About the role

The successful candidate will lead policy work and be responsible for managing one Policy Officer. Role specifics
As Policy Officer for Shelter, you’ll drive our strategic campaigning on social housing, working closely with teams across research, campaigns, public affairs, and media to develop impactful, evidence-based policy and campaigns. You’ll identify emerging issues, lead policy development, and produce high-quality analysis and responses to influence government and public debate. You’ll build strong relationships with key stakeholders, represent Shelter externally, and line manage 1-2 Policy Officers, supporting their development and workload. You’ll also deputise for senior leaders when needed and play a key role in embedding our Anti-Racism Strategy and equalities across the team and campaigns.

The team is 7 people strong and sits in the Advocacy and Activism branch of the Communications, Policy, and Campaigns division. The Activism and Advocacy branch includes the Research, Public Affairs, Digital Campaigns and Community Organising teams. Using the latest data, research and intelligence from our services, we analyse the problems in our housing system and identify effective and creative solutions. We are campaigners focused on winning change for people, and we work in multidisciplinary teams like media, public affairs, campaigns and research to develop creative and hard-hitting campaigns. We support our services to identify and campaign for local solutions and lend expertise to our Community Organisers who support communities to fight for change in their area. Our work is grounded in the experience of the people who use Shelter’s services every day and is based on expert research. The Team combines works at a national and local level to tackle the root causes of the housing emergency and fight for home.

About this exciting opportunity
As Women’s Wellbeing Coach, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users, who will be female adults aged 18 years and above on remand and unsentenced within Cambridgeshire. This role will involve completing Trauma Informed assessments and developing, in collaboration with each service user, action plans which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved.
We will also rely on you to create a safe and trusting environment, using trauma informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users and to deliver a range of interventions which contribute towards achieving pre-determined targets. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with external agencies and working towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales are both essential aspects of the role, as is providing updates and reports, where required, using a range of formats.
What we are looking for
- Proven ability and experience as a caseworker delivering gender specific and trauma responsive interventions which support resettlement and rehabilitation of female adults in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons.
- Experience of working with young adults and supporting them to achieve positive outcomes.
- Experience of engaging successfully with challenging people, for example people who have complex needs, people who are reluctant to discuss their needs, and people who are angry and confused Experience in delivery of 1:1 and group coaching solutions, including preparation and delivery of skills and learning.
- Experience in working with partner agencies either as part of a multi-agency team working towards common objectives or negotiating to establish links to further the aims of a project.

Job Purpose
As part of GoodGym's Operations Support Team, you will play a key role in coordinating volunteers to provide practical and social support for older people across the UK.
The crucial part of this role will involve supporting volunteers and beneficiaries throughout processing and confirming mission requests for practical tasks and monitoring and supporting befriending pairings.
You will also work as part of project teams making changes to improve our processes. And you will collaborate with and support colleagues across the organisation.

- Providing phone and email support to our members, referrers and beneficiaries

The role of Team Leader is essential to the day-to-day management of the Hub and, in particular, to support and oversee the new Housing First Service for South Tyneside. Ensuring we deliver a high quality service, we will rely on you to lead and supervise the staff and volunteer team to deliver support to up to 14 people at a time in line with the Homeless Link Housing First Principles. Supporting the Hub’s strategic lead and management team to deliver our strategy locally will be important too, using local data, activism and representations to decision makers to bring about positive change for the people of the North East. You will do all you can to ensure we provide an excellent quality service that meets the needs of those who need our help and that everyone has access to a safe and affordable home.
About you
You will need experience of working with people experiencing exclusion and multiple disadvantage and in a multi-disciplinary context with partners, community groups and other agencies. You have demonstrable experience of staff and service management, casework support, risk management, supervision and safeguarding, as well as delivering and managing support projects and/or contracts. If you have experience of Housing First and mobilising contracts this would be an advantage but is not essential.

Shelter North East has been supporting people in the region for over 25 years and provides advice over 12 local authorities. We are made up of an advice team, legal team as well as support services which include Housing First and DIY skills service, as well as an administration team. National staff based in the hub include a Community Fundraiser and Community Organiser, Lived Experience Officer and Business Development Manager.
We aim to bring about systemic change through our work with clients, training for our partners and volunteers and using evidence to bring about housing procedural and policy changes for people in the North East.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Your responsibilities will include
- Project management of the priority, delivery, and budgets of the School Condition Allocation (SCA) projects from inception to end of defects.
- Project management and supporting the management of the condition and maintenance of the school estate, including the asset management processes
- Project management of the capital elements of academy conversion projects
- Planning, implementation, procurement, and delivery of a high-quality service in relation to all estate and projects work
- Managing and monitoring external technical advisors, and third party suppliers and consultants employed directly by Harris Federation
- Managing H&health and safety through the lifecycle of all projects
- Managing the consultations, admissions, branding, marketing, FF&E and uniform of all new schools
- Providing professional services to the individual schools and ensuring the Federation complies with relevant property legislation, regulations and guidance
- Assisting with the development of policies and procedures concerning the Harris Federation estate
- Assisting with the framework for all estates related statutory elements, including oversight of the implementation and reporting of audits

This is a key role within a small and busy finance team. Job Description
Purchase and payments
- Ensure all invoices, expenses and credit notes received are processed following the agreed systems and controls.
- Process invoices and expenses into the accounting system.
- Creation of twice weekly and ad-hoc pay runs.
- Process and pay file generated into the bank software.
- Produce and send out remittances.

- Support the Finance Manager with weekly payroll administration, for example communications with staff members regarding timesheets and new starter information.

Care Review), provision of written or verbal information, supportive

experience of support feels seamless and is transparent, including
support from partner agencies.
What you do
Delivery of information and support to people living with and beyond cancer
and their families
• Provide information and support within level of competence of the post
(Macmillan Levels of Intervention Criteria L1,2,3,4; NICE approved four tier
model of psychological support Level 1, 2 & 3).
• This will include:
• Assess the needs of individuals attending / contacting the service and
identify the required level of intervention.
• Support users sensitively to help them understand clinical information
they have been given (e.g. around diagnosis, treatment, effects of the
illness and treatment, cancer terminology), helping to resolve situations
where users feel they have been given conflicting information. This will
include addressing concerns and queries and working to resolve them and
the ability to recognise and work within the limits of own competence and
responsibility is crucial, referring issues beyond these limits to relevant
people.
• Understand that there will be frequent exposure to distressing/ highly
distressing situations and deal with difficult and highly emotive situations
in a sensitive manner and base decisions on own professional judgement.
• Deal with service users with complex enquiries or support needs, or who
need help in accessing or understanding information, referring to
appropriate members of the wider clinical team (CNS, oncologist) when
appropriate or signpost them to other supportive services.
• Liaise with clinical staff to support patients and carers in distress.
• Demonstrate a high level of skill acquired through relevant training or
equivalent experience whilst demonstrating awareness of the limits of own

(HCP), Cancer Information and Support Advisors, Head of Cancer Support

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of effective relationships
with partner organisations in primary and secondary and the voluntary the
sector via networking, also giving talks and presenting at relevant groups.
• Plan and deliver ‘pop-up’ information clinics, ensuring these pop-up clinics

Job purpose:
Working closely with our lawyers you will have a hands-on role in supporting Friends of the Earth’s campaigns. You will join meetings, conduct research, help to prepare legal documents, participate in our campaigning in action, and get to know what makes a campaigning environmental NGO tick.
Possessing a degree in Law or equivalent qualification (i.e. law conversion course or joint law degree) with a 2:1 grade or above, you will have good knowledge of public, assimilated EU law, human rights, environmental and/or planning law and will have experience of undertaking detailed legal research and analysis.
This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain entry-level legal experience and skills in a campaigning context.

Location: Hybrid – working from home, with at least 1 day a month working in London.
Contract: Full-time (35 hours per week).
Salary: £25,000 per annum
We’re looking for two enthusiastic, ambitious and organised individuals to join our team as Assistants, each supporting a different area of the charity. One role will provide high-level support to our Chief Executive Officer (CEO), while the other will focus on helping our Communications and Helpline team deliver their vital services. About the roles
Executive Assistant
This role will support the smooth day-to-day functioning of the CEO’s office, helping manage key processes, communications, and external relations. You’ll be central to diary coordination, board support, stakeholder liaison, and financial administration, contributing to strong governance and strategic delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
· Managing the CEO’s diary, inbox, travel and meeting logistics
· Preparing board papers, agendas, minutes, and reports
· Liaising with stakeholders and trustees
· Supporting advocacy and public affairs activity (e.g. parliamentary events)
· Helping with financial admin tasks such as raising invoices and supplier forms
· Providing wider administrative support to the senior leadership team as needed
This role would suit someone confident in managing sensitive information, working to tight deadlines, and liaising with senior contacts across the charity and beyond.
Communications & Helpline Assistant
This varied and rewarding role provides hands-on support to our helpline and external communications work. You’ll be helping our volunteers offer accurate and empathetic support to the public while also assisting with digital content, social media and outreach campaigns.
Key responsibilities include:
· Supporting helpline volunteer coordination, training and performance
· Helping develop and maintain helpline resources and records
· Creating and publishing content for our social media and website
· Supporting email marketing, digital analytics, and campaign promotion
· Assisting with press releases, stakeholder communications and events
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, has strong communication skills, and an interest in digital content and community engagement.
What we’re looking for (both roles)
· Excellent organisational, administrative and multitasking skills
· Demonstrable experience in a similar job
· Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
· A friendly, proactive, can-do attitude and attention to detail
· Confidence using IT systems, including MS Office and databases
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team
· Discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information
The following is also highly desirable - experience in a charity setting, knowledge of dyslexia/neurodiversity, and familiarity with tools like Xero, Canva, or WordPress (depending on the role).

A well-established Housing Association in East London is looking to take on a Rent and Service Charge Accountant for an initial 12 Month FTC. This association has a big impact in its community and creates an inspiring, inclusive place to work.
They are looking to bring someone into their collaborative team who comes from a housing association or property background with experience in both Rent and Service Charges (mainly Service Charges). This role is an interesting balance of Business as Usual and project work as they look to automate their processes and move from excel.
Responsibilities:
- To lead on end-to-end processes, including estimates, actuals and liaising with auditors
- Support on year-end service charge and rent calculations and speak to customers about their queries
- Assist in moving from excel based work to using a Service Charge Module and helping with the integration
- Managing a Service Charge Assistant and helping them improve performance
Requirements:
- Rent and Service Charge candidate, ideally from a Housing Association background
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Happy with day-to-day work and willing to get involved with the project to help automate and streamline their processes
- Good excel and system skills
