We are expanding our research team to ensure that we remain at the forefront of scientific advances and accelerate progress in lymphoma.

Overview
We are a small, global charity with an ambitious mission and growing international reach. As our portfolio expands, we are strengthening our infrastructure, including implementing a robust Grants Management System to support efficient and scalable funding processes. We are seeking an energetic and proactive Grants & Programmes Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of grant-funded programmes and research funding schemes. The role oversees the full grant lifecycle, from call setup and peer review through to award monitoring and close-out, ensuring strong governance, meaningful impact, and operationally deliverable funding proposals.

Role Accountabilities and delegated authority

• Work in alignment with the Foundation’s values and maintain the reputation and standing of the Foundation.
• Ensure confidentiality is always maintained and adhere to General Data Protection Regulations across all areas of work.
• Carry out any other duties within the scope and purpose of the role as requested by their line manager.

Key Responsibilities:
Funding Scheme Delivery

• Develop application forms and applicant guidance.
• Set up and manage funding rounds on the Grants Management System (GMS).
• Coordinate peer review processes and committee meetings.
• Draft minutes, feedback, outcome notifications, and award letters.
• Support grant activation and contracting processes.

Grant & Programme Portfolio Management

• Translate funding agreements into delivery plans, milestones, and timelines.
• Monitor progress, budgets, and reporting schedules.
• Manage grant variations, extensions, and stakeholder queries.
• Work with finance to review claims, invoices, and financial reports.
• Central ownership and coordination of grant governance, compliance, and audit readiness across the funded portfolio.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

• Design and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
• Collect and analyse impact data and produce funder reports.
• Contribute to organisational impact reporting and learning.
• Embed beneficiary or patient voice where appropriate.

Proposal Development Support

• Contribute programme design, delivery plans, and measurable outcomes to proposals.
• Ensure proposals are operationally deliverable and evaluation ready.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Act as a proficient user of the Grants Management System.
• Support system development, implementation, and optimisation.
• Identify and implement workflow improvements.

Cross-Organisational Working

• Provide clear information about awards to internal stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships with applicants, reviewers, and grant holders.
• Support wider team objectives and organisational priorities.

Person Specification
Essential

• Degree-level education (scientific discipline or equivalent experience preferred).
• Experience managing research grants or grant-funded programmes.
• Strong understanding of grant lifecycle processes.
• Experience with monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
• Experience with financial reporting and budget oversight.
• Excellent written communication and organisational skills.
• Strong attention to detail
• Digitally confident, with experience using grants management systems.
• Project management skills to oversee multiple projects, stakeholders and timelines.

Desirable

• Knowledge of medical research funding environments.
• Experience supporting funding proposal development or restricted funding.

Hours of Work:

This is designed as a full-time role, though we are open to discuss a 0.8 FTE position.
Location: UK-based, the expectation is for 1-2 days per week at the Follicular Lymphoma Foundation, 417 Finchley Road, London NW3 6HJ.

Medical Writer
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Part-time – 15 hours per week
Based: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, Hybrid
Salary: £27,500 per annum (pro rata: £11,785 for a 15-hour week)

Do you want to help people understand lymphoma, a complex and varied form of blood cancer? We’re looking for a proactive and organised individual to join our Publications Team. As Medical Writer, you will produce clear information that is up-to-date, accurate and evidence-based. You will need the ability to communicate complex medical information to lay audiences. You will also manage our clinical trials information service, Lymphoma TrialsLink.

Public and Patient Affairs Coordinator

About the Role

This is an exciting time to join us as we develop and invest to do more for people affected by lymphoma and to amplify the patient voice to decision makers. We are now looking for someone to support our Public and Patient Affairs Advisor in this growing area of work for the Charity. This is the perfect role for someone who has:

• Strong administrative and organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• Excellent written skills with great attention to detail.
• Good digital skills and willingness to learn new systems.
• Great team-working skills and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and sensitively.

This is a new and key post to support this work which has grown over the last few years as we have inputted into more projects and had more external requests for patient support. The postholder will help us reach our policy goals to improve early diagnosis, access to treatment and care, patient involvement, and long term quality of life for people affected by lymphoma.

Job Summary for Senior Data Manager

• A senior data leadership role sitting at the heart of the Data & IT function, reporting to the CFO and working in close partnership with the Senior IT Manager — with this role taking lead responsibility for all things data
• Own and lead the charity's data strategy, working collaboratively with senior leadership to shape a forward-looking, insight-driven organisation
• Take full ownership of CRM operations (Raiser's Edge NXT), driving adoption, optimisation and continuous improvement to ensure the charity is truly getting the most from the system — unlocking the data, trends and insight within it

As the Executive Director of Charitable Impact at Bowel Cancer UK, you will play a pivotal role in driving forward our mission: ensuring that everyone with bowel cancer is diagnosed at the earliest stages, receives the best possible care and that more people survive the disease and thrive beyond their diagnosis.

You will lead the charity’s research programmes, policy and influencing, patient services, healthcare professional education, and health information functions. You will ensure these programmes deliver measurable impact on early diagnosis, equity of access, and better outcomes for people with bowel cancer, particularly focusing on reducing health inequalities and addressing the growing incidence of bowel cancer in people under 50.

Working closely with the Strategy & Insight unit, you will embed robust evaluation and evidence into all our work and lead the development of new patient-facing services and digital innovations – including the use of AI – to expand our reach and improve outcomes.

A key focus of our strategy is to reach and engage with as many people as possible, affected by and at risk of bowel cancer, by embedding our information and support services within NHS diagnostic, treatment and care pathways. As Health Professional Education and Engagement Manager you will play a central role in helping us achieve this. With a focus on developing networks in primary care and developing existing relationships with CNS’s and secondary care health professionals, you will work across the UK to understand the needs of these stakeholders and identify ways in which we can support them. Job Summary - Senior Research Officer

We are seeking a confident and organised Senior Research Officer to join our small but ambitious Research Team. This is a hands-on role with real scope to contribute to how we fund and manage research, and to make a genuine difference to a programme that's helping to save lives.
 

The Senior Research Officer will lead the delivery of our grant funding processes from end to end - managing application rounds, overseeing the active portfolio, coordinating our scientific committees, supporting our research events and leading our approach to patient and public involvement in research. Working in a small, specialist team means you'll also have real scope to contribute ideas, help improve how we do things, and play a meaningful part in the development of the research programme beyond the day-to-day.

Interviews will be held on Thursday 16 April.
