Permanent and full-time role
Salary: Band 5 range of £51,250 - £60,250 pa
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in the UK - stealing over 12,000 of our dads, grandads, brothers and friends every year.
As the largest men’s health charity in the UK, our ambition is clear: to create a world where no man dies from prostate cancer. And this is how we’re making that happen. And we work tirelessly to spread the word about risk and offer specialist support to people living with the disease.
This is an exciting and pivotal moment for high value fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK. Through our £100 million Raise the Game appeal, we are accelerating our progress over the next 5 years, to transform how men and their families navigate prostate cancer. We are now seeking a Senior Philanthropy Manager to be at the heart of this mission – securing and stewarding major gifts that will directly fund life-saving research, drive innovation, and ensure more men receive the right treatment at the right time. You will develop and lead on major donor fundraising, working with some of our most influential supporters to unlock gifts that drive real change. You will also motivate and support a small team of fundraisers, and help them to successfully cultivate their portfolios.
About you
You will be a highly collaborative major gifts fundraiser with a strong track record of developing and securing high-five-figure and six figure gifts. Experience in health or medical fundraising would be valuable, but not essential. What is essential is your ability to interpret complex, specialist information into compelling funding propositions. Underpinning all of this is your passion for driving positive change and your belief in the power of philanthropy to make a meaningful difference.

You'll be able to write and develop high-quality proposals and manage complex budgets. Your relationship management skills will be exceptional, and you'll know how to convey HHC's mission compellingly to a wide range of senior audiences.
You'll be collaborative and culturally empathetic, comfortable working across teams, and equally at ease leading face-to-face cultivation as you are driving prospect research and pipeline development. Most importantly, you'll share our conviction that every child belongs in a family, and understand that every partnership you build and every proposal you win brings us closer to consigning orphanages to history.
About Hope and Homes for Children
Orphanages don't protect children, they harm them. The last thing an orphanage can provide is the first thing a child needs: someone to love them. Decades of evidence shows that the bond between a child and their family is vital for their development, and that orphanages subject children to high levels of abuse and neglect.
Today, over 5.4 million children are confined to orphanages worldwide, and more than 80% of them are not orphans at all. Children belong in families. They need protection, encouragement, play, laughter and love: somewhere to call home and someone to love them. You can help us make this a reality for children.
