with mentoring programmes and peer support groups for women with children.
For 30 years, we have been providing support to vulnerable families who are at risk of social exclusion. Working with a network of trained and DBS checked volunteers, we offer mentoring to women with children and young people, building independence and getting them where they want to be.

Volunteer Recruitment

We are recruiting a Volunteer Coordinator to promote volunteering for PAPYRUS across England Central, and to recruit, engage and manage volunteers to support the work of the charity.
What you will do:
Recruit, engage, develop and support volunteers in line with agreed procedures
Develop and maintain partnerships to enable and enhance volunteer recruitment
Ensure that volunteers have the necessary training to carry out the tasks that they wish to do and to enhance their skills and abilities for their long-term development
Identify online and face to face events and activities and engage with volunteers to support and enable them to attend. Support volunteers to make local links and engage with projects and organisations that are in line with PAPYRUS values
Meet with volunteers regularly to review activities and engagement
Ensure that volunteering is embedded as part of the team’s operations and is valued within PAPYRUS
Work with other Volunteer Coordinators across the charity to develop volunteering and support cross-area working
To be successful in this role you will have:
Proven experience of recruiting, supporting, engaging, and managing volunteers.
A proven track record of networking and building and managing effective relationships, tailoring the approach to meet the differing needs of the audience
The ability to accurately record and manage data and report on outcomes to deadlines.
The ability to travel to different locations within England Central to attend meetings and events

Hours: 36 hours per week

Primary Responsibilities

Role Overview:

Development and Volunteer Coordinator Lead
Job Type: Fixed Term Contract (Initial 12 month Contract until March 2025 with the possibility of extension)

The Role
This is a new and exciting role based in Lewisham for a Development and Volunteer coordinator lead. The role entails managing a team of volunteers and Peer mentors to deliver a service to Lewisham residents who are experiencing Drug and/or alcohol use and support Peer mentors to distribute Naloxone to the local community.
They are looking for an innovative and creative person to develop and implement a buddying system and a telephone helpline which will be staffed by a team of volunteers.
They are based in Forest Hill SE23 which is 20 mins from London Bridge mainline station. The contract is for one year (with the possibility of an extension) and they welcome applicants who have lived experience of drugs, alcohol, homelessness or mental health challenges. The role is for 37 hours per week but they are willing to consider part time applicants or a job share.
Skills and Qualifications
· Experienced working in a lead or supervisory role would be beneficial.
· Experience working with IT packages such as Microsoft word and excel.
· Be able to undertake basic administrative tasks.
· Great communication skills are essential.
· Be able to have an empathetic approach when dealing with service users.
