Partnerships and Trusts Team Manager – Help shape the future of Barnsley Hospice

As Partnerships and Trusts Team Manager, you will drive growth across corporate partnerships, trusts, foundations and major donor relationships, developing sustainable income streams that support our ambition and future plans.
You will inspire and develop a high-performing team, create compelling cases for support, nurture strategic relationships and identify new opportunities to increase income and impact. Working closely with senior fundraising leaders, you will play a key role in delivering our fundraising strategy, strengthening supporter relationships and ensuring every partnership helps us continue providing compassionate, specialist palliative and end-of-life care.

Key Duties and responsibilities
1. To lead and inspire the Partnerships and Trust team by undertaking regular one-to-
ones, appraisals and performance reviews, to ensure they meet their SMART
objectives and income targets
2. Build compelling cases for support and financial ‘asks’ to secure partnerships, major donor and trust income
4. Support the Head of Fundraising and Director of Income Generation to develop and implement a highly ambitious corporate, major donor and trust fundraising strategy that enables Barnsley Hospice to meet its strategic objectives
5. Lead the team with designing and hosting engagements events to support with the
stewardship and cultivation of organisations, major donors and trusts.
6. Support the Head of Fundraising in developing Barnsley Hospice strategic approach to acquisition, cultivation and development of corporate partnerships, major donors and
trusts.
7. Developing a sustainable new partnerships and trust pipeline.
8. Effectively manage the corporate partnerships, major donors, and trusts budget, reporting any risks and opportunities to the Head of Fundraising, providing analysis and reforecasting as required.
9. Responsibility for negotiating complex strategic partnerships and overseeing new business pitches to build success in this area.
10. Drive growth in the corporate new business pipeline, focusing on value and sector leading corporates.
11. Drive growth in the trusts pipeline, focusing on value and sector leading trusts.
12. Review current corporate partnerships and trusts and oversee the building of an effective pipeline of new business opportunities to increase income substantially.
13. Lead in best practice in supporter care across corporate fundraising, major donors and trusts, to engage, motivate and retain supporters and increase their relationships with Barnsley Hospice.
15. Maximise the use of the CRM to inform and develop strategic plans.
16. Carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required by the Head of Fundraising or Director of Income Generation.
Knowledge and educational achievements:
Essential:
· GCSE’s (Grade A to C) or equivalent in English and Maths
· Full UK driving licence and access to vehicle for business use

● Evidence of further education in this field
Experience and work achievements:

● Demonstrable experience of working in a corporate/ trusts charitable fundraising role with strong understanding of new business and account management, including securing multi-year partnerships (min £10k per annum)
● Experience of leading teams through growth and change
● Experience of producing budgets and strong financial management skills

● Demonstrable experience of working with major donors, including onboarding and stewardship

The Role:
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Officer manages development operations which underpin our fundraising strategy, including fundraising finance systems, donor research and stewardship, event support, and serving as the team lead for database management. The Development Officer provides direct support to the Director of Development, works across the full Development Department, and serves as a liaison with other departments to ensure exceptional supporter stewardship and cultivation year-round. You will work as part of a close-knit team in a fast-paced environment, requiring flexibility, excellent organisation and time-management, and strong communication skills.
Performance Indicators and Deliverables
· Donations and pledges are processed, documented and acknowledged in a timely and appropriate manner, and donors have an excellent stewardship and events experiences throughout the year
· Research and due diligence on current and prospective donors is carried out thoroughly and accurately across the Development Department
· Ticketing for donors is managed effectively and efficiently from priority booking through to the Festival
· Database records are up-to-date and accurate, and reporting regularly informs fundraising operations and strategy

About the role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic fundraising expert to join us for 12 months as an interim Director of Regular Giving and Legacies. This new senior fixed-term role will lead a review of LSE’s approach to regular giving (annual giving/annual fund), legacy fundraising and parent and family giving, drawing on global best practice and sector benchmarking to develop an ambitious, evidence-based strategy for future growth.

About you
You will bring substantial experience of regular giving, annual giving, legacy fundraising or closely related philanthropic programmes, ideally with strong knowledge of international best practice and North American higher education fundraising models. You will be confident using data, insight and benchmarking to shape strategy; skilled at influencing senior stakeholders; and able to balance immediate operational priorities with longer-term strategic ambition.
Working arrangements
Our usual working arrangements are at least two days per week from our London campus. The role
We are seeking a dynamic Director of Income & Engagement to join our senior leadership team. This pivotal role is responsible for developing and implementing robust income generation strategies to diversify and grow our voluntary and traded income streams.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales and/or fundraising, building strategic partnerships and driving innovation in income generation. Key responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy:
- Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing income generation team of 10 people, including two direct reports (Head of Partnerships and Head of Philanthropy)
- Develop and execute a comprehensive income generation strategy and plans that align with the charity’s mission and goals
- Oversee all income generation and stakeholder engagement activities, maximising the growth potential and visibility of Future Frontiers to deliver impact

About the Role
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Finance Manager will play a central role in overseeing the Trust's financial accounting, investment reporting, cash management and governance activities.
This is a broad and varied position offering exposure to a significant investment portfolio, complex financial reporting requirements and engagement with senior stakeholders. Working within a small, highly professional team, you will combine technical accounting expertise with a hands-on approach, helping to strengthen financial processes, develop management reporting and support key organisational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead investment accounting and reporting for the Trust's substantial investment portfolio and associated charity.
- Prepare statutory accounts and act as the main contact for external auditors.
- Manage cashflow forecasting, treasury activities and cash management.
- Develop and enhance financial and management reporting through Microsoft Business Central and other systems.
- Drive improvements to finance processes, controls and reporting during a period of systems development.
- Support Investment Committee meetings, prepare Board papers and lead production of the Trustees' Annual Report.
- Build strong relationships with colleagues, auditors, custodians and investment managers to ensure effective financial oversight and governance.
- Provide broader support to the Director of Finance across governance, risk and operational initiatives.
About You
We are looking for a technically strong and proactive finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys balancing detailed financial work with strategic projects.
You will bring:
- A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong financial accounting and statutory reporting experience.
- Experience of investment accounting, financial services or auditing organisations with significant investment portfolios would be advantageous.
- Sound knowledge of financial reporting principles, with charity accounting experience desirable but not essential.
- Experience improving financial processes, systems and reporting.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.

An established and highly respected charitable organisation is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Finance to lead its finance function through an exciting period of change and continuous improvement.

The Role
As Interim Head of Finance, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the finance function and play a key role in supporting the wider organisation.
