Senior Business Support Officer
Finance & Operations | Remote (UK-based)
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week)
Location: Home-based with occasional paid travel to London
Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 30 June 2028 (with potential for extension)

About the Role

Join us at the Royal College of Radiologists where you’ll lead expert teams in assessing radiology services across the UK from independent clinics to major NHS trusts delivering evidence-based evaluations that spark real, lasting improvement.
The Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI) defines what’s needed to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred imaging services. The QSI supports imaging providers in embedding a culture of continuous quality improvement and achieving excellence.
As a Quality Review Partner, you’ll play a pivotal role in upholding and advancing these standards. Drawing on your professional expertise, you’ll lead assessments of radiology services across a diverse range of settings — from small independent providers to large, multisite NHS and private organisations. You’ll guide expert review teams in delivering independent, evidence-based evaluations, and produce focused reports and action plans that drive meaningful improvement.
What you’ll do:
- Act as the designated Quality Review Partner for a portfolio of imaging services across the UK.
- Provide expert guidance to QSI leads on both the review process and the standards.
- Manage the full review cycle for services in your portfolio.
- Select and coordinate review team members in collaboration with the Quality Improvement Administrator.
- Participate in quality assurance and moderation activities to ensure consistency and rigour.
What you’ll bring:
- Demonstrable experience in quality assurance, accreditation, or evaluation assessments, or in healthcare quality management.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance and assessment approaches.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, tailored to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to prioritise effectively while remaining adaptable to changing needs.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Adfam is the leading national charity tackling the effects of alcohol, drug use or gambling on family members and friends. We improve life for thousands of people. One way we do this is by empowering families and friends to get the support they need.
We want anyone affected by someone else's drug or alcohol use or gambling problem to have the chance to benefit from healthy relationships, be part of a loving and supportive family and enjoy mental and physical wellbeing.
This role offers the opportunity to be part of a successful national remote service, offering support via the phone or Zoom to affected adults in the UK. We are looking to recruit experienced Family Support professionals to provide these virtual support sessions to individual family members and sometimes groups. We are offering a number of roles at 15-20 hours per week, across 3-5 days, including Wednesday and at least 2 evenings per week (Mon-Wed).
Experience in supporting family members affected by someone else’s substance use is essential, as is experience with assessing and managing risk. Ideally, you would also have experience of working to support parents with their parenting and / or those experiencing domestic abuse. We offer fixed hours part time contracts within a friendly and supportive team. Whilst based at home and requiring the ability to work autonomously, Adfam prides ourselves on our supportive team ethos and working culture.
- Salary: £30,000 pro rata
- 6.5% contributory pension scheme
- Contract: One year with likely extension
This is a remote working position based at home.

This is professional support work and requires additional experience or skills in substance use, social work, complex family work or a related field.
