We're looking for an organised and detail-focused Finance Assistant to join our friendly Finance Team. This role is part-time, working 25 hours per week (5 hours per day) based in our office in central Milton Keynes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems and ensuring financial information is accurate. You'll play an important role in processing resident income, maintaining financial records and supporting the smooth running of our finance function.
No two days are quite the same. One day you'll be reconciling accounts and allocating payments, the next you'll be raising invoices, supporting credit control or helping improve our finance processes.

About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Controller, you'll be responsible for ensuring resident income is processed accurately across our finance and housing systems. You'll work closely with colleagues across Finance, Housing and Support to resolve queries and ensure our records remain accurate.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing resident rent and service charge payments
- Allocating and reconciling income across finance systems
- Investigating and resolving payment discrepancies
- Raising sales invoices for conferencing and other income
- Supporting credit control activities
- Managing invoice workflows and finance inbox queries
- Completing cash reconciliations
- Supporting annual audit preparation
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes
About You

The role
As an Assistant Financial Accountant you'll use your positive attitude, your knowledge of financial accounting and reconciliation skills to deliver high quality support to the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and RCN Foundation.
In this varied role every day will be filled with possibilities. You will get involved in anything from balance sheet reconciliations to accounting for investments, providing support to the RCN Foundation and assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts.
We'll look to you to prepare accurate balance sheet reconciliations for the RCN, assist with maintaining the fixed asset register and assist with cashbook posting and reconciliation for membership and events income recorded through CRM. It's a great way to build on your skills and experience and develop your potential.
The person
As well as exceptional customer service, to join us you'll need an in-depth knowledge of accounting, a basic understanding of VAT, and the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial managers.
You'll be studying towards a recognised CCAB qualification with experience of producing balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining fixed asset registers and investigating discrepancies.
Whatever your background, you'll be efficient, accurate and show a real customer focus in all you do.
The ability to encourage close collaboration between various teams within the finance department is key for this role.

The Financial Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the National Theatre's financial records and control environment, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across the organisation.

About the Constitution Society
The Constitution Society is an independent educational foundation founded in 2009.
We promote public understanding of the UK constitution and work to encourage informed debate between legislators, academics and the public about proposals for constitutional change. The Role
We are seeking an organised, proactive and dependable Office Manager to help ensure the smooth running of the Constitution Society. Working closely with the executive team, you will play a central role in the day-to-day administration of the charity. This is a varied position combining office management, executive support, governance administration, financial administration, communications and event management. The successful candidate will be highly organised, comfortable working independently and able to manage a varied workload within a small, friendly organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Office and Operations
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the Society's Westminster office.
- Maintain office systems, filing and organisational records.
- Identify opportunities to improve office procedures and administrative systems.
Executive and Governance Support
- Provide executive support to the Directors, including diary management, meeting scheduling and travel arrangements.
- Assisting in managing Society correspondence and general enquiries.
- Organising trustee meetings, staff meetings and the Annual General Meeting, including preparing and circulating papers and minutes.
- Maintain governance records and organisational policies.
- Assist with Charity Commission and Companies House compliance and statutory filings.
- Monitor governance deadlines and ensure key organisational records remain up to date.
Finance Administration
- Process invoices, expenses and purchase orders.
- Maintain financial records and reconcile routine expenditure.
- Liaise with the Society's accountants and external auditors.
- Support the preparation of budgets and financial reports.
- Administer contractor payments.
- Monitor subscriptions, memberships and regular payments.
Communications and Digital Engagement
- Manage the Society's social media channels, including LinkedIn, YouTube and Bluesky.
- Schedule and publish content promoting the Society's research, publications, events and media appearances.
- Help grow the Society's online audience through engaging digital content.
- Monitor social media performance and prepare basic analytics reports.
- Assist with maintaining the Society's website and email mailing lists.
Events
- Assist with organising seminars, conferences, lectures and receptions.

Person Specification
Essential
- At least two years' experience in an office management, executive assistant, operations or senior administrative role.
- Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience organising meetings, preparing agendas and taking accurate minutes.
- Experience of financial administration, including processing invoices and maintaining financial records.
- Experience managing or contributing to organisational social media accounts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office (particularly Outlook, Word and Excel) and familiarity with cloud-based collaboration tools.
- The ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- The ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Desirable
- Experience working in the charity, education, public policy or not-for-profit sectors.
- Experience supporting trustee boards or senior leadership teams.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead and manage the end-to-end payroll function across a large national organisation. This is a home-based role with occasional travel as required.

The Role
As a Payroll Manager, you will take ownership of the full payroll lifecycle for a workforce of approximately 1,500–2,000+ employees, ensuring an accurate, compliant and timely payroll service.
You will lead a small payroll team, working closely with Finance and HR to ensure strong governance, reporting and continuous improvement across payroll operations.
As a Payroll Manager, you will:
- Lead the delivery of end-to-end payroll processing across monthly cycles
- Ensure payroll is accurate, compliant and delivered on time
- Manage payroll reconciliations, reporting and audit requirements
- Oversee complex payroll elements including statutory payments, deductions and variable pay

About You
Ideally, you will have significant experience managing payroll operations within a medium to large organisation, along with strong leadership and technical expertise.
You will be confident working in a complex, fast-paced environment and able to balance multiple priorities while maintaining high levels of accuracy and compliance.
You will need:
- Proven experience managing payroll for a large workforce (1,000+ employees)
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience leading and developing payroll teams
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working in a controlled or audit-focused environment
- Experience using payroll and HR systems (e.g. IRIS, Cascade or similar)
