We are seeking a Governance and EDI Officer, on an 12-month Fixed Term Contract, to support the Governance and EDI team.
The Governance and EDI Officer will work closely with Trustees, the Senior Leadership Team, and other key stakeholders (both internal and external) to help deliver the calendar of governance committee, board and panel meetings ensuring adherence to pre-defined service standards and ensuring that all discussions, decisions and follow-on actions are recorded, communicated and actioned as appropriate, alongside supporting team members with EDI initiatives, including the Society’s EDI Community, the 2026 online EDI Symposium, Society involvement in the 2027 Minoritised Life Scientists Future Forum and organisational mentoring schemes.
The post-holder will support with administration and management for various Committees by compiling and preparing agendas and associated papers before each meeting, preparing Chair Notes and producing accurate minutes of meeting within the agreed timelines. You will also act as a liaison between the Society/PPL and Committee members on practical and logistical matters, such as supporting with expenses, as required.
The role will provide administrative support for the Nominations process and success planning, including Committee Chair, Trustee and Director inductions, along with drafting and reviewing policy documents and terms of reference. In addition, providing support on EDI initiatives with the wider team on the EDI Toolkit management.
Suitable candidates will have experience in Committee work, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders. The successful candidate will also be able to present information in a concise report format, with strong attention to detail, while being able to work flexibly to manage competing demands as required.

The service handles enquiries from people seeking support for a range of issues including welfare benefits, housing and homelessness, advocacy, family support, immigration, disability and legal advice in addition to accessing our in-house one-to-one mental health support offering, workshops/groups, culturally specific counselling, or housing/benefits specialists.
As an IAG Facilitator, your responsibilities include but are not limited to;
- Covering the Helpline

As one of two IAG Facilitators, you’ll support volunteers to ensure that the service is running efficiently. Applicants should have experience of providing advice in benefits and housing, managing a diverse caseload and providing advocacy, and possess effective communication skills. An ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative is essential for this role.

Your role
Leading the delivery and development of the Contact Ealing project within budget, the role oversees and line‑manages the Family Worker team while coordinating all project activity and shaping the annual work programme. It involves working directly with families of disabled children across Ealing—particularly those from BAME and East European communities—by providing information, facilitating support groups, and creating opportunities for connection. The role also maintains strong partnerships with key organisations including Dormers Wells Children’s Centre, LBE, Ealing Advice Service, Ealing Anchor, Southall Connect, EPCF, SENDIASS and others, ensuring collaborative service delivery. HelpAge International is seeking to diversify and grow philanthropic income from trusts and foundations from the US philanthropic markets.
An initial prospect mapping exercise is currently being undertaken by an external consultant, identifying a broad range of potential trusts, foundations, and philanthropic opportunities. HelpAge aims to build on this work through a short-term assignment that combines prospect qualification with active donor outreach and engagement to assess the level of market interest and develop a robust pipeline for future cultivation.
The assignment will also support the organisation in assessing the value of different funding intelligence platforms through the use of free trial subscriptions.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced trusts and grants fundraiser to lead the Charity's trusts, grants and foundations strategy. The role aims to secure multi-year four, five and six-figure grants and build a reliable, sustainable income stream. Reporting to the Fundraising Lead, you'll develop and manage a robust pipeline end-to-end (research, cultivation, application, reporting and renewal), write compelling cases for support and tailored proposals, and work closely with service delivery and finance colleagues to shape fundable projects with clear, measurable outcomes.
