Main responsibilities and duties

Community Engagement & Co-Design

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with Braunstone residents, community groups, local businesses and grassroots organisations
• Facilitate conversations, workshops, and engagement activities to co-design services and projects to ensure community voices and lived experience meaningfully inform service development and delivery
• Act as a visible and approachable presence within the community
• Promote inclusive, accessible, and trauma-informed engagement practices
• Gather community feedback and insight to inform service improvement, contribute to monitoring, learning, and evaluation activities
• Reflect on practice and adapt approaches in response to community needs

Volunteer Engagement & Support

• Recruit, induct, coordinate training and support volunteers, with a focus on local community involvement, including support to deliver b inspired services
• Acting as a key point of contact for volunteers, develop clear, meaningful volunteer roles aligned with community and organisational needs
• Foster a positive, inclusive volunteer culture that values contribution and wellbeing

Partnerships, Networking & Community Presence

• Build and maintain relationships with local organisations, businesses, networks, and stakeholders, including representing the organisation at community meetings, events, and forums
• Strengthen local connections to improve service reach and impact by identifying opportunities for collaboration and shared learning

Communications & Community Storytelling

• Support delivery of the organisation’s communications plans including engagement with digital platforms with a focus on community engagement and impact to strengthen community connection and awareness
• Create and source digital content (e.g. short written pieces, photos, videos, social media content) that showcases community-led work and lived experience, ensuring content is inclusive, ethical, and reflective of organisational values

Project Support & Community-Led Fundraising

• Support small-scale, project-specific fundraising activities that emerge from community-led initiatives, working alongside colleagues and community members to help shape funding ideas where needed

 General Duties:

•  Attend and participate in team meetings, training and events that ensure the effective sharing of information and co-ordination with the team’s activities.
• Undertake administrative and maintenance duties that assist in the smooth running of the Neighbourhood Support Base. This will include taking collective responsibility in relation to matters of health and safety, equipment maintenance, data protection and confidentiality management, and visitor service and care.
• Ensure that all NST activities are undertaken in line with the legal requirements and b inspired policy, procedures and good practice. This includes the production of risk assessments and other data that can demonstrate effective and safe planning.
• Undertake consultations in-line with the Neighbourhood Action Plan and work alongside other members of the NST to gather, collate and analyse information that inform perceived local need/s.
• Work outside normal office hours and at weekends as and when required.
• To ensure promotion and implementation of The Braunstone Foundation’s policies in relation to Equalities; to ensure that buildings, equipment and facilities are managed in a safe and effective way in line with Health and safety requirements.

This is a great opportunity to support local communities, working with Adult Carers and Young Adult Carers and helping them to make informed choices, build confidence, sustain their independence, and access support that meets their individual needs. You will carry out assessments to understand people’s individual circumstances and level of need, working together to co-produce support plans. This will involve meeting Carers in community settings and conducting home visits. The team also facilities coffee mornings and activities offering Carers opportunities for peer support and to take a break from caring.

You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will support the development of escalation plans so that Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.

We have a part-time roles available (22.5 hours), and applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Carers and/or vulnerable adults in a relevant sector. It’s essential that you are confident using IT and maintaining excellent records. Project Coordinator (Boys’ Development Team)

As a Project Coordinator you will be responsible for delivering a range of services in primary and secondary schools, supporting FM development and transitional work with boys and young men. The post holder will support the Head of Programme (Boys’ Development Team) with formulating a strategy for developing this work across localities, in line with FM’s vision, mission and values and business plan. A key element will be to support new developments, identify best practice in conflict management work and embed these in current services.

Key Responsibilities

This role will focus on engaging fathers who may be less likely to access traditional services, including through outreach, hospital-based engagement, family hub delivery, one-to-one support and home visiting. You will need to be flexible, relational and practical, with the ability to work some evenings or weekends to reach fathers at the right time.

We’re recruiting an Events Coordinator to help run our city-centre climate action hub, called Imagine Leeds. Imagine Leeds is an innovative venue where people come together to plan and take action on climate, nature and social justice. It is part of the Climate Action Leeds Network, which was established in 2020.

This post is part of a three-year funding package of £493,000 to support community climate action in Leeds. The funding comes from the National Lottery, Leeds Community Foundation, Bunzl, the University of Leeds and North Star Coffee Roasters. Climate Action Leeds is run by a partnership made up of Voluntary Action Leeds and Leeds Love It Share It CIC.

We are looking for a hard working person who is experienced in organising and delivering events, so we can run an engaging series of events on topics relating to sustainability and social justice.

The successful candidate will help coordinate the day to day activities at Imagine Leeds. The venue provides space for events, meetings, co-working, exhibitions and networking. The successful candidate will contribute to the effective running of this well-loved venue, ensuring that it can continue to serve Leeds’ vibrant community of changemakers and facilitate engagement with thousands of people across the city.

Key outcomes for this role are:

• Bringing together a range of people and organisations to contribute to our mission imagining (and then creating) a more sustainable Leeds, that is zero carbon, nature friendly and socially just. 

  • Organising a minimum of 1 event each month, attracting at least 20 attendees.

• Contributing to the smooth and professional running of Imagine Leeds to help build its reputation as a valuable institution for the city.

• Supporting the mission to find a permanent home for Imagine Leeds.

Duties and responsibilities

In the course of their duties, this post will require joint working with other members of the Imagine Leeds team. Duties may change as the post and programme progresses. Any changes will be discussed with the postholder. 

• Events organising

  • Organising regular events at Imagine Leeds to bring people together to discuss the future of the city.

  • Facilitating events in a way that encourages everyone to feel safe, welcome, and able to take part effectively.

  • Widening participation so that people from a variety of backgrounds are able to get involved in Imagine Leeds events.

• Communications and displays

  • Promoting Imagine Leeds and its events through a variety of communications channels including websites, mailing lists, social media, posters and leaflets.

  • Contributing to the design and production of displays that help people understand how the city works today, and imagine a more sustainable future.

• Venue support and evaluation

  • Supporting people using Imagine Leeds for their meetings and events, including tech setup, accessibility and inclusion, and opening and closing the venue.

  • Ensure ongoing monitoring and evaluation of Imagine Leeds and its users’ activities in the venue.

• Facilities and operations

  • Helping to take care of Imagine Leeds to ensure the venue has a professional look and feel, including tidying and cleaning, and offers a supportive environment for space users.

  • Sharing responsibility for the security of Imagine Leeds, including its equipment, stock and facilities.

  • Helping to improve the systems and processes used at Imagine Leeds, to ensure smooth operation and satisfaction of key stakeholders, regular users and visitors.

• General support and duties

  • Attending team meetings, Imagine Leeds Steering Group meetings and programme-wide meetings and events.

  • Providing information about Imagine Leeds for reports and funding bids.

  • All team members are expected to: 

    • work within and promote the aims and objectives of Leeds Love It Share It CIC, Imagine Leeds and Climate Action Leeds, and present a positive image to the public and other partners.

    • work within the Equal Opportunities framework and promote and support equality, diversity and inclusion within their work.

    • work within our environmental and other policies at all times.

    • take responsibility for their own safety, and ensure that colleagues and visitors are not exposed to danger.

  • Team members may be provided with training to support them in their work, to better deliver key tasks and to aid professional development.

  • Some evening and weekend working may be required.
