About the role

We have a great opportunity for a Facilities Coordinator to join our small established team to support the work of the charity by ensuring our buildings remain in good repair and ensure an excellent standard of health and safety for our staff and visitors.

You will assist our Estates Manager in the maintenance of Coram’s buildings and grounds. Your responsibilities will include monitoring the work distribution amongst our facilities team, logging and allocating work requests, delivering day to day repairs to our properties and overseeing contractors on site. You will carry out regular checks, maintenance, and scrutiny of all locations at our site. Health and Safety checks and site security will form a regular aspect of the weekly programme

Speaking for Ourselves – The Living History of the Care Experienced Movement @ Coram

Job Title: Care Experienced Engagement Coordinator - Speaking for Ourselves 

Contract – Fixed-Term (Until the end of June 2029)

Hours - 28 hours per week (Monday to Friday with occasional evening/ weekend work)

Salary - £28,800 pro rata (£36,000 FTE)

Location – Coram Campus, 41 Brunswick Square, London WC1N 1AZ. (with national travel as required)

Speaking for Ourselves is an exciting new programme funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund that will collect and share the history of the care-experienced campaigning movement since the 1970s. It was conceived within the care-experienced community, emerging from long-standing discussions about how poorly the history of the care-experienced campaigning movement has been recorded—and how easily its achievements risk being forgotten.

This important programme puts the voice of people with lived experience of care at the centre. The Speaking for Ourselves programme delivered by Coram is guided by a majority care-experienced Programme Board and aims to work with the wider care experienced community. The Programme Board has an advisory and representative role, to guide the successful delivery of the programme and make key decisions that shape its impact.

Speaking for Ourselves will:

• Engage care-experienced communities through workshops, open submissions, commissions, partnerships, and outreach

• Collect, record, and digitise documents, photographs, letters, publications, and objects
• Conduct personal history interviews with people involved in campaigns and efforts for change
• Commission written pieces to fill gaps in the historical record
• Create a permanent digital archive
• Produce podcasts, a moveable display, a school’s module, and a toolkit for Children in Care Councils
• Deliver three national events (one per year)
• Build a lasting resource for policymakers, educators, researchers, and future campaigners

About the role

The Care Experienced Engagement Coordinator role presents a unique opportunity to work directly with the care experienced community to bring to life this untold history. The role will hold primary responsibility for the engagement with the community, and care experienced individuals and allies including outreach, liaison and ongoing relationship management. Along with the team they will need to ensure the programme is delivered sensitively and embed a trauma informed approach.

We are looking for a person who has direct experience of successfully working with diverse groups of people with lived experience of the care system – personally or professionally, along with experience of working with young people and adults to develop and deliver projects preferably in a heritage / creative context.

The post holder will report to the Programme Manager, and will be responsible for working with them, the team, the Programme Board and Coram to deliver the programme.

The Societies Development Manager is a vital role within the Student Activities team, providing accurate, consistent and innovative support to the student volunteers running over 300 societies. This role will support the delivery of a variety of student led events and activities, empowering and enabling student leaders. This role will put students’ experience at the forefront of everything we do, focusing on providing excellent management of stakeholder relationships, problem solving and risk management with student activities. The Societies Development Manager will work collaboratively across the Student Experience directorate to empower student leaders to run impactful activities for their peers - removing barriers to engagement wherever you find them. They will be responsible for leading major events across the Union and project managing key cross-departmental initiatives such as our annual awards celebrations. The successful postholder will be there to expand our programmes, fostering vibrant and inclusive communities and ensuring all students can access the amazing opportunities extra-curricular opportunities available to them no matter what their level of experience.

About the role

This exciting role will be responsible for the creation of the physical and digital Archive of the Care-Experienced Campaigning Movement and work closely with the team to support the extensive use of archive materials and stories to support the creative audio elements of the programme. We are looking for an experienced and creative archivist with a keen interest in social history and experience of working on physical and digital archive projects, preferably including digitalisation/oral history to lead on this unique area of work.

The post holder will report to the Programme Manager, and will work with the programme team, Programme Board and Coram. The role will liaise closely with Coram’s Executive Office and external partners including the London Archives.

About the role 
We are excited to be recruiting a University Events Officer to join The Scholars Programme team. 
This role will be central in ensuring that we consistently deliver exceptional programme events for students across the UK by working closely with our university partners.
The University Events Officer will help ensure that online, in-school and on-campus events are designed and delivered to a high standard, and provide a rich, sector-leading experience to students aged 9-17. The University Events Officer will confidently build and maintain event planning relationships with a wide range of university stakeholders. They will work directly with colleagues in the Scholars Programme team and collaborate closely with other teams in the 
charity, leading on a number of internal processes.
They will be up to date with the widening access and participation agenda and familiar with the challenges and opportunities facing the UK higher education sector.   
The role requires a highly organised and detail-oriented professional who will champion the charity’s values, support the whole team, and proactively find ways to improve what we do. 
This role will involve some travel across the UK to support the planning and delivery of events at our different university partners. 
While this role can be based at either our Leeds or London office, some travel will be required (mainly to London) for events and to attend in-person meetings. 

About you 

The role will best suit someone who:

• Has experience of managing events, digitally and in person 
• Has knowledge of the Higher Education sector in the UK, in particular the access and participation agendas 
• Has experience working with or within Higher Education institutions to deliver widening participation activities
• Has experience managing multiple stakeholder relationships
• Has demonstrable session design and delivery skills, including for pupils and adults, and is confident using digital systems for event delivery
• Is capable of adapting quickly to new systems and interfaces 
• Has excellent knowledge and confidence using Office 365 applications and different IT platforms including CRM systems 
• Essential – adheres to information security policies included in the charity’s ISO 27001 manual and complete information security training
