Programme Coordinator
The Race Equality Foundation has been awarded a transformative multi-year grant from The National Lottery Community Fund (TNLCF) as part of its Health Inequities: Structural Racism and Discrimination Partnership. The programme will establish three Anti-Racism Collaboratives (ARCs), each bringing together voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations, people with lived experience, health and care organisations, local authorities and other partners to tackle the structural causes of ethnic health inequities through co-production, evidence and collective action.
As Programme Coordinator, you will play a central role in enabling the successful delivery of this ambitious programme. Working closely with the Lead Changemaker, Changemakers and colleagues across the Foundation, you will ensure the programme has the systems, coordination and administrative support needed to deliver high-quality partnership working and meaningful co-production across the three ARCs.

You will be based in our psychosocial team working with adult males (over 18 years old). You need to be committed to supporting people who use our services to make positive changes to prepare them for release into the community, and you will arrange continuity of care. Having experience of supporting people with complex health needs including substance use, you will bring knowledge and commitment to deliver drug and alcohol treatment. Experience of working with drug and alcohol use is essential. Patient support brings together volunteering, complementary therapy, and wider charity patient-facing support into one integrated, site-based team at each of the four main hospital sites. Patient support site managers work closely with NHS site teams to ensure support reflects the clinical needs and demographics of each hospital. Volunteering and therapy roles are embedded locally rather than operating as separate teams, enabling continuity, flexibility, and equitable provision. A small central social rights and benefits team provides targeted, discharge‑focused advice for financially vulnerable patients. Patient support delivered via the charity is designed to be clear, collaborative and patient‑centred, with charity staff working as one team to deliver high‑quality support tailored to each site.

About the Role
This role is primarily based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, with the expectation of occasional travel to other hospital sites.
This post is within the Fundraising Team at University Hospitals Birmingham Charity, which is the official charity of Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital, Solihull Hospital and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
The purpose of the role is to help build relationships with the public and hospital staff within Queen Elizabeth Hospital, as well as with existing supporters.
The role includes proactively going out to meet people to provide information about the work of the Charity and inspiring people to fundraise for the Charity. It also involves spending time on the hospital wards meeting the clinical staff and supporting them with their fundraising efforts to raise money for their wards and departments and to benefit their patients.
