Events and Community Coordinator - Remote (UK based) – 0.8FTE

• Salary: £30,000 for 0.8 FTE (£37,500 FTE equivalent) + 5% pension + 25 days holiday
• Location: Remote (must be UK-based), with occasional travel for events

The Engineers and Scientists in Business Fellowship (ESBF) is a UK charity with a clear mission: to champion the impact of business education for engineers and scientists. 

Through our flagship Sainsbury Management Fellows programme, we award £50,000 MBA scholarships to outstanding individuals, supporting them to study at leading global business schools. Our Fellows go on to lead organisations, build companies, and drive innovation across sectors. 

We also support entrepreneurship across more than 50 UK universities by sponsoring enterprise competitions for engineering and science students, helping them develop entrepreneurial skills early and turn ideas into ventures with real-world potential. 

Founded by Lord David Sainsbury and delivered in partnership with the Royal Academy of Engineering and the National Physical Laboratory, our work sits at the intersection of science, business, and leadership. 

The Role

This is a role for someone who enjoys making things happen and bringing people together. 

As our Events and Community Coordinator, you will deliver a high-quality events programme while building strong, lasting relationships across a network of 400+ Fellows. You will play a central role in shaping how our community connects, contributes, and grows. 

You will also lead on our CRM system, helping us use data more effectively to strengthen engagement and support alumni philanthropy. 

Working in a small, collaborative team, you will have real scope to shape the role, particularly as we build towards our 40th anniversary in 2027. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Plan and deliver a programme of high-quality events, including our flagship events and events with partner organisations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Fellows, supporting an active alumni community.
• Coordinate engagement initiatives, including networks and special interest groups.
• Manage and develop the CRM system to support engagement and fundraising.
• Contribute to the smooth running of the organisation as part of a small team. 

About You 

You are organised, proactive, and people-focused, with a natural ability to build relationships and keep multiple priorities moving. 

You will bring experience in events delivery and community or stakeholder engagement, along with strong communication skills and attention to detail. Experience managing CRM systems is important and previous experience in higher education, charity, fellowship or scholarship management would be a bonus.

Role Summary

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Development Co-ordinator to support and strengthen our fundraising and membership function. This role is ideal for a self-starter who excels at administration, enjoys creating efficient processes, and is confident managing projects and working collaboratively across teams.

As Development Coordinator, you’ll be the lynchpin of a friendly, ambitious team at a brilliant arts charity, underpinning and powering our development activity so it can thrive and grow.

You will coordinate multiple fundraising activities, ensuring projects are well planned, timelines are met, and stakeholders are supported with clear information and robust systems.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising Administration & Coordination

• Provide high-quality administrative and coordination support to fundraising activity across multiple income streams
• Coordinate meetings, actions, and follow-ups for fundraising projects
• Support the planning and delivery of fundraising events

Project Management

• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and task trackers
• Monitor progress against milestones, proactively identifying risks or delays
• Coordinate input from multiple teams to ensure projects stay on track and deadlines are met
• Ensure clear communication, documentation, and handovers throughout project lifecycles

Process Improvement & Systems

• Review and develop efficient administrative and project management processes
• Identify opportunities to streamline systems, reporting, and data management

Cross-Team Collaboration

• Work confidently with colleagues across teams (e.g. finance, communications, engagement) to deliver fundraising activity
• Act as a central point of coordination for shared fundraising activities
• Support collaborative planning and ensure alignment between teams

Reporting & Compliance

• Track income, budgets, and project progress in collaboration with finance colleagues
• Produce regular reports on fundraising performance and project status

Ensure compliance with internal policies, fundraising regulations, and data protection requirements

Core Skills

Essential

• Strong administrative and organisational skills, with experience coordinating projects or complex activities
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
• A proactive self-starter who takes ownership and follows through
• Experience developing or improving processes and systems
• Confidence working with multiple teams and stakeholders

• Strong IT skills, including databases, spreadsheets, and project tracking tools

While our programmes vary, they share one common thread: an unwavering resolve to see lives transformed for good. Mobilising over 200 churches and 1,500 volunteers, TLG’s volunteer programmes – Early Intervention and Make Lunch – currently support around 5,000 children and their families each year. However, our vision goes further: we aim to see many more churches partner with us to transform lives in their communities.

This Role’s Impact:

We are seeking an experienced, relational, and highly organised leader with a strong passion for the issues of mental health, poverty, and social justice that underpin Make Lunch. Working alongside other Church Relationship Leads, this role will train, support, and develop church-based volunteer Make Lunch teams, ensuring they provide effective support and meaningful connection to children, young people, and families in their communities.

With excellent people, communication and training skills, the postholder will nurture positive, growing relationships with volunteer Make Lunch Coordinators, enabling excellent programme leadership at a local level. Operationally astute and confident in bringing constructive challenge, they will ensure all Make Lunch activities are safe and fully compliant. Driven by a commitment to continuous improvement, they will foster a growth mindset among those they support, maximising the impact of Make Lunch both locally and nationally.

We’re looking for a methodical and strategic Programme Manager (Award) to manage the end-to-end delivery of University Mental Health Charter (UMHC) Award and act as key spokesperson for the programme. 

You’ll play a vital role in ensuring that the Award upholds its standards and values, and continues to develop and scale, supporting positive change for staff and students at universities across the UK.

About the role

• Lead the delivery of the nationally-recognised accreditation for mental health in higher education: the University Mental Health Charter Award.
• The UMHC Award recognises universities that promote the mental health and wellbeing of their university communities and supports them to continually improve. 
• You will own the end-to-end management of a complex, high-profile and impactful programme, balancing administrative excellence and strategic development.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the Award lifecycle, from onboarding universities, coordinating our network of assessors and managing the Award panel.
• Scale and continually improve the Award process, ensuring it remains rigorous, impactful and values-led.
• Act as key spokesperson and point of contact for universities and other stakeholders.
• Responsible for budget, risk and line management.
