Role Overview

The Trainer is responsible for creating and delivering high-quality training and development programmes for unpaid carers, professionals in the Education, Health & Social care sectors, and for corporate partners. This role is key to empowering carers with knowledge about their rights, and upskilling professionals and businesses to better support carers. The Trainer will also facilitate 'train the trainer' sessions to build capacity and extend the reach of the service's educational mission.

Person Specification

• Proven experience in designing and delivering training to adult learners
• Experience in developing inclusive and accessible training materials for diverse audiences
• Experience in evaluating training effectiveness and adapting approaches based on feedback and outcomes.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and training methodologies.
• Sound knowledge of safeguarding principles and procedures, with the ability to embed these into training content.
• Awareness of barriers faced by unpaid carers and the importance of inclusive practice in community engagement.
• Excellent presentation, facilitation, and group management skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
• Competence in creating engaging and accessible training resources using digital tools and formats.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of health and safety procedures
• Ability to proactively identify and manage risks to ensure a safe environment for all participants
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• A formal training qualification (e.g., PTLLS/AET) or a commitment to achieve this within the first 6 months of employment.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

We are looking for a committed Fundraiser who will help strengthen and grow this work. This role offers the chance to make a direct impact on the lives of young people while supporting the future sustainability of a purposeful organisation.

About the role
You will play a central part in generating the income needed for Ursuline Links to meet its annual and long term goals. Working closely with the Chair of Trustees and the Director, you will shape our fundraising strategy, build donor relationships and secure essential funding from a variety of organisations.

This is a mainly remote role with around one in person meeting each month in East London.

What you will do

• Develop a fundraising strategy in collaboration with the Chair of Trustees and the Director
• Prepare and submit high quality funding applications
• Build strong relationships with grant making organisations and respond to enquiries
• Attend occasional fundraising events and conferences when required
• Track and analyse fundraising progress and report to trustees twice yearly
• Work with the Director of the Ursuline Education Community charity to support fundraising for the virtues programme

What you will bring

• A good level of charity fundraising experience
• A genuine desire to support the volunteer work of young people
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet fundraising targets

• Demonstrable experience in a partnerships, community engagement, or outreach role.

The Details

• We have two part-time roles available – both are fixed term (12 months)
• 27 hours per week worked across four or five days (0.75 FTE)

The Secondary Coordinator is responsible for delivering a consistent and accessible programme for young carers aged 12-16. Based in a specific quadrant of Surrey, the coordinator will plan and lead a repeating schedule of evening youth clubs, weekend socials, and holiday activities which may include residential activities. This role is key to providing regular respite, reducing isolation, and building a strong peer support network for teenage carers.

Person Specification

• Experience working directly with children and young people, particularly those facing challenges or with caring responsibilities.
• Proven track record of building trusted relationships with young people and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience of working in or with secondary schools, including understanding school systems and pastoral support structures.
• Experience of multi-agency working, including liaising with education, health, and social care professionals.
• Experience in planning and delivering group activities, workshops, or 1:1 support sessions for young people.
• Understanding of the issues affecting young carers, including the impact of caring responsibilities on education, wellbeing, and social development.
